Vincent's POV
It hurts. My heart hurts, my wolf hurts, thats the only thing I can process. My mate was tortured and abused and I got mad because she was too afraid to tell me her truth. What kind of mate am I?
After I told her I was sorry I walked around my desk, picked her up, and took her to our room. I mindlinked Enzo and Leonardo that I wouldn't be working for the rest of the day nor tomorrow. All I told them was that Kinuka and I needed a day or 2 to ourselves, to which they agreed.
Once we made it to our room, I ran a bath for Kinu and once she was in I went downstairs to grab our lunch and some snacks. Once I came back I found her sitting in bed in one of the outfits a pack member gifted to her as a welcoming gift.
She looked both nervous and scared, of what? I don't know. I sat the food tray down on the bedside table before sitting gin front of her
"Whats wrong compagna?" I spoke holding her hands
"Are you mad at me?" She whispered
"Why would I be mad Kinu?" I asked
"Because I kept secrets from you, thats not what mates are supposed to do" a small tear fell down her cheek
"I'm not mad at all, you kept it until I basically forced you to tell me and that's my fault, and for that I am so sorry" I wiped her cheek
She pulled herself up and sat in my lap hugging me around my waist. In return I hugged her tighter to myself if that was even possible.
"Its okay, you're just worried about me. Do you think we can take a nap?" She whispered in my neck
"Of course little mate, but only after we eat lunch, okay?" I spoke rubbing slow circles on her back
"Okay" She sounded relaxed
As we ate lunch, Kinuka had decided to use a bit of her shape-shifting abilities. One moment it's just us the next minute I see a tail wrapped around my waist, it wasn't scary if anything it reminded me of a cat tail. It was dark brown and had white spots decorating it, just like her hair. We ate in a comfortable silence, momentarily stealing glances at each other, this moment only reminded me of how cute she is.
But now that I know her truth, so many things about her make more sense. Why she fought so well, why she's so sensitive to her surroundings, the amount of times she's flinched from loud sounds, even the fact that her brother mentioned nightmares. My little mate truly is a fighter.
Once we were finished eating, I shed one of the pack members to come and get our food tray. Once it was gone I went to the bed and layer Kinuka down. Right before she fell asleep I kissed her forehead and whispered to her
"My little mate, you are stronger than you think"
