(Y/n) POV:
I let Rascal free and they help me enter the house quietly
We sneak upstairs, careful not to wake anyone up
I slowly open my door and take off my boots and jacket
I tuck myself into my bed and look over to Luz
She's all snuggled in her sleeping bag nice and cozy
I realize that I didn't really have the chance to talk to her after she got home
"Luz, how was your day at school?" I ask hoping she isn't asleep yet
"Pretty good I guess" Luz rolls onto her back
"What did you do?"
"I don't know, witchy stuff" she shrugs her shoulders
"What kind of witchy stuff?" I hang off the edge of my bed
"Well maybe you'd know if you had stayed with me" she mutters under her breath, forgetting a witches hearing is above average
How was I so stupid, how did I forget about her
I put my hands over my face and drag them down, pulling at my skin in annoyment with myself
"What?" I act dumb for a second
"Oh nothing" she murmurs
"No, what did you say?"
"No it's fine, don't worry" she turns back on her side
"Luz, you can tell me what's wrong"
"It's just today was hard, ya know?" She pulls her legs up and holds herself a little more
"How so?" I rest my head on my hands
"Well for starters, I got laughed at for not doing traditional magic and eaten by a bunch of plants, luckily Willow was there to save me"
"Oh my titan Luz, I totally forgot it was your first day" I sigh
"That's not even what I'm really upset about though, you broke your promise (y/n)"
"Luz I forgot"
"(Y/n) you promised to stick with me, I wanted to spend my first day at witch school with my best friend doing witch things" Luz sigh's
I process the fact that she just called me her best friend
We've only known each other for a short amount of time yet we act like we've known each other our whole lives
I spend time in my thoughts
Luz and I have really created an amazing friendship
I can't mess it up with my bullshit
I don't know what to say now

"To make it worse you basically ignored me and your family all night"

"We have school tomorrow and we need to sleep, good night (y/n)" she say's sorrowfully
"Night Luz" I turn around and let Rascal snuggle into me

*time skip to morning*
Rascal pecks my face telling me it's time to wake up
I rub my eyes and sit up just in time to see Luz slip out of my bedroom door
She's already in her uniform, ready for school
"I have to talk to her" I tell Rascal
They nod in agreement
I walk downstairs I'm my pyjamas
"Good morning (y/n)!" Hooty says happily "look what me and Lulu made"
Hooty picks me up and plops me in my chair at the table, shoving a plate of food in my face

"That's amazing Hooty" I smile
I look over at Luz, she looks sad
My face drops a little
I eat my food and head upstairs to get ready
*time skip to school*
Luz hops off Rascal
"Thank you"
I look at the girls
Boscha isn't at school

*10 minute time skip*
Luz walks into abominations and looks at me
I sit with an empty chair beside me, waiting for her to walk up and sit with me
She sits right beside Sheila
"I love your horns" she compliments
I start getting a little jealous and angry
I miss my friend
I get up and sit beside Amity so I'm not alone
She's really holding a grudge?
I face Amity with an 'are you seeing this?' Look
She shrugs it off and turns back to the teacher
I stare at her for a second to see a very small smile grow on her face
*time skip to lunch*
Luz walks into the cafeteria, laughing and talking to another witch
She spots me and I wave
She frowns and follows the witch to their table
Why am I so jealous? Luz should be allowed to talk to other people right?
Stop overreacting, shes just making more friends
No she's making new friends
Stop arguing with yourself, and don't be a controlling asshole (y/n)
Just let it go for now
I see Luz looking over to our table
But not at me
I look back at Willow who's giving Luz a thumbs up
*time skip to home*
I look at everyone spread out in the family room
Luz and King are playing, mom and Owlbert are playing Hexes Hold'em and aunt Lily is reading childrens books to Hooty
I don't wanna admit it but I need help
But who could help me?

I mean who was the one who cursed their sister and still managed to get their relationship back after like 30 years?

I don't wanna interrupt what everyone has going on right now so I'll just go upstairs and wait to get her alone
*30 minute time skip*
I hear my aunt walking up the stairs
I lay on her bed waiting
She opens the door and is surprised to see me
"Oh hello (y/n), um what are you in here for?" She asks confusedly
"Hey aunt Lily, I need your help"
"Ok what do you need help with?" She sits beside me
"Ok so yesterday I might have promised Luz that I wouldn't leave her at Hexide, but then I kinda broke my promise and she might be a little upset about it, and I don't know how to apologize" I say all in one breath
"You just say you're sorry, is that not obvious?" She looks at me oddly
"Well no it's harder than that for me" I groan
"(Y/n) I devoted my life to a horrible cause trying to undo what I did instead of just confessing and apologizing and I'll tell you it's better to get it over with right now"
I look down
I know she's right, I just don't wanna admit it
"(Y/n) just swallow your pride and admit you messed up, it's only gonna make it harder if if you don't"
"Is there any other way?" I whine
She rolls her eyes
"No (y/n), you need to stop acting like a child and apologize" she gets a little serious
"Thanks aunt Lily, I guess I can try"
She walks me to her door
"It will make everything better, I promise" she tells me before softly closing the door
I sigh and start walking before whipping back around and whispering through the tiny crack in the door
"You still sure there isn't any other options?"
"No (y/n)" she calls
I groan
I start heading back down to my room
"Ya know what mabye I need a second opinion"
I run back down the hall to my moms room
"Mommm" I open her door
"Whattt" she pokes her arm up from her nest and signals for me to come over to her
"I need help"
"With what?" she asks
"Aunt Lily said I should apologize to Luz but you're sure there's other options right?"
"Don't listen to your aunt she's kooky" she says picking up a dagger and using at as a toothpick
I raise an eyebrow at her and giggle a little
"But what are you apologizing for? You gotta give me some context here kid"
"Well I broke a promise" I explain a little
"So you're the one who broke Luz" she points a finger at me
"Broke Luz?"
I suddenly get hit with an even bigger wave of guilt
"Yea she wasn't as cheerful and Luz-y today"
I feel a tiny bit of relief knowing that my mom was just exaggerating a little
"Oh, well how do I fix her?" I ask
"Well you do sound like kind of an asshole here, I think I'll agree with Lily on this one kid"
"Ok" I sigh again
I know I'm gonna have to suck it up and apologize to Luz
"Thanks mom"
"No problem kid" she closes her eyes and immediately goes back to sleeping
I make my way down to my room
I go to grab the handle but pull back for a second
What if she doesn't forgive me?
What if it's just a waste of time and she never wants to talk to me again?
No she'll forgive me, she's Luz
Besides I could think of better things to burn a friendship over
I grip the door handle and slowly open it
I poke my head in
Luz is sitting on my bean bag chair playing on her phone
"Um... hi Luz" I awkwardly step in
"Hey (y/n)" she takes her time to look up at me
I play with my hands
I don't know what to say
"What do you need?" She asks
I stare at her awkwardly
"Swallow your pride and apologize" I whisper to myself
"Luz, I-"
I stop and think a little
I breathe out
Don't stress too much, just say sorry
"well um... I'm sorry for not being there Luz, I'm sorry for being a bad friend"
Luz starts to cry a little
"I hope you can forgive me"
