I woke up early today.
And I wasn't feeling empty or sad or angry and I was glad. Even though all I did was lay in bed reading, I did not feel the urge to hate myself.

She woke up late yesterday.
And while she did berate herself for not getting up on time, she was content. Even though she was late for a meeting, she hadn't slept so well in months.

He might miss his flight tomorrow.
And while he knew he shouldn't miss it, for the first time in forever, he felt pure joy. Even though he might get scolded or lose his job, he had finally talked to his parents and it was worth it.
I don't know if that's good or bad, really.
They might not find what they're doing now useful in the future.
And while they were told it was a waste of time, they did not care and were happy. Even though it might not work out, it gave them something to live for and that was all that mattered to them.
I don't know if that's good or bad really.
But it gave me (us) happiness and for now, that's enough.
