"Oh yeah, you're burning up..." Petra spoke the back of her hand placed against the boys forehead.

"I don't feel good..." Logan repeated, groaning as he held his stomach. Petra lightly laughed as she shook her head.

"I told you not to let Eld and Olou talk you into drinking... but no, it was gonna be so fun." Petra sighed, sitting next to the boy. Logan groaned in pain once again.

"You gonna hurl?" Petra asked, quickly moving to get a bucket for the boy to throw up in.

"No, no I'm good. Ugh." Logan spoke, sitting up in the bed as he sighed, putting his head down on his arms.

"Well, you're in no condition to go with us on our expedition..." Petra sighed, rubbing her forehead while she sat down on his bed.

"Levi's gonna be pissed." Logan simply mumbled causing Petra to stifle a laugh and shel her head.

"You really think so? He's more worried about your health then the damn mission. He's the reason I've been coming in here to check on you every five minutes." Petra sighed causing Logan to sigh, running his hand through his hair.

"Well... I guess that's probably for the best. I hate not being there though." Logan mumbled, huffing as he got annoyed.

"Relax, kiddo. We can handle one expedition without you. We'll just have lots less fun." Petra spoke causing Logan to begin to laugh before his coughing cut him off. Petra went to say something before the was a knock on the door, it squeaking open.

"I've heard we've got a sick patient here." Erwin spoke, smiling at the sick boy who's eyes widened at the sight of his commander.

"Commander-" Logan spoke, his coughs cutting him off as he covered his mouth.

"Careful there, Logan, don't push yourself. It'd be a shame to lose the third best soldier in the scouts to an illness." Erwin teased as Logan reeled back, sighing as he felt his throat tense up.

"Well, actually commander. That's not entirely- OW! What the hell, brat?!" Petra shouted, going to rat on her surrogate brother before he kicked her in the side.

"Actually, Miss Ral, if you wouldn't mind I'd like to have a word with my corporal." Erwin spoke causing Petra to nod, sneakily turning around and playfully grimacing at Logan before leaving the two.

"Sick, huh?" Erwin asked, folding his arms over his chest as Logan scratched the back of his neck, nodding.

"Yep, I'm sick... I don't know where it came from. Maybe it's that thing Miche had, stopped up his nose for a week." Logan suggested causing Erwin to shrug, pulling something from his pocket.

"Will you guys be okay...? On the expedition?" Logan mumbled, staring down to his lap. Erwin sighed, walking towards the boy and putting his hand on the boys head, like he'd done multiple times to comfort him.

"We'll be fine, son. We've handled these without you before. Focus on yourself and getting better." Erwin stated causing Logan to nod, looking up at the man.

"You better make it back in one piece, old man. Never know when some scared child is going to need a roaring motivational speech." Logan teased before coughing. Erwin smiled at the boy, shaking his head.

"Here, be sure to eat and get rest... take these too." Erwin spoke, fishing out some money and some medicine. Logan nodded, taking it and putting it on his night stand.

"Mk, Thank you, Comman-" Logan spoke causing Erwin to lightly slap the back of the boys head causing him to grunt and grimace at the man.

"It's Erwin for you, kid. I've told you this hundreds of times. You don't call Levi Captain, now do you?" Erwin asked, raising an eyebrow causing Logan to huff and shake his head. Erwin sighed, sitting down on the bed as he looked to the blonde boy.

"Don't beat yourself up about missing this Logan. You're still a kid, you deserve to have a childhood. Sometimes- Sometimes I wish I could've just kept you from the scouts." Erwin mumbled, shaking his head as Logan sighed and shook his head.

"Oh come on, old man. There's nothing you could do to keep me from doing this. I need to make you proud, make Levi proud... all of you have done so much for me." Logan spoke, biting the inside of his cheek as he thought of all of his new family. They'd helped him survive, helped him build a life with them. They were everything to the boy.

"You will, son. You will." Erwin stated, smiling at the boy before patting him on he head. The man stood up, walking towards the door before looking over his shoulder.

"Oh, and Logan?" Erwin asked causing the boy to look up to one of his two role models. Erwin smiled knowingly at the boy before speaking.

"Next time, drink some water in between drinks... it'll help." Erwin spoke causing Logan's eyes to widen, an embarrassed hue flying over his face.

"Uh, yes sir." Logan mumbled causing the man to chuckle and shake his head, leaning the room with a smile, as he always did,

"How is he?" A voice asked as soon as the door closed. The commander of the scouts looked to his most trusted soldier.

"He's fine, Levi. He's one of us, after all." Erwin spoke, smiling at the man who scoffed and nodded, following the man to go on his excursion.

Explosions?

What was that noise? A roar?

Why... why is the ground shaking? Is this, the end of the world?

Logan Castle shot from bed, taking deep breaths as he tried to calm down. It'd been another nightmare, that's all it had been.

Logan rubbed his eyes, feeling slightly better but still caked in sweat. The boy was wearing a comfortable pair of pajama pants and a t-shirt. Suddenly, the bed beneath him began to shake. His eyebrows furrowed as he looked around, finding the whole room shaking before it stopped.

There was silence for a few seconds before what sounded like an explosion shook the building again. The boy quickly got out of bed, making his way out into the hallway finding different garrison members scurrying around. Logan's heart dropped at the sight, we're they under attack? Who would attack them?

"It's back! The colossal titan has returned! He's kicked a hole in the wall!" One soldier shouted, answering Logan's mental questions.

Logan froze for a second, blinking as he took a breath, trying to think. What would Erwin do in this situation? What would Levi do?

"Hey, kid! You're apart of the scouts right?! Why the hell aren't you with them? Ah screw it, the more soldiers the better! Come on, we've gotta put the gear on!" An older blonde soldier spoke, tossing the boy a set of ODM gear. Logan caught it, still slightly in shock before nodding, returning his room and changing from his sleeping clothes into a pair of the scout white pants along with a shirt, not bothering putting his jacket on.

He quickly pulled his ODM gear on, strapping it to him before making sure he had gas. He made his way outside, seeing Titans flooding the streets. Screams from the civilians echoed off of the talk buildings as they ran past the boy. He stood in the middle of the street, realizing that this was no dream nor nightmare. This was the beginning of the end of humanity.

What looked to be cadets flew over the boy, flying over the rooftops as one by one they were swat down by the Titans. These recruits, they didn't have the experience Logan did. Why were they fighting when Logan couldn't? He didn't understand, why fight?

Suddenly, his body reacted on muscle memory, his ODM gear flying upwards onto a roof as a titan clambered to get to him.

The boy looked up to the wall, finding no colossal titan in sight. Had it already been defeated? The screams of the Titans victims continued to echo through the streets, finally shocking the boy to his senses.

The boy sighed, closing his eyes and looking up at the sky, letting his hands sway at his sides.

"I'm sorry if I don't see you all again... but I need to help them, like you helped me." Logan mumbled out, knowing no one would hear the boy. He opened his eyes, now remembering the vow he took to devote his heart to humanity's freedom.

He began to swing through the streets, using his ODM gear as only he and Levi could. With beautiful spins, twirls and stylish dodges, the boy looked almost like an angel of death. Time flew by as he became one with his gear, using it as an extension of his body rather then a tool.

He felt his body slow as he heard the whine of the gas canisters nearly empty. He stumbled his way onto a roof, the rain dripping down onto his face that had been covered in steaming titan blood.

He took deep labored breaths, the hangover the boy had been suffering from had faded earlier with the adrenaline pumping through his veins.

The boy looked around, spotting many recruits sitting on the opposite roof, all looking extremely defeated with one standing among them. He squinted his eyes at the girl, remembering her face from somewhere.

"Come on guys! If we all work together, we'll be fine! I'll take the lead." She spoke, seemingly pleading with her comrades.

Logan looked around before jumping over to them, the blood had all but steamed off of his body.

"Not yet, if we do it, we do it all together." A mans voice spoke out as Logan stumbled, the exhaustion finally pulling on his body.

"How the hell did the supply building get taken over that easily?" Logan muttered, getting the standing girls attention.

"Hey!! I had thought all of the veterans were killed on the front line! Are you a member of the garrison?!" She asked, rushing towards the boy who shook his head as he stifled a cough.

"Scouts, Levi Squad... Colonel Logan Castle, at your service cadet." Logan sighed out, wiping sweat from his forehead.

"Oh! Sasha Braus!! I had thought all of the scouts had been on an expedition! Otherwise-"

"Did you say Logan Castle?!" The voice from before shouted over Sasha's. Logan looked up, furrowing his eyebrows. Sure, his name had been known among some of the recruits for him being their age and being a high ranking member of the scouts.

A blonde boy with short hair marched towards them from the other side of the roof, his eyes wide as he found Logan.

"You're alive..." the man mumbled, sighing with relief as he approached the boy, wrapping him in a hug. Logan found the boy familiar, searching his brain for where he'd known him from.

"Yeah, just barely. We've met haven't we, recruit? Uhm, oh yeah, you were one of the top of your class right? Braun? You're apart of that top ten right, Sasha?" Logan asked causing the girl to nod, her hair flailing as she nodded.

"Well, I'm sure we can all be great friends over tea later, for now, we got to get out of this." Logan sighed, looking around at the soldiers.

"Listen up!" Logan shouted, breaking away from the two that he'd originally met on the rooftop.

"Five years ago, the colossal titan took wall Maria from us! It took our homes, it took our loved ones, it took our freedom and now it's back! I can't promise any of you that any of us will get to see wall Maria taken back. But I can promise, if we fight now and here! If we take back the supply room, we will give the people following us a fighting chance!" Logan shouted, standing in front of the many terrified recruits.

He couldn't blame them, they'd just seen their comrades ripped apart. But they needed to fight, just as their predecessors had.

"I have people waiting for me, I have them in this world and I have them in the next. So I'm going to go and take back the supply room. If I'm the only one who tries them so be it, I won't blame any of you for being cowards, but here is where you get to decide who and what you are. For the people of Trost, the people who've died to get us here and the people you've sworn to protect! Devote your hearts!" Logan yelled, sounding similar to the blonde commander of the scouts.

He turned around, facing away from the group as he raised his sword towards the supply depot.

He let a sigh out before jogging forwards, taking off towards the supply depot. He didn't care if he needed to take the supply room back alone, he'd do it. He'd do it even if it meant he'd die, because that's who Erwin and Levi had taught him to be.

The boy grunted as he found his way in, his body breaking into the room through a glass panel. He slid on the wooden floors, his back getting scraped from the lack of a jacket he was wearing. He sighed, staring up to the ceiling.

He'd made it, at least into the supply building, he stifled to his feet, the exhaustion still hitting his body like a brick.

He glanced up, finding multiple people staring at him in both confusion and awe. Logan furrowed his eyes before he realized who the cowering people were. He blinked a few times before he bent over,

"S-supply team?" Logan mumbled, stumbling towards the recruits with no clear emotion on his face.

"Yeah... who are- Hey! What're you-" the recruit spoke out as Logan dragged the boy out from under his desk.

"What do you think you're doing?! Sitting here under desks while your comrades get slaughtered out there?!" Logan shouted, grasping the boys collar and slamming him to the floor.

"We were scared! We're sorry! We were just-" The boy stuttered out as he covered his face, Logan taking a step back and kicking the side of the boys head.

"You what?! I saw kids being murdered out there! Kids!" Logan shouted as he let another kick rip through the air, blood beginning to pour down the side of his head as the windows next to them smashed apart, the scouts sliding on the wood floors next to them.

"Is this..." The brown-haired boy asked as he looked at the supply team all cowering below their desks.

"Meet the supply team, useless fucks." Logan muttered, sighing as he wiped the sweat off of his brow. The rest of the scouts flew into the room, Logan sighed as he ran a hand through his hair.

"We need to go take back the supply room... Anyone got any gas?" Logan sighed, looking around at the group, they shook their heads before the wall busted open. Logan took a step-in front of everyone taking a breath as he stared down the titan looking at the cadets like a freshly cooked dinner.

"Take care of everyone for me, Levi." Logan muttered, sure he was going to die in that room. He needed to protect these cadets, even if it meant he'd die. Suddenly a giant fist smashed into the side of its face. Logan stumbled back slightly, tilting his head at the event before taking a step towards the gaping hole and looking out at the titan decimating it.

"This has been one weird fucking day." Logan mumbled as he shook his head. Not knowing what else was in store for the group.
