We last saw our protagonists taking on Grant and obtaining the 2nd Gym Badge then (Y/n) followed a Flare Grunt into Geosenge Town then she battled Korrina, now we see the trio exiting Reflection Cave but enough of that lets get on with the meat and potatoes
(Y/n)'s p.o.v
(Y/n): finally we've arrived!
Serena: it wasn't that bad (Y/n)
Shauna: yeah, you're just complaining because you forgot to stock up on items
(Y/n): shush up! I don't need to hear this right now!
Serena: *giggles* well let's head towards the Gym and say hi to Korrina then challenge her
(Y/n): sure let's head over then
As we head towards the Gym I hear Tierno call out us so we turn around and see them walk towards us
Tierno: hey girls! How's your journey going?
Trevor: hello you three! Let's compare our Coastal Kalos Pokédexes and see who has seen more kinds of Pokémon!
(Y/n): well our adventure been going well Tierno and maybe later Trevor
Tierno: well get this! I've met some Pokémon with some really sick moves!
Trevor: oh! I just remembered. The Professor told is to say hello to the Mega Evolution guru when we reached Shalour City...
Tierno: that's right! He did say that! *faces Trevor* ummm... Who were we supposed to say hello to again?
(Y/n): you've got to be kidding me... someone called the Mega Evolution guru Tierno
Tierno: oh, that's right! He did say that!
(Y/n): give me a damn break...
Tierno: well we should probably look for the Mega Evolution guru, then! Where do you think he is anyway?
Trevor: I heard he's in that imposing building deep in the city *points to a tower* the Tower of Mastery
Shauna: well let's head over there
So we we all make our way towards the tower but Tierno stops me for something
Tierno: hey (Y/n), check this out!
(Y/n): is it a new dance?
Tierno: isn't this stone cool? *shows (Y/n) the stone* I got it from a this wandering stone collector for showing off my cool dance moves! It might be a Mega Stone! So here, you can have it, since you're such an amazing Trainer and all
(Y/n): *takes the Intriguing Stone from Tierno* wow thanks Tierno, now let's catch up with the others
Tierno nods in agreement and we catch up with the rest of the group and then they all make are our way into the tower and into a small room underneath a giant Lucario statue
Narrator's p.o.v
Once very makes it into the room to find both the guru and Korrina talking to each other, then they see the group entering the room
Gurkinn: oh? You all must be Sycamore's students, then he must has told me about you all be arriving. I'm the Mega Evolution guru. I guess you could say I'm an acquaintance of his. Oh, but Mega Evolution guru isn't my real name of course it's Gurkinn. Now could you all please come here for a moment *the group walks towards Gurkinn* now who you might be?
Shauna: I'm Shauna!
Serena: my name is Serena, it's a pleasure to meet you
Tierno: I'm Tierno
Trevor: my name is Trevor
(Y/n): and I'm (Y/n)
Gurkinn: well it's a pleasure to meet you all, Sycamore's pupils! *notices the Intriguing Stone that (Y/n)* what's this now? (Y/n) were you the one that found that stone?
(Y/n): no I didn't find it, it was given to me
Tierno: what?! Uh, it was you who found it, RIGHT, (Y/n)?
Gurkinn: well, who found it doesn't really matter. What's important is that you were honest. Because if you tell lies, the truth is clouded and eventually lost... and while we're being honest, that stone is just an ordinary rock
(Y/n): and here I thought that it was something cool...
Gurkinn: sorry to burst your bubble, now if everyone could head out to the main hall I want to show and tell you something
With Gurkinn leaving the room with Tierno, Trevor and Shauna following behind him, Korrina taps on (Y/n)'s and Serena's shoulder
Korrina: hey there! So you made it to Shalour City
Serena: with some minor challenges
(Y/n): my hatred for caves has grown even more and Zubats weren't involved...
Korrina: *giggles at (Y/n)'s statement* well Lucario is in their Pokéball, but he's really happy to see you! Well, we should see what gramps wants! *exits the room with (Y/n) and Serena*
With everyone now outside, Gurkinn clears his throat to get everyone's attention which was achieved quite quickly
Tierno: Mr. Mega Evolution Guru... I've been meaning to ask, who is that next to you?
Gurkinn: this is my Granddaughter Korrina. She's Shalour City's Gym Leader. So, Sycamore's pupils. Now that you're all here, I should probably explain Mega Evolution is. I assume you all know what evolution is, correct?
(Y/n): three out of the five us know about it
Shauna: um... you have your Pokémon battle a lot, then they grow stronger and evolve! Oh, and there are Pokémon that evolve with specific items
Serena: some Pokémon evolve through friendship and others only evolve in certain places
Gurkinn: exactly! And likely that Pokémon evolve in a lot of other ways as well!
(Y/n): subject no. 1; Eevee
Korrina: that is an excellent example (Y/n) but Mega Evolution is an evolution that transcends all other evolution!
Gurkinn: indeed! Mega Evolution is a transformation of Pokémon that were thought to be able to evolve any further! It's a whole new level of power!
Trevor: so in an evolutionary like Charmander, Charmeleon and Charizard... does that mean Charizard would be able to evolve even further?
Korrina: yep! Exactly right! But not all Pokémon have a Mega Evolution
Gurkinn: there's a reason why I used the word "transformation" a moment ago. Mega Evolution differ from evolution because it ends after certain amount of time, in other words, it's only temporary
Shauna: so it evolves but then it goes back to what it was before?
Korrina: yes... Mega Evolution is a special kind of evolution. That said, we still know very little about it. What we know now is that it requires special items. And the most important element is the trust between Pokémon and Trainer
Serena: trust... so the bond between Trainer and Pokémon!
Gurkinn: to make Mega Evolution work, you need two items; a Mega Stone for the Pokémon and the Key Stone that's normally found in a Mega Ring, for the Trainer. Since Professor Sycamore entrusted each of you with a Pokédex, I would like to give these items to you all... I'd like to share them with you but...
Shauna: but? But what? Just come out and say it already!
(Y/n): settle down Shauna
Gurkinn: sorry, but presently, I have two Key Stones but only one Mega Ring... it's a very precious item. That's why my research isn't getting anywhere... so, I want all of you to decide among yourselves which one of you will one who challenges the Mega Evolution Successor
Tierno: I'll pass, Pokémon battling isn't really my scene. So Mega Evolution would be way out of my league
Shauna: as much as would love to, I think I need to get to know my Pokémon first before I take the challenge
Trevor: I want to complete the Pokédex first. If you try to much at once, you won't accomplish anything
Shauna: so that leaves (Y/n) and Serena then
Tierno: Trainers don't get much better then you two
(Y/n): very well then, say Serena
Serena: yeah?
(Y/n): *pulls out a Pokéball* let's battle for it!
Serena: wait really?!
(Y/n): yeah it's a good way for the two of us to compete and see how well your training has paid off
Serena: ok then, I accept your challenge!
As everyone clears a space for the two Trainers and as they prepare their Pokémon (Y/n) speaks up
(Y/n): let's keep this fight short, so your three strongest Pokémon
Serena: sure!
With the conditions met for the battle both
Trainers send out their first Pokémon, with Serena bringing out Meowstic and (Y/n) sends out Charmeleon
Serena: ok Meowstic use psyshock!
(Y/n): dodge! Then use dragon rage!
Meowstic forms a small purple orb in her hands then fires three dark purple beams from the orb and Charmeleon manages to dodge all of the beams and the flame on his tail changes from red to a purple, he then fires a power a powerful blast of purple energy at Meowstic which hits it's target and his tail flame returns to it's natural colour
Serena: Meowstic! You ok!? *Meowstic gives Serena a nod* ok then. Use psybeam!
Meowstic's unfolds her ears then their eyes glow brightly as well as the eye-shaped glands on the ears glow as well and fires a magenta beam of energy with multicolored particles inside from her mouth and manages to hit Charmeleon
(Y/n): Charmeleon it's all up to you! Do your worst!
Serena: not good
Gurkinn: very interesting
With Chrameloen off his leach, he charges straight at Meowstic with orange flames growing in his mouth
Serena: Meowstic get out of the way!
Serena would realise that her command would be useless as Charmelon fires a fireball from its mouth at Meowstic which lands right of her and tries to dodge the splashing embers and before Serena could say something, Chrameloen jumped through the fire and flames and uses fire fang and bites down on Meowstic and slams her into the ground then scratches the Pokémon until she faints, then suddenly dust starts to spiral around Charmelon and a white shine could be seen, once the dust settles down Charmeleon is no longer there but has evolved into Charizard
Serena:*returns Meowstic* he evolved during battle!? Ok then, Absol I choose!!
With Absol now in the battle both Pokémon stare the other one down as Absol's horn quietly hums as it senses danger from the Charizard
Serena: Absol! Use night slash!
Absol's horn glows white and dashes at Charizard and he slashes but misses due to Charizard's quicker movement, now with Charizard dodging the attack he goes for his own attack and uses fire fang and bites Absol's horn and slams them into the ground
(Y/n): alright Charizard, let's bring it home!
Charizard let's put a loud roar and flies into the air then his wings glow light blue. He then flaps its wings, firing multiple light-blue, glowing blades of energy at Absol, which leaves Absol barely standing
Serena: Absol use perish song!
As Absol starts to sing releases crimson soundwaves at Charizard, who flies straight at Absol and uses fire fang which makes Absol faint but Charizard as well
(Y/n): not bad, not bad at all! Ok then Greninja it's all up to you!
With Greninja ready for battle and Serena sends out her last Pokémon which happens to be Blastoise
(Y/n): alright Greninja, use shadow sneak!
Greninja starts to approach Blastoise as the turtle tank prepares himself for the attack but both Serena and Blastoise failed to notice Greninja's shadow moving towards Blastoise then disappears into thin air then reappears behind Blastoise and delivers a kick to Blastoise's shell knocking him slightly forward
Serena: use rapid spin!
Blastoise tucks all of his limbs and cannons into his shell and spins around, hitting Greninja hard enough to fly towards a wall but Greninja stops himself
Serena: now use water pulse!
Blastoise fires a blast of water at Greninja from each of its cannons, one after the other forcing Greninja to dodge and get closer to Blastoise
Serena: now use aqua tail!
Blastoise's tail glows light blue and it spins it around and hits a Greninja whom is posing but suddenly vanishes and leaves a log behind that gets smashed in two
Serena: what!
Gurkinn: Greninja used substitute...
Korrina: where could he be now?
As everyone looked around to figure out where Greninja could reappear from only to hear (Y/n) yell something
(Y/n): fool! You fell for Greninja's counter! Now foot dive!
Greninja appears above Blastoise at an 25° angle with his arms crossed and kicks the back of Blastoise's head and continues to "foot dive" Blastoise until the artillery turtle grabs Greninja and throws him at a wall but felt something hit the back of his shell then another "foot dive" to the head
Serena: *shock covers her face* when did this happen?
With everyone else they all have the same question running through their minds and Korrina speaks up
Korrina: two Greninjas?!
Gurkinn: something doesn't seem right...
Shauna: well The Professor didn't give us more then one Pokémon when we all started and (Y/n) hasn't use the daycare
Gurkinn: then something was planned then
As Gurkinn continues to think about what caused the second Greninja to appear, as the two slowly close in on Blastoise but completely in sync with each other then the first Greninja uses shadow sneak and kicks Blastoise forwards then the second Greninja uses night slash then they both jump away, then the first one creates a water shuriken as the other creates a shadow ball, they both launch their attacks, hitting Blastoise and making him faint
Serena: what?! Oh looks like I lost...
(Y/n): don't worry about it, you did really well
Serena: thanks but the bond between you and your Pokémon are really strong
(Y/n): well getting to battle with your Pokémon is one thing but getting to know your Pokémon also helps in battles
Serena: I'll remember that and I'm sure you'll be able to Mega Evolve you Pokémon
Korrina: *walks towards the two* there will be winners and losers in a Pokémon battle. But I really thought that you two and your Pokémon were all winners! Mega Evolution is nothing more then just making your Pokémon stronger. As (Y/n) said there is more ways to bring out Pokémon's strength without Mega Evolution
Gurkinn: well then, (Y/n)! First you should challenge Korrina
Korrins: Pokémon need a Mega Stone! And trainers need a Mega Ring! Well then (Y/n), my Lucario may have taken a shine to you, but now I must test you to see if you're ready to Challenge the Mega Evolution successor! I'll be waiting for you at the Gym! And don't worry the rest of you can challenge me at the Gym too! *skates her way out of building*
(Y/n): *faces Gurkinn* but didn't you say that you have two Key Stones?
Gurkinn: yes I do, why do you ask?
(Y/n): for starters I notice Korrina has a Key Stone on her left glove, shouldn't she need a Mega Ring?
Gurkinn: ah now I get it, I'm guessing you want to give that ring to someone else so they can Mega Evolve their Pokémon *chuckles to himself* my you're quite selfless, hmm I could make an attachment to that watch of yours
(Y/n): I would love that, thank you *hands Gurkinn her Pokétch*
Gurkinn: it'll most likely be finished once you battled Korrina *walks into his office*
Serena: The Professor is gonna love to hear all about this!
Shauna: well, that's what The Professor wanted us to do, after all! He said we should aim to the best Trainers we can be and enjoy our journey!
Trevor: *faces Tierno* Tierno. Shall we work to be the best Trainers can be, too?
Tierno: all right then! Let's aim for the top! But before we do head off, (Y/n) what's with the second Greninja *points at the Greninjas that haven't returned to their balls*
(Y/n): does anyone remember the first battle that Shauna and I had?
Shauna: why yes I do, why bring that up?
(Y/n) doesn't answer right away but with a snap of her fingers the Greninja on her right starts to glow bright pink and reveals Zororak but with her colours slightly different as her fur is slightly lighter then when she was a Zorua, her mane is tied back but is white with red tips as red fur in her ears, red spots could be seen on her arms and legs, Zororak's claws are a deep navy colour with red points and having Heterochromia eyes with her right eye having a teal colour and other one being yellow with red markings
Serena: woah! Is Zororak suppose to look like this?
(Y/n): not that I know of *pats Zororak snout* I'll need to contact Professor Juniper and Professor Rowen
Trevor: I would get asking Unova's Professor and all, but why Sinnoh's?
(Y/n): last time I was at his lab, he was talking to my Mum about how Saturn the current boss of The Galactic found an old book that was full of Pokémon entries and it had Pokédex written on the cover
Trevor: I see, well Tierno and I will be heading off see ya you three *walks out the building with Tierno following behind*
Shauna: so (N/n), when are you going to talk to those Professors?
(Y/n): probably after battling Korrina and the Successor
Serena: let's not keep Korrina waiting then
With smiles on everyone's face they head out and go to the Gym to challenge Korrina for the Rumble Badge

(Y/n)'s p.o.v
After battling Korrina and obtaining the Rumble Badge, Serena and I are walking back towards the Tower of Mastery to talk to Gurkinn as Shauna stays at the Pokécentre
Serena: so what did Korrina say to you after you obtained the Rumble Badge?
(Y/n): she said wants to battle me again as equals that have the ability to Mega Evolve
Serena: she said the same to me as well
(Y/n): well let's not dwindle to much and let's head inside
Serena nods in agreement as we enter the tower and see Gurkinn waiting for us outside his office
Gurkinn: oh (Y/n), Serena! Korr- I mean the Mega Evolution Successor, is waiting for you two at the top of the tower and (Y/n), your watch is with the successor
I nod at Gurkinn, then we make make our towards the spiralling ramp but we were stopped by a tower member
Tower member: *steps in front of the two* sorry but only those who have been approved may climb the Tower of Mastery! *gets a good look at Serena and (Y/n)* Oh! You're... apologies, you may pass! *walks back to their original position*
Serena and I shrug our shoulders at each other then once we make it to the top of the tower and walk through the door and we see Korrina
(Y/n): I had my suspicions but I didn't think they'll be right
Korrina: I really love this place! When I'm here with my Pokémon, looking at wide-open sky above, all my worries just disappear and I feel like I can do anything! *turns and faces the duo* thanks for coming all the way up here
Serena: it's no problem Korrina
Korrina: it was decided that this place must be where the Mega Ring is handed over, or in this case a modded watch and Mega Ring. Something about making sure we never forget to set our sights as high as the sky. And here you two are your modified watch and Mega Ring!
Narrator's p.o.v
As Korrina hands (Y/n) her Pokétch back and Serena the Mega Ring, then they strap their respective items to their left wrists as the Key Stones shine in evening sun
Korrina: so if you give your Pokémon the right Mega Stone and try battling with it! Your Pokémon will surely answer the call of the Key Stone! *notices something wrong with Lucario* hmm? Lucario, what's wrong?
Lucario: I wish to fight with (Y/n) in this battle
Korrina: Lucario, are you sure?
Lucario: yes I'm sure
Korrina: I don't know what to say... I'm a bit shocked that some Trainer seems to have a stronger bond with you then I do... haha! Well, she must be something special! So what do you say (Y/n)? Will you and Lucario battle against me and my Lucario?
(Y/n): so a Lucario-on-Lucario battle? You betcha
Korrina: that's good to hear, also they both have Lucarionite in hand! How about we get this show on the road?
(Y/n) smiles and makes some space as the two Lucarios get between the the Trainers ready to listen for their commands
(Y/n): let's try out this Mega Evolution. Lucario break past your limits and go further beyond! Mega Evolve! *taps the Key Stone and raises it past her head*
A bright light shines out from the Key Stone as well as the Lucarionite as it shines over Lucario and once the light dies down (Y/n) can see that Lucario has slimmer thighs, and longer yellow colored fur. Its paws become crimson and have grown more spikes. There are black markings on its blue fur due to its heightened aura. The sensory bundles also grown longer with two of them having crimson tips. Its eyes have changed from red to orange. The same could be said said for Korrina's Lucario as it has also Mega Evolved
(Y/n): Riley would love to see this, since his bond with Lucario is unbreakable! Focus (Y/n)! Ok Lucario use power-up punch!
Korrina: use power-up as well!
Both Lucarios charge at each other and they both land powerful punches to the mid-section and sliding back from the impact
(Y/n): man that's some power!! Ok then, use bone rush!
Korrina: use power-up punch!
As Korrina's Lucario rushes forwards, (Y/n)'s Lucario holds out his hands and makes a bone out of aura stopping the other Lucario's punch, then starts hitting the other one with the bone until they could barely stand straight but collapses to the floor and faints
Korrina: what an amazing bond you have and what amazing power! *returns Lucario into their ball* what an explosive battle! I could tell that both you and Lucario didn't hold anything back!
(Y/n): it's like something clicked between use
Korrina: with strong bonds like that, you shouldn't have any trouble triggering you Pokémon's Mega Evolution!
Lucario: indeed
Korrina: I think it would be best if you took Lucario with you, so he'll be able take on stronger opponents, since two make such an incredible team
(Y/n): sure I'll take him along
Korrina: *smiles at (Y/n)'s words* as long as Pokémon and Trainers have the kindness to care for each other and give each other courage, the world will be full of smiles!
(Y/n): well thanks for everything Korrina *faces Serena* I'll see you down at the Pokécentre
Serena: alrighty then I'll see you there and I hope you can find out why Zororak looks different
(Y/n): worry I will
As Serena starts to talk to Korrina, we see (Y/n) walking down the ramp to base floor looking at Zororak's ball as a million questions swarm her head and hoping to get some answers. After a solid 5 minute walk (Y/n) heads inside the Pokécentre and asks Nurse Joy if the centre has a International Communication Station and when shown where it is, (Y/n) goes over to it and contact Professor Rowan who picks up the call
Prof. Rowan (I.C.S): hello, you are speaking with Professor Rowan how may I help?
(Y/n): hey Professor, it's (Y/n)
Prof. Rowan (I.C.S): young (Y/n) it's good to hear from you, how is Kalos treating you
(Y/n): everything is going well, but do you happen to know Professor Juniper by any chance?
Prof. Rowan (I.C.S): I do know her, since after you brought Zorua back from Unova
(Y/n): then that was a silly question to ask then... so Zorua evolved into Zororak today but something has happened and since I know you've got that old book in your lab and Professor Juniper has the completed Unovan Pokédex, I was hoping that you two could look into it
Prof. Rowan (I.C.S): of course I'll be happy to look into it, if you could place Zororak's ball into the into the side dish so Zororak's information can transferred to me that would lovely
(Y/n) listens to Rowan's words and places the ball into the electrical tray and after about 5 seconds a ding could heard signifying that the info transfer is complete and it's safe to remove the ball
(Y/n): is that everything Professor?
Prof. Rowan (I.C.S): yes it is and don't worry Juniper and I will solve this
With the conversation over and saying their goodbyes (Y/n) hangs up the call and walks to her room that she's sharing with Serena and Shauna as normal
Shauna: hey (N/n), did you get to talk with Sinnoh's Professor?
(Y/n): I did, he said he'll contact Professor Juniper when the sun rises in Unova
Shauna: well that's good to hear!
(Y/n): *notices the Mega Ring* I'm guessing Serena is here?
Shauna: yep! She's having a quick bath right now
Before (Y/n) could form a sentence comes out of the bathroom with nothing but a towel that is clinging to her body which forces (Y/n) to look away as a blush starts to coat her face as well as Serena's
(Y/n): don't get a hard, don't get a hard on, for the love of Arceus don't get a hard on. H-hey Serena
Serena: h-hey (Y/n), did y-you mange to talk to Sinnoh's Professor?
(Y/n): yeah I did, now if you excuse me I need to use the bathroom!
As (Y/n) carefully power walks past Serena and into the bathroom and locking the door behind her and turning on the shower and once everything calmed down a bit Serena could hear Shauna giggle at what played out in front of her
Serena: stop giggling Shauna! This isn't a laughing matter!
Shauna: sorry Serena, it's just that situation that played out like a Romcom that I watched when I was younger
Serena: it's fine, just keep quiet about it ok
Shauna: don't worry I will, also I think you've got feelings for (N/n) don't ya
Serena: what makes you say that?
Shauna: well when ever we are walking to next town I see you catch glimpses at (Y/n) when ever you can
Serena: i-it's n-not like that at all!
Shauna: sure it isn't but you might want to play your cards soon Serena, because you're not the only one whose got feelings for her
Serena: you mean...
Shauna: yep I've grown feelings towards her myself. But I'll let your mind linger on that for awhile because I'm starting to get tired, so night Serena
With Shauna's words echo through Serena's mind as she puts on her sleepwear and gets into and slowly drift off to sleep and that ends today's chapter I hoped you enjoyed it and I hope to see you soon bye bye
