Today is the special day for Lena, which she hopes will be one of the most important days of her life, the day she asks Kara to marry her, Kara's earth birthday. Lena has everything planned out for today, and she knows how she's going to propose and everything. However, there is still one final thing she needs to do. One final person who she needs to talk to, to tell her what is going on, and get her to help her with the proposal.
Lena quietly gets up from her bed, with Kara still sleeping, not wanting to wake her hopefully soon to be fiancé. Thankfully, Kara doesn't wake, and Lena then quietly leaves the room and creeps into her daughter's bedroom, who is still asleep.
"Alura?" Lena says softly, placing a kiss on the 5-year-old's cheek.
Alura slowly wakes up and opens her eyes, and grows a smile on her face upon seeing Lena.
"Momma." Alura says, tiredly, with a yawn.
"Hello, darling." Lena smiles, "It's mommy's birthday today. Would you like to help me make breakfast for her, that she can eat in bed?"
"Yes." Alura nods, happily.
Lena picks Alura up in her arms, and then carries the 5-year-old downstairs, and then places her down on one of the kitchen stools.
"What are we going to make?" Alura asks.
"Actually, before we do that, I wanted to talk to you about something." Lena says, taking a seat next to Alura.
"Okay..." Alura replies.
"I love mommy very much, and I know we are already a family, but today I want to make that official, as I am planning to propose to mommy, by asking her to marry me." Lena explains.
Alura's eyes light up upon hearing this, the remainder of her tiredness completely disappearing.
"Really?" Alura says, with a big smile on her face.
"Yes." Lena nods, "But I only want to do it if you are okay with it."
"Yes." Alura nods, and then takes Lena in for a hug, basically leaping into Lena's lap.
Lena hugs Alura back, feeling such relief. Lena knew that Alura would be okay with her and Kara getting married, but she still needed to be sure.
"Does this mean when you are married we will all have the same last names?" Alura asks.
Lena chuckles.
"Yes, darling. We will all have the last names Luthor-Danvers." Lena replies.
"Good." Alura smiles happily, with a nod of her head.
"Okay." Lena says, ending her hug, "But obviously you can't tell mommy about me proposing to her, alright?"
"Yes." Alura nods.
"Perfect, because I want you to help me with it." Lena says.
"How?" Alura asks, curiously.
"Well, I thought that after we have a nice morning together, just the three of us, by eating our breakfast, and then giving mommy her presents, we could all take a nice hike." Lena explains, "On the hike, when we are in the right place, I'm going to ask you to take a picture of me and mommy, and I'll give you my phone. However, I'll actually set my phone to record. So you'll pretend to be taking a picture of us, but be recording, and I will then get down on one knee and ask mommy to marry me. Do you think you can do that for me?"
"Yes. I can do it." Alura smiles happily, "Can we go now?"
Lena chuckles.
"Hold your horses, darling." Lena smiles, placing a kiss on the top of Alura's head, so happy how eager Alura is over the proposal, "We need to make mommy her breakfast first."
"Okay." Alura nods.
"And I think you and I both know what mommy would like for breakfast." Lena says.
Alura smiles widely at Lena again.
"Pancakes!" Alura exclaims.
Lena chuckles once more.
Lena and Alura then begin working together, making a bunch of pancakes, and all sorts of different toppings for them, including the unhealthy ones, as Lena knows they are the ones that Kara likes the most, and it is her earth birthday after all. Although it's not like Lena doesn't have a completely selfish reason to make sure Kara is in the best mood possible today.
"Okay." Lena smiles, once they finish cooking the 3 stacks of pancakes, "I think we've made enough. If I put these plates of pancakes on a tray, can you carry them upstairs to mommy, while I carry all the bowls of toppings on another tray?"
"Yes, okay." Alura nods, confidently.
Lena smiles at Alura, and then hands her the tray. After that, the two slowly walk up the stairs, making sure to be careful and not drop any food on the floor or anything.
A few moments later, Lena and Alura quietly walk into Kara and Lena's bedroom, where Kara is still sleeping. Once Lena notices this, she begins to think of ways to wake up Kara, although she knows that Alura would happily jump on Kara, and startle her wake. However, before Lena's thoughts can progress any further, Kara starts sniffling, and then opens her eyes a few moments later, looking directly at Lena and Alura, and, of course, the food.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Alura yells, excitedly.
Kara smiles at both Lena and Alura.
"Happy birthday, darling." Lena smiles, and moves over to the bed with Kara, putting the food down on it.
"Thank you, both of you. Am I having breakfast in bed?" Kara asks, with a smile.
"Yes." Alura nods, eagerly.
"That's great. These pancakes look yummy." Kara says, licking her lips.
"Yeah. I thought you'd enjoy this as the start to your day." Lena smiles.
"Oh, I certainly will." Kara nods back, "But before that, I would like a birthday kiss."
Lena grows a big smile on her face upon Kara asking her that, however, before she can make a move to take Kara in for a kiss, Alura climbs on the bed and kisses Kara on one of her checks.
Kara chuckles.
"Why thank you, Alura." Kara says, "Although I was asking for a kiss from momma."
"Oh." Alura says, and then shifts in the bed to move next to Kara, with her legs under the covers.
Lena chuckles again, and then walks over to Kara, taking her in for a tender loving kiss, putting all of her love into it, thinking about how today is going to be an amazing day, and being so excited by it.
"Hmmmmmm.... That was a very nice kiss." Kara hums, happily, as soon as she and Lena part.
"Good." Lena nods back, with a smile.
Lena then moves to sit in the bed herself, with Alura being between both Kara and Lena. The family all then begin eating their breakfast.
"So, do we have some plans for today?" Kara asks, "Or, I should ask more specifically, do you have plans for me today?"
Upon Kara asking her this, Lena feels her heart do a little flip, wondering if Kara knows that she plans to propose to her today or something. Although Lena is pretty sure that if Kara knew the blonde Kryptonian would certainly not be able to keep it a secret from her, as she would just blab it out at some point.
"Yes. I was thinking we could have this nice breakfast, and a lazy morning. Then after, we can give you your presents, and then go for a family hike. Alex, Sam, Ruby and your other friends are going to be coming over here later this afternoon/evening." Lena says.
"And I'm going to take your picture!" Alura says, excitedly.
Kara grows a bit of a confused look on her face upon hearing Alura say that, but then just laughs, putting it down to Alura being excited. Lena however, gives Alura a little light elbow. The last thing Lena wants is for Alura to accidentally ruin her proposal by telling Kara about it.
"Well, that all sounds lovely. But now let's eat!" Kara says, and then begins shoving a bunch of pancakes in her mouth.
Lena rolls her eyes.
"I should have realised this would be how this morning would go." Lena smirks, "You wake up because you smelt the food, and then you shove it in your face like you haven't eaten in weeks."
"I woke up because I heard you both!" Kara protests.
"No, you didn't, darling. Don't lie." Lena replies.
Kara lets out a little huff.
"Fine. I did wake up because I smelt it. But it's my birthday! You can't be mean to me." Kara says, with a small pout.
Lena chuckles, and then places a kiss on one of Kara's cheeks.
"I wouldn't dream of it, darling." Lena purrs.

It is now about an hour later, and Lena, Alura and Kara all very much enjoyed their breakfast in bed, with the brunette making sure Kara didn't even have to do the dishes or anything. Although, to be fair, the penthouse does have a dishwasher, so it's not like Lena did the dishes either.
Presently, Kara, Lena and Alura are sitting in their living room, having all washed and got dressed, preparing to give Kara her presents.
"Okay." Lena says, as she moves the presents in front of Kara, onto the coffee table, "I think you should open up Alura's first."
"Yes!" Alura says, excitedly, picking up her two presents and handing them to Kara.
"Okay." Kara chuckles, happily.
Kara opens up her first present from Alura, which is revealed to be a nice fancy notepad.
"A notepad?" Kara asks, with a smile.
"Yes." Alura nods, still happily, "Momma said you could write some of your ideas in there."
"Yeah. I know you are thinking about going back to CatCo, so I thought you could use it to jot down some article ideas or something?" Lena explains.
"I love it. Thank you." Kara smiles, happily, placing a kiss on the top of Alura's head.
"Now open your other one!" Alura says, excitedly.
Kara picks up her second present from Alura, and unwraps it, revealing a photo album. Kara then begins to flick through the album and she sees a bunch of pictures of herself and Alura, as well as some with herself, Alura and Lena also. Then, on top of the pictures, there are also some drawings of all three of them, which Alura has clearly done.
"It's picture of our family!" Alura says, excitedly.
"This is amazing, Alura." Kara says, with some tears in her eyes, being a bit overwhelmed by just how incredible her little family is.
Kara thinks how just over 5 years ago, when she first had Alura, she was so scared. Kara thought that she'd screwed up her entire life, and had no idea how she was going to work and raise a daughter. But Alex, and Kara's other friends, stepped up and helped her, and they were truly incredible. However, Kara always felt like something was missing, that there wasn't someone else there to help her raise Alura, but that stopped when Lena came into their lives. Lena is that person for Kara, the other parent which Kara has always wanted, the person who has completed their family, and made it whole.
Alura hugs Kara tightly, and Kara simply hugs her daughter back. Meanwhile, Lena looks on at the sight and is so happy, just soaking it in. It makes Lena think about what she plans to do in a few hours' time, and she honestly isn't sure if her heart can take it, from all the happiness.
"Okay. I should open mommy's presents to me now." Kara says, after a few moments of hugging Alura.
"Yes." Alura nods, ending her hug with Kara.
"Here you go, darling." Lena says, first handing Kara a card.
Kara opens the card, which ends up being a standard birthday card, but inside are two tickets to a 7-course meal for a restaurant in London, England.
"Oh Rao!" Kara says, excitedly, "7 courses of food!"
Lena chuckles, knowing food was the way to her girlfriend's heart.
"Yes. It's a restaurant in London that does a wide variety of different foods, and the portions aren't small either. We can book a table, for the two of us, anytime within the next year." Lena explains, "Obviously getting to London and back won't be an issue for us."
Kara looks up at Lena and smiles happily.
"This is amazing, Lee. I look forward to it!" Kara smiles.
"Good. Now, open your other one." Lena says, as she hands her second present to Kara.
The second and final present Lena is giving Kara, is in a medium size rectangle box, which isn't that deep. Kara unwraps the present, and then opens the box, revealing a very expensive, and fancy looking, blue dress.
"Ohhh.... this is lovely Lena." Kara says, as she lifts the dress out of the box to have a look at it.
"I thought it could be something you might wear for our meal in London." Lena smirks, happily.
"Of course I will." Kara smiles back, and then moves over to Lena to take her in for a deep kiss.
"Hmmmhmmm." Lena hums happily.
"Thank you, both of you, for all these presents. They are amazing, and I love them all." Kara says, after ending the kiss with Lena, looking at both her girlfriend and daughter.
"You're welcome mommy." Alura says, with a big smile on her face.

It is now about 45 minutes later, and Lena, Kara and Alura are currently on their hike, up some relatively small mountains to the north of National City, just as Lena suggested. Kara doesn't know this, but Lena has done a bit of scouting, with some drones, to look for the perfect spot, with the perfect view, to hike to and propose to Kara at. That spot is only a few more minutes hike away now.
"I have to admit, Lee." Kara says, as she holds Alura's hand, "I didn't think hiking was your thing?"
"No. It's not really." Lena replies, "But I thought it would be a nice thing we could do today, just the three of us, and get some fresh air in the process."
"Yeah." Kara nods, with a happy smile.
"Are we there yet, momma?" Alura asks Lena.
Kara looks at Lena, very confused as to why Alura is asking Lena that.
"Uhhhh.... almost." Lena stammers, now kind of worried Alura might give the proposal away.
"Where?" Kara asks, confused.
"I told Alura that there's a spot, with a nice view, I want us to stop at." Lena lies.
"Ah, okay." Kara nods.
Lena breathes a sigh of relief after Kara buys her little lie.
The little family continue walking for the next couple of minutes, and then they eventually arrive at the spot Lena mentioned, the spot that will change her life. The place where Lena will ask Kara to marry her. The view itself looks over the entirety of National City, and the coast and some beaches can even be seen in the distance, but no noise from the city itself can be heard, no cars, nothing. The only noise the trio can hear are some birds chirping, and the wind.
"Wow, this is beautiful." Kara says, looking at the sight, "I really guess I don't appreciate sights like this enough when I'm flying over them."
"Yeah. That's why I thought we'd come up here." Lena smiles, and moves one hand into one of her pockets, fiddling with the ring in there, and then pulls out her phone from her other pocket.
Lena turns to Alura, giving her a knowing look.
"Alura, why don't you take a picture of me and mommy here? On my phone?" Lena suggests, with a smile.
Alura's eyes light up in recognition as Lena says that.
"Yes! Okay!" Alura nods, excitedly.
"But what about Alura?" Kara asks, "I want a picture with her too."
"We can take another with the two of you after. Then maybe someone else will walk by and take a picture of the three of us." Lena says, as she hands Alura her phone, setting it to record.
"Oh, okay." Kara nods.
"You ready?" Lena whispers to Alura.
"Yes." Alura nods back.
Lena places a kiss on Alura's cheek, and then moves back to Kara, standing by her side, placing one hand into her jean pocket again, where she has the ring. Of course, right now, Lena feels incredibly nervous, even though she is 99.9% certain that Kara will say yes. Lena just knows that this is honestly one of the single most important moments and events of her life. The only event that Lena thinks is more important is the day she adopted Alura.
"Momma, mommy, look into the camera, and smile." Alura says, as she holds up the phone camera.
Kara and Lena look towards the phone and smile. Then, after a few seconds, Lena slowly moves away from Kara, without the blonde noticing, who is still looking into the camera. Lena then proceeds to get down on one knee, pulling out the ring from her jeans pocket.
"Kara?" Lena says.
Kara turns and looks at Lena, confused because of where her voice was coming from. However, as soon as Kara looks at Lena, down on one knee, with a ring in her hands, her eyes go wide.
"Lena?" Kara says, tears instantly appearing in her eyes, moving her hand over her mouth in shock.
"Kara Danvers, or Kara Zor-El, I love you so much. You are my perfect partner; you are my everything. You own my heart, and it will be yours forever. Until I met you, I never thought that true love was a thing. I just thought it was something people make up to make themselves feel good, and their relationships feel better. But from the moment I met you, I knew I was wrong. You are my true love, Kara. If soulmates exist, you are that to me too. I can't imagine ever spending another day without you by my side. You make me feel like I can do anything. So, Kara, will you marry me?" Lena asks.
"YES!!! YESS!!! Of course, Yes!!" Kara says, instantly crying her eyes out.
Lena stands up from being down on one knee, and then takes Kara in for a passionate kiss, all while Alura giggles happily, as she continues to record the moment. Once the kiss ends, Lena slips the ring onto Kara's finger.
"It's beautiful Lena." Kara says, as she looks at the ring in awe. The ring itself is silver, and has some fancy engravings in it, with a decent sized diamond in the centre, although not too big.
"I'm glad. I made it myself." Lena smiles, looking down at the ring now on her fiancé's finger, with her heart beating a mile a minute.
"You made it?" Kara says, in awe, as she looks at her ring on her finger.
"Yes." Lena nods, with a happy smile.
Kara looks into Lena's eyes, and she sees so much love there, feeling truly overwhelmed. Kara is so happy right now. Kara thinks about how she's now got a fiancé, and she's going to call Lena her wife one day, and have a wedding.
"Oh Rao..... we are getting married." Kara says, in realisation.
"YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Alura says, excitedly, before Lena even has the chance to reply.
Kara and Lena both look at Alura, having completely forgotten she was there recording them for a few moments.
"Come here, Alura." Lena says, with a loving smile.
Alura quickly rushes over to her two parents, and Lena takes her phone, and then picks Alura up into her arms.
"Did you know about this, Alura?" Kara asks her daughter.
"Yes, momma told me before we made your breakfast! And I helped!" Alura says, excitedly.
"Yes, you did." Lena smiles happily, placing a kiss on one of Alura's cheeks.
Kara's heart honestly melts, even more than it already has, after hearing that Lena actually told Alura about the proposal, and even got her to be a part of it. Kara knows that she honestly couldn't ever find anyone better than Lena, she's truly perfect.
Kara looks at Lena again, feeling so overwhelmed, and takes her girlfriend in for a deep quick kiss. The kiss ends up only being a quick one, simply because Alura was pressed between them, as Lena is still carrying her.
"Oh Rao..... I've got to tell Alex!" Kara exclaims, as she looks down at her engagement ring, that sparkles in the sunlight.
Lena chuckles.
"Alex already knows." Lena says.
"What?!" Kara asks, confused.
"I have already asked for both Eliza's and Alex's blessing to propose to you. They've known that I was going to do this for almost 2 months now." Lena explains, "That one day business trip I took to Metropolis a few weeks ago, was actually a secret trip I took to Midvale to see Eliza, and ask for her blessing."
"Oh Lena." Kara says, feeling so touched that her fiancé felt the need to ask for Eliza and Alex's blessing, "I..... I don't know what to say..... You..... you are incredible...... and..... you are going to be the best wife ever...... I can't wait to marry you."
Lena's eyes widen at Kara referring to her as her wife in the future, it all just hitting her right now.
"Wife..." Lena says, testing the word on her tongue, "Wow..... we are actually going to be each other's wives."
"Yes, we are." Kara chuckles, with a smile.
"What about me?" Alura asks.
Kara and Lena both look at Alura and chuckle.
"You will just still be our little special daughter, who we love so so so so so much." Lena says, with a loving smile, before placing a kiss on Alura's cheek.
Alura giggles happily.
"This is the best earth birthday ever." Kara says, as she looks down at her engagement ring once more.
Lena chuckles, happily.
"I'm glad, darling. But it's not over yet. Alex, Sam, Ruby, Winn, J'onn and even Eliza are all waiting for us back at the penthouse to celebrate your earth birthday, and our engagement." Lena says.
"Eliza's in National City? And everyone else knew?!" Kara asks, surprised.
Lena chuckles again.
"Yes, Eliza has been staying at Alex's apartment." Lena explains, "I flew her in yesterday afternoon. But to answer your second question, only Eliza, Alex and Sam knew I was proposing to you. Winn and J'onn just think we are celebrating your birthday. I'm not sure if Sam has told Ruby though."
"Wow..... okay..... I guess we should get back then." Kara says, with a small smile.
"Yeah, let's go." Lena replies.
The little family then begin walking their way back down the mountain. Kara and Lena walked up the mountain as girlfriends, and down it as fiancés.

About 20 minutes later, Kara, Lena and Alura have all gotten back into the car, each of them with big smiles on their faces. Kara, meanwhile, just can't stop looking at the beautiful engagement ring on her finger. Every time Kara looks at the ring, she feels her heart race at a mile a minute.
"I'll need to give you your engagement ring soon, so we both can be wearing one." Kara says, as they start to drive away from the mountain.
"Wait...." Lena says, surprised, glancing at Kara confused as she drives the car, "You already have an engagement ring for me?"
Kara bites her lip a bit shyly.
"Yes." Kara says, as she nods her head. "I had it made a few months ago, even before we went on our holiday to Disney World. I just.... was waiting for the right time to propose to you.... or a time when I could think of something romantic....."
Lena looks at Kara, with so much love in her eyes. Lena's heart feels incredible knowing that Kara was planning on proposing to her too.
"Well, I guess I beat you too it then." Lena says, with a happy smirk.
"Yeah, you did." Kara replies, with a big smile.
"So, you had an engagement ring made too?" Lena asks.
"Uhhh..... yeah." Kara nods, "I uhmmmm...... I made the diamond myself..... and I then took it to a place to have the ring made to fit the diamond.... Although.... I didn't do it because it was cheaper or anything, even though it was..... I did it because I thought it would be more personal, with me having made the diamond, and had input into the design of the engagement ring band."
Lena smiles, once more, at Kara.
"That's exactly what I was thinking when I made your ring. I wanted it to be more personal." Lena says.
"Well, it is, and I love it. Just as I love you." Kara says, looking at the ring once more.
"I love you too." Lena replies.
"I love you both too!" Alura exclaims from the back of the car.
Kara and Lena both chuckle.
"And we both love you Alura, so much." Lena says, as she looks at her daughter by glancing in the rear-view mirror.
Alura simply smiles very happily upon hearing that, swinging her legs a little.
"When are you going to get married?" Alura asks, after a few moments silence.
"Uhhh.... that will happen later." Kara says, "Momma and I will have to plan it and everything."
"Can I help?" Alura asks.
"Of course you can, darling." Lena smirks, happily.
Lena just knows that the three of them are going to have so much fun planning the wedding over the next few weeks and months, even though Alura's input will obviously be limited. But Lena cannot wait for her wedding day to come, and for her to be Kara's forever.
