Friday: the branch opening

"Language Chris!" Abigail covered my mouth
"What's wrong you look nervous?" She pat my back in an attempt to console me

"Hey!" She cupped my face with her hands "after this shareholder's speech... It's gonna be your speech, and I'm sure you'll do amazing out there"
I want to say thank you but the words don't come out... Because that's not what I'm worried about
I'm worried about what's gonna happen the day after this
"And I want to thank our CEO CHRISTIAN TERAZI, COME UPSTAGE SIR" the share holder gestures, he's done talking
I can't get up of my seat, It feels like my legs are frozen, he's right there... Oliver the man who will soon murder my mother, is sitting in a table just right there

"Do you want me to come with you?" She asked
"Yes please... I figured we both thank mom and dad, the past few months I have been terrible to all of you, maybe this is also a good time to apologize" I smile
"Then let's get up there!" She gets up and ran to the stage

"Oh no you don't!" I ran after her, catching up to her, running upstairs to get ahold of the microphone first
The guests just giggle at our childish gesture
"This speech isn't going to be like my last ones..."

The crowd of people looking so intensely
"I- okay before I say thank you I wanted to apologize first and say thank you directly after, to my parents who keep waiting for me to join breakfast but as soon as I get down I immediately leave to go to work..."

I finished my speech, the speech was from my heart truly it was, my grew up without a family and I was by myself being with them makes me so grateful
