You, Rainsong, Hiccup, and Toothless followed Hiccup's mom and Cloudjumper as they flew over the glaciers. You turned around to see a large flock of dragons flying behind you. Hiccup copied your actions and sent his mother a confused look.
"H-hey, I thought we were going to eat?" He asked, confused as to why the three of you were being followed by that many other dragons.
Cloudjumper and the woman turned around, "Oh, we are!" She said before putting her hand out, Rainsong and Toothless to stop. The two of you looked at her confused before following her gaze to the ocean below. The water rumbled and shook before parting which revealed The Bewilderbeast breaking the waves and letting out a loud bellow. The large dragon then spits a large mouthful of fish into the air, you gasped, shocked slightly. You heard the woman letting out a hearty laugh at your shocked face before you smiled and gave Rainsong a pat. She then reached out, grabbing several fish in her jaws. You chuckled, stroking her scales lightly.
After she and Toothless had gotten their fill the three of you along landed on one of the glaciers. You sat down leaning back on your hands while Hiccup was explaining to the woman about all the places the two of you had discovered, he gestured over to you and then pointed down to the paper. The woman then grabbed her staff and stood up, drawing out the lines on the map in the snow.
After she finished you stood up and looked at the map, it was like an add-on to what he had on the map. You glanced over when you heard Toothless let out a little growl, he picked up an icicle and began drawing with it. You chuckled as he dragged the ice through the snow before trying to let go, realizing that the ice was stuck to his tongue. You let out a little chuckle before turning towards Rainsong. She bobbed her head while letting out noise from her throat.

You and Hiccup's mom were sitting on the glacier watching as Hiccup played with Toothless. Rainsong was wrapped around you as the two of you sat. Valka quickly turned to you before placing her hand on top of yours.
"I believe I forgot to introduce myself to you before. My name is Valka." She reached her other hand out and you shook it.
You sent her a small smile, "I'm (Y/N). It's a pleasure to meet you."
"So..." She began, "How did you and Hiccup get together? How did he woo such a beautiful lady?" She asked causing your face to go slightly red.
You chuckled, "It's a funny story actually... well Hiccup was such a troublemaker when he was fifteen- still is- but there was one night when Stoick asked me to keep an eye on Hiccup. I tried my best of course but he ran off. I saw the whole situation with the Night Fury and when he was helping Toothless he convinced me to become friends with Rainsong... It's funny- at that time he actually had a crush on my best friend."
You noticed her expression change with everything you said, "But he ended up not liking her- she took it really well, and now we have been together for a couple of years."
"Do you think he is going to propose anytime soon?" Valka asked causing your face to go even redder.
"Well- I sure hope so." You said looking up at Hiccup, "I have never loved anyone as much as I love him." The boy glanced over at you before sending you a wave and a smile.
Valka then turned to you before tapping your shoulder lightly and holding out her hands. You gripped them before she yanked you off the ground, she then pulled you over towards your dragon, "Come! I have something to show you!" You sent Hiccup a confused look, he shrugged.
You then mounted your dragon and followed her and Cloudjumper over to the side of the glacier. You noticed a large updraft before watching the woman and her dragon jump off the side. Cloudjumper spread out his wings and began to float upwards. You and Rainsong shared a look before copying their actions and jumping off the side. Hiccup and Toothless followed close behind and soon the three of you were floating in the air along with several other dragons.
Hiccup's mom climbed from the wings of one dragon to the next she climbed onto Rainsongs wings before passing over you and onto Toothless. She stepped over Hiccup before rubbing his head and hopping off of Toothess's other wing and landing on Cloudjumper. You smiled before following as the others broke away from the group.
"Ah- when I'm up here. I don't even feel the cold. I just feel..." Valka began before stopping, trying to think of the word.
"Free-" Both you and Hiccup said at the same time before making eye contact. You sent him a small smile before turning back to the woman.
The woman noticed your little exchange before chuckling and spreading out her arms, "This is what it is to be a dragon, Hiccup!"
The boy smiled before sending you a small look, you knew what he was about to do, "It's all well and good to call yourself a dragon-" You watched as he unhooked himself from the saddle and shifted gears, "-but can you fly?" He asked before standing up and jumping off the dragon.
The woman's eyes widened and she looked over the side of her dragon, watching as Hiccup snapped his fake wings open and floated through the air. You quickly sped up and floated alongside him while Valka did the same, staring in awe. You looked up seeing Hiccup heading straight towards a mountain top.
"HICCUP!" You called, causing him to look forward, you were about to reach out and grab him before Toothless wrapped his wings around the boy and they both flew through the overhang in the peak, the two tumbled through snow onto the ground.
You quickly landed behind the dragon, before jumping off of your dragon and running over to Toothless and Hiccup.
"Hiccup?" You called. Toothless rolled over and lifted his wings, his eyes widened when he didn't see the boy. Hiccup then popped up from under the snow and flung his arms in the air.
"Woohoo! Yeah!" He then stood up and started putting away the fake wings and adjusting his armor, "Man- almost!" Toothless sneezed, "We just about had it hat time!" Hiccup said. Toothless send the boy a look before swiping his tail under Hiccup and pulling his legs out from under him, "Ow." You ran over to Hiccup and kneeled down next to him, lightly grabbing his shoulders as he sat up.
"I swear- Hiccup. One day you are going to get seriously hurt!" You shook him back and forth.
He smiled, "I'm fine, (Y/N)!" He placed his hand on top of yours to stop you from shaking him, "We'll get it next time." He said before placing a light kiss on your lips. He pulled away when the two of you heard chuckling behind you. Your faces went slightly red as Valka ran over to the two of you. Hiccup and you quickly stood up, brushing yourselves off.
She reached over and touched the fin on Hiccup's back before looking at the wings, she touched his face lightly, "Incredible." She glanced at him before pulling her hand away quickly, she smiled before placing it back. He leaned into her touch slightly causing you to smile. After all these years, he finally got to see his mother, "All this time, you took after me." She paused before looking slightly angry, "And... where was I?" She asked herself, "I'm so sorry, Hiccup. Can we start over? Will you give me another chance?"
You glanced over at Hiccup wondering about his response before realizing how awkward you looked, just standing around and watching the two have a moment. You turned around seeing Rainsong toddle over to you. You stroked her scales, still listening to the conversation.
"I-I can teach you all that I've learned these past 20 years. Like-" You turned to look at Valka who stepped over to Toothless, she stroked his scales carefully before pressing a pressure point on his back. His dorsal blades split in two, "Now you can make those tight turns!" Toothless opened his mouth widely, smiling before bouncing over to Hiccup, he wagged his tail before opening and closing his dorsal fins.
"Did you know about this?" He asked the dragon who seemed just as confused as he was.
The woman smiled, "Every dragon has its secrets. And..." She leaned over and grabbed your arm, pulling you into the conversation that you didn't know you were a part of, "I'll show them all to you! We'll unlock every mystery. Find every last species-- together, as mother, son... and son's girlfriend." She chuckled while rubbing your hair. You blushed slightly at the comment.
You watched as Toothless dug his way through the snow, he peaked up through it and shook off throwing snow on top of Rainsong and Cloudjumper, the two dragons shared a look before dumping the snow on Toothless's head.
"This gift we share, it bonds us." The woman then turned just to Hiccup, "This is who you are, son." You noticed the look in Hiccup's eyes change, "Who we are. We will change the world for all dragons. We will make it a better, safer place."
Hiccup nodded, "Yeah, I mean, that sounds amazing." Valka pulled him into a hug. The two held the hug for a bit before Hiccup quickly pulled away excitedly, "Oh, this is so great! Now you and I can go talk to Drago together."
You sent Hiccup a confused look, "What?" Valka said seemingly sharing your confusion, "There's no talking to Drago." She seemed to brush it off as if Hiccup was joking.
"But we have to.." Hiccup breathed, he sent you a look trying to get you to encourage her or something.
Valka shook her head, "No." She turned towards Cloudjumper, "We must protect our own." She brushed her hand over the dragon, comforting him, "Come on. We should be getting back." Hiccup scoffed before rolling his eyes. He then turned to look at Toothless who was staring at him with his tongue sticking out and flapping his newly found dorsal blades. You chuckled before watching as Valka hopped onto Cloudjumper and waited for the two of you to mount your dragons. You followed quickly as the woman and her dragon lifted off into the air.
