"Elijah, sweetheart, can I talk to you?" Adele asked her son as he walked by the living room. He had to be searching for his father, who was gone at the time. Luca was needed at the fashion house something about a design that the sewing department couldn't get right.
"I wasn't expecting you to be home. Where's Dad?"
"No, hey Ma, how are you doing? Or love you, Ma?" Dele glared as Eli smiled, sitting down beside her, hugging and kissing the side of her face. Adele smiled, kissing him back as he rested his head on her shoulder.
"Sorry, Ma, but how are you doing today? And love you."
"That is better. I'm doing fine... I'm glad to see my baby looking like himself again, but I need to speak to you about Brianna." She said, making Elijah sit up, looking at her hard. Dele couldn't tell was he confused or surprised.
"What about Bri?"
"I think we need to do...."
"Naw... I'm going to stop you there. I know Brianna isn't mine. I don't need a blood test to tell me so. I've known from the day she was born. Yeah, she looks a little like me, which had me wondering which one of my cousins she slept with. Then again, I didn't want to know. I don't know. Maybe I'm just tripping, thinking she looks like me to mask the fact that she isn't. I do know I don't care because she's mine either way." He says, making his mother nod rubbing his back.
"I hate she did this to you. I loved Riah... hell still do. She knew that all she had to say she wasn't happy."
"That's what I kept telling myself, Ma, but I think it was the thrill for her. Mariah liked to get a rise out of me. Doing shit that she knew would piss me off. Then she figured out that she could do something and get away with it...."
"But cheating. She could have done anything but that. Obviously, she didn't know that it kills one of the parties was going to get jealous. I can't say that's what happened, but it could have been the reason they came after us. Since he couldn't have Riah, he killed her." Adele said as Elijah nodded calmly.
"Maybe or maybe not, it could have been the fucking enemy looking for a way in. There are so many questions. Too many to ask. Really Ma, I just want to move forward with my life. Be a good father to my babies, and maybe I will find that special person one day. Right now, they are all that matter to me. So, no DNA test. She's mine at heart. That's all that matters."
"You're right, and I don't care either if you are happy with that." Adele said, watching as Emiko was about to walk past the door.
"Miko, how was school today?" She asked, causing the girl to stop dead in her tracks, turning to them with a smile. She was a good girl after they had to get it through her head that they didn't work the same way as Yamato and his mafia did. The girl's mind was set on pleasing Xerxes because he was the one that saved her, and Riley was ready to kill the poor girl.
"It was good today, Mama Adele. Oh... Oh... Oh, I made a 100 on a test! I'm proud of myself because I thought I would fail!" She said excitedly. Adele laughed so did Elijah shaking his head while his little sister tried to sneak past the three.
"ADALYNN! WHERE YOU THINK YOU ARE GOING?!"
"Shit...."
"Girl, I'm about to beat your fucking ass! Get in here NOW!" Adele yelled, making her widen her blue eyes, staring at Elijah shrugging. He wasn't about to get in the middle of it. The last time he tried to save Adalynn, he got beat too.
"Sorry, Mama. I just had homework to do, and I saw talking to Emiko. I didn't mean to curse." She pouted.
"Sure you didn't. Why did you get sent to Father Thomas's office today?" Adele asked. Adalynn stood there staring, not saying a word. Yeah, the girl looked sweet and innocent but was a demon in disguise.
"I didn't start it this time. She would leave me alone...."
"Beat her ass then...."
"Elijah!" Adele yelled as Emiko laughed, covering her mouth when Dele's eyes shot to her. "Don't listen to your brother, the last time you listen to one of your brothers. Your father and I had to pay out over 2.5 million dollars. We will be at the school in the morning. Be glad they sent you to Father Thomas and not the Dean. Now report card you to Emiko." She said as they both sighed.
"Still no baby bump," Damya said, touching Kamaria's belly. Mar smiled, shaking her head no as she looked at some reports that Takahiro had her checking. Between caring for the animals and working for her husband was taking away from her daily activities.
"No, ma'am. I'm only two and a half months. However, I feel like I've been pregnant much longer. How do you feel about Jamiyah and her baby boy?" She said—something that she hadn't asked her auntie or sister about.
"I'm mad because she didn't tell me and how she and Eamon ran off and got married. I'm happy about him. He's someone I can spoil as if he was my own grandchild if I can get rid of your big sister." She laughed. "Overall, I'm happy for the two of them. Are you and Hiro in a good place now?"
"We are. He's excited that we are having twins. I just don't know how to feel about that. You know I love to exercise and to care for my animals...."
"It can only stop you if you like it stop you." Rikona said, walking into the room with a smile. "How I let my fear of men stop me from having a happy family. Why I don't have any children of my own, keep doing what you love, sweetheart."
"See, I like this chick." Mya laughed. "By the way, is the Governor coming on our little vacation. I miss her shit-talking."
"She's an ally. So yeah, and Rikona, you did a great job raising Niko. The two of you were a happy family. Sometimes that is all you need." Kamaria said, making her Aunt Damya agree while she stared at one of their sales. Something seemed off about it, but Mar was going to let Lucas look at it before taking it to Takahiro.
"Long time no see." Shino spoke. Ella was on lunch break waiting for Ian to show as he approached. A long sigh escaped her lips as she tried to put on a fake smile.
"Hey, Shino, how are you today?"
"Good now that I have gotten to see you." He smiled, making her frown. It was like that man didn't understand when someone didn't want him. She was starting to see why it was so hard for Kamaria to shake him and wondered if she was like this. The only thing Shino saw was a sex figure and nothing more.
"You saw me now you can leave. I'm waiting for someone, and I don't want to waste time breathing the same air as your ass. So be fucking gone."
"You're waiting for that crazy man, aren't you?"
"That's none of your fucking business. Please leave. I have no time for you today." Ella said as he stepped beside her kneeling to where she could look him dead in the eyes. Something was strange about it as he took her hand.
"I think you need to understand something, Baby." He smiled wickedly. "Sweetie, you are mine. I will have you...."
"What the fuck! Did AJ or Lola put you up to this? Because it's not funny, Shino." Ella said, trying to pull away as he held onto her wrist. Maybe AJ was trying to get back at her for how she did him, but this shit wasn't funny.
"Your ex-lover boy or his wife has shit to do with this. I claimed you the moment I saw you were vulnerable, and you will be mine."
"Is there a problem here?" Ian asked. His eyes were a brighter shade of blue as he glared at Shino, which he paid no mind to as he stood.
"There's no problem...."
"I wasn't speaking to you! Ella, is everything okay?" Ian said as she slowly looked up to Shino, glaring back down at her. Then at Ian shaking her head. Everything in Ella was screaming tell him, but the way this man was looking at her said to stay quiet. So, she did.
"You sure you don't want me to help you?" Lola asked AJ standing at the stove cooking their dinner. She hated how he had her sit at that island and watched when she could help, but he always claimed that her belly was in the way.
"I'm good. Go take you a shower, and I will come for you when the food is done."
"Fine. I didn't want to help anyhow." Lola pouted and sticking out her tongue as she left. She could hear AJ laughing on her way up the stairs. Lo loved the way he cared for her but also wished he wouldn't be so overprotected. Especially with things like that and Ella. She truly believed the girl was trying to do right.
The shit had her shaking her head, but she guessed that's what came with AJ. Lola shouldn't have except any different when Luca was his father. Then it was his overprotected brothers as well. They all acted like none of the females could do anything without them. It made her feel loved but somewhat aggravated.
"Ouch!" Lola semi-yelled, feeling a pain hit her in the lower part of her belly. It was the same pain, just a little stronger that X, Leon, and Adele told her was Braxton Hicks contractions earlier. She knew this because not only did she get a pain, but her water broke with it.
"Baby girl, you cannot come right now! Not while I'm in the fucking shower!" She said, feeling another pain. She told Xerxes that the pains were different this morning than the others. He wanted to be a jackass and tell her she was over exaggerating. Plus, they were too far apart to be contractions.
Lola tried to move but was brought to a squat from the pain as she noticed that the baby's head was halfway out. She knew she had to continue pushing, so she did, screaming for AJ the entire time until she was holding a crying baby in her arms.
"Lola!" AJ yelled, running into the bathroom.
"You're late!" She said, sitting against the shower wall while AJ looked between her and their daughter. Quickly he pulled out his phone calling his mother. "
"Why you didn't tell me you were hurting, Baby?"
"I wasn't, well, not that bad. I did tell your brother about the pains I told you bout yesterday and this morning, but he, Leon, and Ma Dele said they were fucking Braxton Hicks Contractions. Although I tried to tell them differently. You know them, they were all like "WhOsE ThE DoCtOr!" She said, making him laugh, as he turned off the water taking his daughter and wrapping her in a towel. He did the same with Lola as he led them to the bedroom.
"Ma and Xerxes are on the way. Damn, you're a G. You just delivered our baby girl on your own. Look at her. She's beautiful, just like her mother." AJ smiled, kissing her little forehand before kissing Lola on the lips.
"I don't want to hear from you, X. You either, Leon, both of you told me I wasn't in labor. What's this, huh? What is this? Because what I'm seeing is your niece that I had to deliver by my-sucking-self. And that shit fucking hurt!" Lola semi-yelled as Adele and Luca walked in. Both push the men out of their way, going straight for Lola and AJ. Adele, who did give a fuck took the baby right from AJ's arms.
"Oh, my goodness, Luca... look at our grandbaby. Leon, get your ass over here and check out mama so we can get them to the clinic." She said, looking over her granddaughter. "Name?"
"Layla Adore Köhler...."
"Well, damn, you may as well named her Layla Adele." Dele smirked, rocking the baby to calm her. "But I love it, and little Layla is okay. How about Mama Leon?" She said as he nodded.
