[Hyo-ryung]"What can we do? On-jo and Cheong-san are really close... So are Dahlia and Jee-ah..."
On-jo was staring out of the window, still waiting for Cheong-san to come back.
"They're going out" Ji-min whispered.
"But she told me they're not"
Ji-min briefly looked at On-jo. "I'm telling you, they are. They're always together"
"Really?"
Ji-min moved her head to the side, adjusting her neck. "Dahlia and Jee-ah literally have a bond that no other can compare"
The girls continued to murmur with each other.
"Hey" Dae-su tap Su-hyeok's shoulder. "I need to tell you something"
"What?"
Dae-su and Woo-jin looked at each other then back at Su-hyeok. "Dahlia said she finds you cute--"
"Really? Did Dahlia really say that? Did she really say I'm cute?" Su-hyeok almost jumped out of his sit upon hearing what they said.
"Of course. Right Joon-yeong?"
"Yes. She also said you're a great guy" The said boy elaborated.
Upon hearing the information, Su-hyeok couldn't but smile widely as he gazed over to the sleeping figure of the girl. His smile slowly dropped when he saw fresh tears decorating Dahlia's cheeks.
He mentally slapped himself ("Now is not time for this! I can't be happy while she's sad")
Dahlia decides to take a short nap because it would make time pass by faster. All she had in mind was her dear sister. Her tears unconsciously slipped as she dreamed of her. "I'm sorry...."
~Timeskip~
Dahlia slowly raised her head back hoping that she'll see a face she had longed for. But to no avail. ("They're not back yet...")
She got up and started to walk towards the window where On-jo was standing. Her junior quickly wiped her tears away and sniffed since someone els was beside her.
"They're still not back..." Dahlia started.
"He's so stubborn. I told him not to go but he still did. Ever since we were kids, he just never lsitens"
"It's the same as Jee-ah. Always on her way making my life harder, worrying for her. I promised my mother that I eould always be their to protect her...."
On-ji sniffed wiping her nose, try her best not to cry.
"... But, they're not kids anymore, so I'm sure they're fine. And Cheong-san is pretty fast"
"Yeah..."
"You don't have to hold it in. You can cry" Dahlia wrapped her arm around On-jo giving her a side hug as she sobbed on her shoulder.
"Where do you think...they are now?"
"Who knows? If only we have a tracker or something. All we can do right now is hope for the best...."
"And prepare for the worse..." She quietly added.
Something lit up in On-jo's mind. She turned around and started walking to her classmate. "Joon-yeong. Didn't you mention that you science club made a drone?"
"Yeah. You want to look for Cheong-san with it"
"-Could we?"
"Well yeah, but it's in the science lab"
"We can go get it" Dahlia looked at On-jo then back at Joon-yeong. "I also want to know how Jee-ah is doing"
"How could we get it? It's crawling with zombies out there"
"That" On-jo pointed at the fire hose they used yesterday.
"You want be to climbed up on that?"
[Hyo-ryung]"There are zombies in the science lab too..."
"But, they weren't inside the supply room. Right?" On-jo reasoned.
"That's true, but..." Joon-yoeng paused. He didn't really think this was a good idea. Or was he just scared?
"We have to find Cheong-san and Jee-ah. There's no one else to besides us to start looking and rescue people" On-jo stated.
("I guess being the daughter of a firefighter has its perks")
Joon-yeong side, and so did the rest.
"Yes. It would be good if we had the drone" Nam-ra agreed. "We can look for Cheong-san and Jee-ah, then we can see how things are outside. We might even be able to send an emergency message and ask for help" Nam-ra told her idea.
("Big brain moment~")
"Sure, that would really be great" Hyo-ryung liked her idea. "But, who's gonna do it?" She asked.
The others trailed their eyes towards Dahlia who was looking at her own reflection on her blade.
Dahlia felt like she's being watched so she looked up to the rest who were staring at her. She rolled her eyes and sighed.
"Okay, I'll go... For Jee-ah only..." She lowly mumbled the last part.
"I want to go too" On-jo volunteered. "I took a fire rescue class, and I've climbed ropes before"
"No, I'll go" Su-hyeok spoke up.
"You already went out there..."
("Yeah. And you couldn't even bring them back")
"You can't keep putting yourself in danger-"
"Let him do it. If he wants to, he can" Dahlia put a hand on On-jo's shoulder. She turned her head to face Su-hyeok. "That is... If you're willing to take that risk, again?"
("For you, I would") Was what Su-hyeok wanted to asnwer. "Yes"
"The drone isn't finished yet" Joon-yeong, informed. "We need to find a few more parts to run it. Do you know what to get?"
Joon-yeong asked but they didn't answer him. He sighed and lookd down. "Then I have to go anyway. I guess. I'll go with On-jo and Dahlia"
"No way" Dae-su stood up properly form hi leaning form. "I'm actually going this time so stand back"
"But you can't" Woo-jin turned to the others. "He can't" Then back at Dae-su. "The rope can't hold you"
"It was fine when I came down. But it'll snap if I climed up?"
"Yeah" After hearing his answer, Dae-su went back and leaned against the table again.
"Right. Good boy"
"Joon-yeong, come with us" On-ji said, the boy hummed in response.
The three started walking towards the window when Su-hyeok suddenly grabbed Dahlia's arm.
"Wait. It's too dangerous. I'll go" He volunteered again.
"Thanks but no thanks, we got this. You should worry about yourself. I need to find Jee-ah, she's my responsibility" Dahlia turned to face Nam-ra. "Nam-ra, I leave you in charge. Y'all better not be burden to her"
"I'm going" Joon-yeong 5old tyem as he climbed up.
One by one the three started to carefully climb up the hose tgat leads to the science room. On-jo was the last to go.
[Ji-min]"Be careful, On-jo"
After some time, they finally reached the window of the supply room of tye science lab. Joon-yeong opened it and push the blinds to the side.
"Oh, careful" He said as he helped the other two get down. "The drone and the bag are right there" He pointed. The girls hummed in reply.
On-jo went over to where the bag was whilst Joon-yeong started rummaging on the shelves to find the missing parts.
Dahlia in the other hand, she walked towards a certain box that had a rodent trapped inside. She lifted the metal cover and saw the hamster still alive and well.
"Sill alive huh? You little gremlin" She started talking to it. "I can't believe something as small as you started it all. Cute..."
The hamster started violently shaking and hitting every conerif the box.
"...Too bad you lost some marbles on your head" Dahlia stood up from her crouching position and went over to Joon-yeong.
"Hey, noona. Here" He handed her several things. "Hold this. It's for the drone"
Dahlia walked away looking for anything that can be used to out tye materials inside. She halted as her eyes widened when she saw the hamster near On-jo's foot, trying to climbed up on her shoes.
"On-jo, Move away!" Dahlia ordered as she quickly grabbed a broom and started to continuously hit the animal.
"Ha! Little fucker, you managed to squeeze your way out of that tine hole. Wrong move"
The other two just stared at her with a face of shock and horror. They just witnessed murder if an "innocent" creature.
Dahlia's movements stopped when she saw the hamster's body crushed and blood smothered on the floor. "Gross"
"What was that for?!" Joon-yeong questioned.
"What?"
"It was a hamster. You just killed a hamster!"
"Dahlia, why?" This time it was On-jo that asked.
"It was the shit that bit your classmate, Hyeon-ju. Mr. Lee injected that thing with the virus" Dahlia explained. "On-jo, it was about to bite you"
"Holy...shit--"
"You saved me. Thank you, unnie"
-Change Scenes-
"You miss them, don't you?" Jee-ah spoke when she heard Cheong-san whimper as he quietly sobbed.
"I-sak's gone... Gyeong-su too.... You just want to be with On-jo again..."
Cheong-san tried his best to stop himself from crying but he just can't. Jee-ah heavily sighed.
"I don't blame you... All I want right now is to be with Dahlia. I've come this far because of her... And, I guess I won't be a burden to her much longer...."
Jee-ah gazed at the clip tgat she took out from her hair. A single drop of tear fell on it.
Cheong-san gathered his strength and started kicking the square shaped metal door.
"What the--"
After a few more kicks, it busted open. The zombies outside fell from the impact of the metal opening.
Cheong-san got out from the cramped place with Jee-ah followed behind. They were met with zombies trying to bite them once more as they keep cked and pushed them back.
"Fuck this" Cheong-san said as he screamed angrily.
"Stop screaming. Save your breathe" Jee-ah scolded.
The two started running towards the stairs but was met with another horde of the infected.
So they turned back and started running to the opposite direction. Cheong-san slides, avoided the zombies and opened the door as Jee-ah pushed them out of her way.
They successfully got inside the music room. They heard a growl. Cheong-san took a guitar and was ready to hit the upcountry zombie.
There was none running up to them. Jee-ah followed where the sound was coming from and got nearer to a broken piano.
"Don't worry, it's trapped" She has iformed looking at the creature the back at Cheong-san.
