The speed of his car increased at every second. Madison gripped onto the side of her seat and watched as Will did the same to his steering wheel.

"Will, please slow down"
Her voice was shaky

Will didn't listen to her, he kept his eyes fixed on the road.

All she could think about was dying the same way as Marco - the way she felt she was supposed to.

"Will, please think about what you're doing."

The more she moved, the more her wrists hurt from the metal handcuffs.

"Will please"
She begged in a whisper

"I'm doing this for you Madison, can you not see that?"

Tears continuously rolled down her cheeks as she sobbed

"I'm protecting you from him."

His eyes were dark and full of anger.

Madison thought that Will must be crazy. Hannibal had warned her about speaking to him before, and now she knows exactly why - he's dangerous.

"If you let me out now, i won't tell Hannibal anything - we can pretend this never happened."

Will finally looked at her, but it was a look of confusion - he couldn't understand how she still thought that Hannibal wasn't someone to be scared of.

"I'm helping you!"
He shouted

Madison knew now that nothing she said would make him stop, so she started looking  around the car for things to help her. However, after searching for a few minutes, she couldn't find a single thing.
There was only one option left.
She unclipped her seatbelt slowly and then her hand inched towards the door handle. Once her fingers curled around the handle, she looked over to Will and then on the road, waiting for the perfect moment. When she saw that the road was clear and Will wasn't looking in her direction, she pulled the handle towards her and then pushed the door open.
The sound of the wind was so loud that Will's shouts where bearly audible. Once Will slowed down only slightly in order to reach towards her and pull her away from the door, she leaped out.

Before she knew it, Will's car was out of her sight and she was lying on the road in excruciating pain. She wondered whether the ringing sound that filled her head was an ambulance coming to help her, but then realised that there wasn't a single thing in sight. It was almost pitch black now and the road was isolated.

She knew that she had to move, she had to get back to Hannibal... but where was he? She had no clue which direction they came from - and even if she did, she doubted whether she'd make it there alive.
Despite her whole body aching and stinging, she forced herself up and began walking along the road. Once she came to a lone street lamp she realised the severity of her injuries. Her legs where covered in blood, as well as her hands. Her body was full of cuts and bruises. And when she touched the top of her head, she felt as if she'd jumped out of the car all over again.

She kept walking in the same direction, not knowing wether it was the right way or not, and hoped to see a house in sight soon. While she walked, she memorised what she'd say to the first person she sees. This task took her mind off of her pain slightly, yet it didn't help her shivering from the cold air.

After only a few more minutes of walking, she had to sit down on the side of the road. She knew she should've kept walking, but her legs were about to give way any minute. While sat down, she analysed how deeps the cuts where, just as she'd seen Hannibal doing before. The ones on her legs weren't that bad, and most of them had stopped bleeding now, however, the ones on her arms were deep - perhaps it had something to do with the handcuffs that still restricted her.

Rain then started to pour down violently, so Madison decided to start moving again. Her eyes searched for sign of life, yet there was nothing. She began to lose hope. She started to think about how easy it could be to give up and be reunited with her parents. The only thing better than that thought, was being wrapped in Hannibal's safe arms, so she kept moving.

Finally, she could see a faint light in the distance. She began running as fast as she could in hope to be home soon.

Once she came closer to the light, she realised that it was a small bus shelter. She looked at the board full of times and saw that the last bus came around an hour ago. The hope that had filled her seconds ago, was lost completely. She sat down on the bench under the shelter and was thankful to be out of the rain. Her limbs felt numb from the coldness, but it meant that the stabbing pain in her arms and head had now turned to a dull ache.
She lay down on the small bench, bringing her knees into her chest in hope it was make her less cold.
As she let her eyes close, she listened to the sound of the rain hitting the wooden shelter. She knew the last thing she should be doing right now was sleeping, especially with a suspected concussion, but she had no energy left.

A few hours later, Madison's eyes drifted open slightly. She could barely see anything in the pitch black but she felt herself being carried in someone's arms. The only thing she could hear was the ringing in her ears and her eyes wouldn't stay open for any longer than a few seconds. All she wanted to do was call out and beg them to put her down, but she couldn't speak or move - she was in too much pain. In a struggle to speak, she let out a muffled groan. The person hushed her and continued walking.

Madison woke with a start a few hours later.
She looked around her quickly and saw that she was in some sort of hospital room. The beeping of the monitor rung in her ears and the wires attached to her were irritating. Her breathing slowed down once she looked besides her. Hannibal was sat next to her bed on a chair, with her hand in his. She stared at her wrists and saw that the handcuffs had been replaced with bandages. She knew that everything had to have been real, but knew nothing of what happened after arriving at the bus station - it all felt like a dream that had faded over time.

Hannibal soon felt her shaking hands and woke up.

"It's okay, i'm here."
He whispered

"Hannibal," She said in a shaky voice, "what happened?"

"I looked everywhere for you."

"How did you find me? I didn't even know where i was?"
Her voice was raspy from not speaking for a while

"When i came home and found that you gone, i was so worried. I drove down every street looking for you. I was three hours in when i saw you asleep on a bench."

"W-Will... he-"

"You don't need to worry Madison, everything has been taken care of."

His thumb stroked the soft skin on the back of her hand.

"What happened to him?"

Hannibal smiled.

"He won't be able to hurt you anymore."

"Hannibal... he said things - scary things."

"Will is very sick - anything he said, he said so that you would trust him."

"I know," she whispered, "it just scared me."

"I should've never left you. I should've known he would come."

"You could've never known he would do something like this, Hannibal."

They stared into each other's eyes, and for a moment, it felt as if nothing had ever happened.

"I never ever want to see him again."
She whispered

Hannibal was pleased, because he knew that even if she did, she wouldn't be able to.

He placed his hand on her cheek, slowly moving his thumb across her skin.
The beeping of the monitor quickened, they both looked over to the machine. Hannibal couldn't help but smile while Madison's cheeks became red.

He then removed his hand and picked up a cup, which he bought up to her lips.

"Drink"

As she sipped the water, her eyes stayed on Hannibal. She couldn't believe that she was alive.
A part of her still doubted that she was. She thought that maybe she died on that bench, and this was some sort of heaven.

He took the cup away from her lips and placed it down onto the bed side table.

"Do you now understand me when i tell you that it is dangerous to be without me?"

"I do."

He smiled and bought his hand up to her face to wipe away a tear.

"I thought i may never see you again."
He said

Madison stayed silent

"What you did was reckless, Madison."
He said, referring to how she got her injuries

"I know"
she whispered

"You could have died."

"I know."

"Then why do it?"

"I rather risk my life then never see you again."

Hannibal paused.
He felt a mixture of emotions. On one hand, he couldn't have been happier with the dependency she had on him, but on the other, he knew that he was the reason she had nearly died.

"Don't ever risk your life like that again. Not for me, not for anyone."

She nodded, but knew that if she had to relive it, she'd make the same decision over and over.

Hannibal watched as Madison fell asleep. Not long after, a doctor entered the room and asked if it was an appropriate time for a check up. Although he wanted Madison nowhere near another man, he allowed him to come in.

As he approached her, Hannibal watched intensely. His eyes followed the doctor's hands as he removed the stethoscope and placed the metal onto her chest. Hannibal couldn't help but fantasise about snapping his head, right there, and seeing how Madison would react.

After the doctor had finished, he left the room. Hannibal pulled her gown up, in order to cover her chest more. His hands then moved onto her lips. His body grew tense at the thought of touching her.
He then thought about Will touching her. He thought about him putting the handcuffs on her wrists, and forcing her to get into his car.
Instead of these thoughts angering him like they usually would, they just pleased him. They pleased him because he knew that he couldn't hurt her any longer.
Hannibal smiled at the memory of plunging a knife into Will's stomach and hearing him scream. He couldn't wait to serve him to Madison. He was desperate to watch her bite into his heart - the same heart that had betrayed Hannibal.
