A week later Lena was able to come home from the hospital. Temporarily
She's only going to be at the house for a week, then she'll have to return back to the hospital Again. Dr. Watts gave me strict instructions for Lena
Has to follow, the kids doesn't know
She's coming home. I called Nathaniel and let him know, we'll be there soon
He informed he's done the grocery shopping for us. I was grateful for his help, Lena fell asleep on the drive home. She had her chemo treatment
This morning, it's taken a lot of her
Since Lena's birthday in three weeks
I decided to celebrate her early
So I called Maggie and invited over our place this weekend for a small gathering. Lena isn't allowed to have certain foods to eat, it didn't take us long to arrive at the house. I turned off the car, and got out the car
Lena's pretty weak these days
She's lost so much weight, l went to unlock the front door. Then went back to get Lena out, l carried her in bridal style. I laid her down on the couch and headed back out to get our luggage from the trunk. And locked all the doors vehicle up, then went inside. And sat the bags down
I walked in the kitchen, to get a drink of water out of the refrigerator
It was stocked up with fruits, yogurt vegetables. I checked the cabinets
It was full all kinds of healthy foods
Nathaniel must went by the list he received from Lena's dietitian,
Nathaniel even brought a couple cases ensure, water and juices
It seems where good on groceries for a few months. I decided to make me cold cut sandwich to eat, while Lena's sleeping. Dr. Watts told me that Lena might be exhausted at times, l knew the cancer was gonna drained her energy At times. I also know there will be days, she'll be sick. After eating my sandwich, l went back into the living room and turned on the television. For something to watch
Lena begin to stir in her sleep
I made sure there was a bottle of water on the coffee table and a pail bucket, in front of her in case she throws up, her oncologist prescribed some anti-nausea medicine. They dissolvable tablets, Lena can do chemo at home or at the hospital
I have to keep the bathroom clean on a regular basis. The nurse said chemo can stay in Lena's body for seven days
We need to be extremely careful, about potential germs, it's a lot of information to take in. I haven't discussed this with Lena yet, l'm sure she will be thrilled to be out of the hospital, and just go and do it as outpatient.
