1 week to 19th may 2005
"please tell me this is a dream."
"I did not just heard that."
"I'm still asleep, right?"
"tell me that you're joking."
"reject it then, the fuck?"
"say sike, right now, akashi y/n."
words and phrases of disbelief were thrown at akashi y/n. the girl who had expected these reactions from her friends. y/n sighs audibly which only made her friends' eyes widened.
'I knew that this was going to happen,' y/n thought to herself — her expectation became a reality (which usually is a rare occasion).
"you had a month to tell us and you're only telling us a week before your attendance to that whatever that school is? what happened to the thought of us going to further studies together?" yuzuha mumbled, she is still in disbelief of this whole latest news.
another sigh escaped y/n's lips, it's such a disappointment that she is just quiet and not giving anymore explanation — something that koko, inupi and yuzuha are actually used to it.
"keep sighing. that would help the trees to live," koko interfered and stuck out his tongue. his sarcasm was obvious because he is also disappointed that y/n didn't tell them way earlier.
"look, I never wanted to get involve in this whole thing and I don't even know how I was born with jujutsu.. the reason I couldn't tell earlier was because we were busy on hanging out and settling gang stuffs that I even forgot to let you guys know about it. I hate giving excuses and you guys know it," y/n tried to give an explanation. a pang of guilt hit her chest — the kind of feeling that she never wanted to face it, wished to never face it.
yes, she hates excuses and she hates giving them. it is her own perspective to put it that way. although almost everything in life needs an excuse to go through some problems.
thus, not everyone would understand the excuses given. some excuses were just the transparent truth and some were just a mask to get away.
this is a small one and shouldn't even need an excuse to do so. y/n must have expected them to understand earlier but looks like they don't. so, she had to give an explanation that sounded like an excuse — which is another thing that she is not a fond of.
people's perspective could turn into so many ways and not everyone would actually listen and understand them — this definitely leads to misunderstanding.
(not to quote zayn malik but, 'people loves giving out opinions but nobody is listening to it.')
"so that also means you're leaving black dragon," inupi concluded the explanation that y/n doesn't have to tell him about.
she stayed silent. whenever someone got the idea in her mind, she would do nothing else except silent.
"well that explained everything," koko added, which only made the situation for y/n to stay silent even more.
"okay now three of you get your asses up! we don't want to waste anymore time," yuzuha said and gets up from her seat.
"you have something in your mind to go, zuha?" y/n finally voiced out to talk when she noticed yuzuha's sudden change of emotion.
'the only way to ignore the pain is to cheer up, right? not you leaving me too, y/n,' yuzuha spoke in her mind.
"just so you all know, it's not like I'm leaving forever. I would still come over and visit you guys. now, let's just watch a movie before that monster asked us to join another fight," y/n said, hoping those words would calm down her best friends. from what she knows, the school is still in tokyo but hidden in the outskirts so wouldn't take that much time to meet her friends in shibuya which is also in tokyo.
"yeah okay.." koko, inupi and yuzuha muttered at the same time.
clearly, right after that, the three of them went to watch a movie (again, koko paid for the tickets and he didn't mind about it). it was a horror movie that they were holding hands with each other. the grips will become tighter if they get more scared. those jumpscares, neither of them four screamed but the people in the cinema would.
who suggested the horror movie? inupi.
y/n let go her grip of her hand to eat popcorn but inupi would sling his arm into hers — she noticed as she pays attention to the popcorn, letting his arm connected with hers.
after the movie ended, they all got out of the cinema and trying to get the vision of those unrealistic ghosts in the movie off their head. sometimes, horror movie are so irritating that doesn't let us do works in peace — it makes us feel like there's something watching us or there's something behind us but it was obviously nothing at all.
another sunset to welcome the night of the time, just yet to bring the darkness. when finding a peace in someone's violence is almost the same as finding the peace in the dark, wouldn't that actually means something? so.. what does it actually mean?
a sound of notification from yuzuha's phone was heard. she took it out and opens the notification to see what it was about. her heart dropped to her stomach when it was her older brother sent her a message. she thought it was regarding to her being a bad sister but turned out it was regarding y/n.
"uhm.. y/n, taiju wants to see you. he said that it's important," yuzuha said — not only her is surprised by that but koko and inupi too.
"okay. we will go to your house to meet him then. koko and inupi can go back home," y/n said.
"nope we're coming with you," koko voiced out.
y/n raised an eyebrow as she looks at him, "does that message said anything about koko and inupi?" she asked, now facing yuzuha.
"nope. only you," yuzuha answered when she rechecked the content of the message given.
koko and inupi sighed audibly, it is a rare occasion for taiju — the leader of the 10th generation of black dragon commanded to meet up with the 'mystery member of black dragon.' it was her wish to keep it hidden.
not so mystery that the toman members know her identity being in black dragon..
koko and inupi went back home — just like what y/n told them to while y/n and yuzuha on their way to the shiba household to meet the leader of 10th generation of black dragon.
"do you think what y/n said was true? that she will come over and visit us at times?" koko asked, looking up to the night sky.
"she holds her words, so.. yes," inupi answered.
back at y/n and yuzuha who has arrived at the shiba household, they meet with the blue haired guy who sits on his chair, looking lazily at the two girls.
"you called?" y/n voiced out first. taiju got up from his seat and headed towards both of them. yuzuha is shaking inside but she didn't show it while y/n, she has the urge to kick this guy in the face. y/n noticed that bruises on yuzuha's face are not frequently to be seen ever since y/n joined the gang.
taiju knows that y/n is the first generation of black dragon vice captain's younger sister — who was known to be the god of war while y/n is the mysterious one that rather to be hidden.
oh how contrast between those two.
"yup and I have a job for you. yuzuha, go to sleep," taiju said as he looks at his younger sister who nodded in response and walked away while y/n stayed silent to let taiju continue his next words of telling her the job that she needs to do.
"actually no. it's not a job. I had to make an excuse so that yuzuha would leave your side," taiju muttered — now this brings y/n a confusion.
'I still don't even know if leaving this gang would be a good idea,' y/n thought to herself, still debating on that choice of hers. would it turn out good or bad? the outcome of it is what she worries the most. she knows damn well that taiju is not a man of his words. he only feared y/n because her relation with takeomi.
"and why is that?" she questioned, looking up at his tall and big figure — that doesn't even suit him who is 16 years old.
"because, I need to make something clear. you, joining black dragon because you wanted to protect yuzuha while keeping your identity in this gang, that was our agreement. devote your life to me and I won't beat yuzuha, correct? there's another thing as well," he paused for a moment, thinking deeply about his next words.
'that means if I leave, the protection for yuzuha will be broken as well. fuck's sake,' she spoke in her mind, cursing that this whole thing would turn out worse if she leaves.
"and that is?" she insisted him to continue.
"the 8th generation black dragon's leader, kurokawa izana. I heard both of you were close, right?" taiju continued. the mention of the familiar name had y/n to boil her nerves.
"what's your business to know about it?" y/n asked, it sounded harsh but her tone was still monotonous to hold her own composure self.
"nothing harm will happen. it's just that you have joined black dragon since the 7th generation but why aren't you the leader?"
y/n only hums in response and proceed to say, "some questions can't be answered, right? back to my question, what's your business about me and izana?"
"nothing. just keep an eye on him or something, I don't know? he have a power to create a new gang and whatsoever and try to banish other gangs. it was just my own thoughts. he has been quiet for a long time anyway," taiju explained.
"hmm.. in that case, whatever next moves that you're deciding and assigned the members on, I won't be joining any of them," y/n told, 'in this way, I wouldn't need to leave the gang and the protection for yuzuha won't be broken,' adding more ideas in her mind.
"understandable," taiju uttered.
"that means I won't be around shibuya. just so you know that I'm continuing my studies as well. I won't be around that much," y/n added.
"does that mean you're leaving the gang? you know that-,"
"did I mention that I'm leaving? no. so, that's our new deal. I won't be around but I'm not leaving. protection is still on the table," y/n interrupted his words, stating out the conclusion.
'but I do wanna leave..' she thought, taking her steps to leave shiba household.
one week left.. just one more week..
