It was the very next day as Luz and Venom had decided to visit Camila in the human realm, having called her friends and asking them if they could and/or would like to come with her.
Luz was glad to hear that Willow, Gus & Amity had all agreed to meet with her at the owl house.
Our protagonists were currently watching YouTube videos when they got a knock on the door.
Hooty: Luz, you have guests.
He says before opening the door to see Willow, Gus and Amity in casual clothing.
Luz: Hey guys. How are you?
Willow: We're doing fine.
Gus: So are we really going to the human realm?
Luz: Yep. I'm glad you guys agreed to come with us. So how are you doing, Amity?
Amity: I'm doing great, Luz.
Luz: That's good to hear. So, are you guys ready to go?
Everyone: Yes!
Luz: All righty then. Eda?
Eda: Mhm.
She says, taking out the key and opening the portal.
Luz: We'll be back later.
Venom: Try not to miss us while we're gone.
They said before entering the portal with the others following in after her, appearing in the forest outside the old abandoned house.
Willow: Wow, so green.
Gus: I can't believe I'm actually in the human realm!
Amity: It's not what I imagined it to be.
Luz: You haven't seen anything yet. Wait until you see my hometown and my house. Come on.
She says before leading her friends to her house. Luz then takes a deep breath before knocking on the door.
After a few seconds, she can hear footsteps and stood up straight as the door opens, revealing Camila Noceda behind it.
Luz: Mom! I'm home!
She says, giving Camila a big hug.
Camila: Luz? How did you get outside so quickly?
Luz: Huh? What do you mean?
Camila: You were just in the kitchen.
She said as the others looked confused.
Luz: Mom, what are you talking about? I just came back.
???: Mama, who is it?
Said someone who looked and sounded just like Luz. Everyone's eyes widened in shock upon this revelation.
Amity: Um, Luz, do you have a twin sister?
Luz: No! Who the heck are you?!
Camila: I don't understand, how is this even possible?!
Luz: Mom, listen to me! I don't know what's going on, but I'm the real Luz! Please believe me!
She said as Amity, Willow and Gus prepared themselves for a fight against this doppelganger.
???: S-Stop! Please! I don't want a fight! I . . . I'll reveal myself.
She says before shapeshifting into her true form, that being a teenage basilisk.
Luz: Who are you?
???: I . . . don't really have a name. But I'm one of many Basilisks that were brought back from extinction by Emperor Belos. They called me Subject Number 5. The emperor's coven put us through a bunch of experiments to see how we are able to take magic from others, even to the point that we are completely drained. Eventually, me and a few others managed to escape. I saw you out in the market one day and snuck my way into the human realm. I heard your mom coming and I shapeshifted myself to look like you. After that I just pretended to be you and went to summer camp afterwards. I only got back from camp a couple days ago. In hindsight, I probably should've expected you to come back, even if you were a little late.
Camila: Wait a minute! You're from another world? Magic? This can't be true!
Luz: Mom, it's true. Magic and demons are real. Just look at my friends, Willow, Gus and Amity, they're witches.
Venom: Yeah, how else can you explain their pointy ears?
The symbiote says after forming a head, to which Camila started screaming.
Luz: Mom, calm down!
Camila: Mija, what is that thing?!
Luz: Dang it, Venom! Are you trying to give my mom a heart attack?!
Venom: I'm sorry! Don't yell at me!
Luz lets out a sigh.
Luz: Mom, this is Venom. She's an alien that's bonded with me, she already knows you, we just decided to keep Venom a secret from you.
Camila: You mean aliens are real too?
Luz: Yeah.
Camila: . . . But if this girl was pretending to be you, then . . . where have you been, Mija?
Luz just lets out another sigh.
Luz: Let's just sit down first, mom. It's a long story.
She says before explaining everything to Camila about Venom, the Boiling Isles, Eda, magic, the emperor, etc.
Camila looked stunned as her daughter had finished her explanation.
Luz: I'm sorry for leaving like that, mom. I hope you're not mad.
Camila: I . . . this is a lot to take in, mija. So . . . Venom has made you her host and you are learning magic in another world, the . . . Boiling Isles, was it?
Luz: Yeah.
Camila: And Venom has also produced two children named Carnage and Riot?
Luz: Pretty much.
Camila: I . . . I honestly don't know what to say.
She said as the basilisk approached her.
???: I'm sorry for tricking you, Ms. Noceda. I just . . . I didn't want to freak you out. I just wanted to have a nice, normal life for once. I'm really sorry for trying to take your place, Luz.
Luz: Don't worry about it. It's cool.
???: Really? I thought you'd be mad.
Venom: Why aren't you mad? We can easily get rid of her. And by get rid of her, I mean eat her.
Luz: Ugh! You always want to eat somebody! Anyway, you were just trying to look out for yourself. And after everything you've been through? I know you did it out of the best intentions. By the way, you gotta have a name better than Subject Number 5. How about . . . Vee?
???: Vee?
Luz: Yeah, how does that sound?
???: Vee . . . I like it.
Luz: Mom, I know today didn't go at all what I planned, but I'd appreciate it if you kept Vee around and take care of her. I'm glad to be home and all, but for now, I'd like to stay in the Boiling Isles for my classes at Hexside.
Camila: Mija . . .
Luz: Don't worry, we'll come by and visit once a day.
Camila: . . . I . . . I'm not sure, mija.
Luz: Yeah, I figured you'd need time. Come on guys, let me show you around town.
She said as everyone got up from the sofa.
Luz: We'll be back soon, mom. You wanna come, Vee?
Vee: Are you sure? I'd rather not get eaten.
Luz: Venom's not gonna eat you. Right?
She says as Venom lets out a growl.
Venom: Yeah, yeah, I won't eat basilisk!
Luz: See? It's fine.
Vee: Okay then.
The young basilisk says with a smile before shapeshifting herself to look like Amity.
Vee then puts on a hat so that they'd tell the difference before exiting the house.
Luz then lets out a sigh.
Luz: I'm sorry, guys. Didn't mean for your first visit to the human realm to be so awkward.
Willow: It's okay, Luz.
Amity: Yeah, you couldn't have known.
Gus: Honestly, I'm just super curious about Basilisks now. Anything you'd be willing to share, Vee?
Vee: Oh, um . . .
She said as Luz & Venom hanged out with them for a few hours before heading back home.
Camila has had enough time to process everything, accepting Luz's proposal of taking care of Vee and letting Luz stay in the isles so long as she keeps her promise to visit everyday.
Willow, Gus and Amity had said their goodbyes before entering the portal back to the Boiling Isles.
Venom then forms a head to talk to Camila.
Venom: Ms. Noceda?
Camila: Um, yes?
Venom: Remember the talk with Luz at the bus stop before you left for work?
Camila: Yes. Why?
Venom: I might've told Luz that we should get rid of you. She got mad at me for it and I figured I owed you an apology.
Camila: Oh. Well . . . it's not like I knew about this, or that you even existed. But I accept your apology, Venom.
Venom: Glad to hear it. Oh, and I'm hoping we could maybe talk about parenting stuff for our next visit?
Camila: Oh. Yes, of course. Whatever you like.
Venom: Thanks, Ms. Noceda. I seriously need help with this stuff.
Luz: Bye, mom. I'll see you tomorrow.
Camila: Bye, mija.
Vee: Bye, Luz, bye Venom. Thanks for the name and for not eating me.
Luz: See ya, Vee.
Venom: Doesn't mean I trust you.
They say before entering the portal.
A few days later, Luz had made her way to the library, using her library card to enter as she uses a crystal ball to search things regarding humans.
She would eventually find something that talks about a human resident donating his personal diary to the library.
Luz: Yes, this must be it.
She says, writing it down in a notebook before heading towards the Kid's corner to see Amity, with her hair down, accompanied by small children.
Amity: Come on, give it back.
Little Witch Girl: No!
Amity: If you give me back my hairband, I'll read whatever book you want tomorrow.
She said, the little girl gasping in response.
Little Witch Girl: Finally! I can learn how to summon the dark lord!
She said, giving Amity her hairband as she ties her hair back to her usual style.
Luz couldn't help but blush, Venom grinning at her host as neither had noticed someone behind them.
Emira & Edric: Hey, Luz. Hey, Venom.
Luz: Huh? Oh, Em, Ed, hey. Picking up Amity?
Emira: Nah, looks like you got that covered.
She said, making Luz blush.
Edric: I'm looking for skincare tips, I have a date tonight.
Emira: Yeah, he needs all the help he can get after he accidentally texted a poem to their mom.
Edric: Hey! Don't just tell people that!
Amity: Are they bothering you again?
Luz: Oh! Amity, hey! Um, no, I just came here to see you and, uh, here you are.
She said, the two blushing as Venom, Edric and Emira looked at them with smirks on their faces.
Understanding exactly what's going on, the twins came up with an excuse to leave the two alone as they left the library.
Luz: So, Amity, I was wondering if you could help us find this book? Hundreds of years ago, there was a human named Philip Wittebane living in Bonesborough. And he apparently donated his diary to this library.
She says while showing Amity her notebook on what she wrote down.
Amity: I see. And you wish to learn more about this human?
Luz: Pretty much. I mean, I know I have the portal to get back home, so I don't really need to know how Philip got here. But I just can't help but be curious about this. You know?
Amity: Well, something this old would be kept in the Forbidden Stacks.
She says, showing Luz a large door that reads just that.
Amity: Only Malphas, the master librarian, is allowed in here.
Luz: Oh. That's okay, Amity. I'm sure we can find another way in.
She says before Amity let out a chuckle.
Amity: Hey, wait. I never said I wasn't gonna help. My staff card should be able to open those doors. But once we're inside, you two have to listen to everything I say. If we're caught, I could lose my job.
Luz: You won't lose your job, I promise.
She said, taking Amity's hands into hers. A few couple of seconds, the human realized what she's doing as they both blushed.
Amity: Well, let's not waste any time.
She says, using her library staff card to open the door. The two then entered with the doors automatically closing behind them.
They then made their way through the forbidden stacks, having dozens of tall book shelves.
Luz: How much further do we have to go?
Amity: Actually, we're here.
She said as they stopped at an edge to see a bunch of books flying about down below.
Luz: Nice. Let's go.
Amity: Wait.
She says, pulling Luz low to the floor as a hooded figure appeared.
The figure looked up in the teens' direction only to see nothing as Luz and Amity hid.
And once the figure had left, the two backed away from each other as their faces were so close to one another, blushing.
Luz: So, we'll be super sneaky and quiet. Got it.
Amity: Malphas is actually the one who gave me my job and my own study room. He's usually nice, but if we're caught, he'd feed us to the book worms.
Luz: In the human realm, we call those nerds.
Amity chuckled.
Amity: Right, you did mention that a few days ago.
Luz: You know, if you want, we can just call it off and leave. I don't wanna risk getting you into trouble.
Amity: Forget it, Luz. We came this far, might as well see it through. Come on.
She said, grabbing Luz's wrist and pulling her to which the teen blushed.
After a little while, they made it to the donations section for the Deadwardian Era, AKA the Isles' equivalent to the 1600's.
They looked around, Luz coming face to face with a hand made of magic and Amity touching a book that immediately crumbled to dust.
Luz then takes out a book and blows the dust off it only to realize it's the diary she's been looking for.
Luz: Amity, I found it.
She whispered, opening the book to see a skull raced rat eating the pages.
Luz: No! Get out of there!
She whispered, trying to get the rat off the diary.
Once successful, Luz and Amity then managed to sneak their way out the forbidden stacks and exiting the library without incident.
Luz: Yes! We did it! Thanks, Amity!
She says, giving the witch a hug. Amity blushed like a tomato and soon enough, Luz backed away with a blush too.
Luz: So, um . . . want me to bring you home?
Amity: S-Sure.
Luz: Cool. Venom?
Venom: I got you, fam.
She said, the symbiote enveloping Luz as they go into their monster form.
She then scoops Amity into her arms and takes off, leaping building to building and swinging around with black tendrils.
They eventually land outside Blight Manor after about 20 minutes.
Amity: Do you want to come inside, Luz?
Luz: Are you sure? I mean, I don't think your mom would be happy to see us.
Amity: I don't care.
Luz: All right then.
She says before entering the manor with Amity.
Luz: Wow, fancy.
She said, admiring Amity's home.
Odalia: Amity? Is that you?
Odalia said as she enters the room, narrowing her eyes upon seeing Luz & Venom.
Odalia: Oh, it's you. The human and her parasite.
Venom: I'LL EAT YOU ALIVE!!!
Luz: Venom, no!!
She yelled as the twins and Alador entered the room to see Luz and Amity trying to keep Venom from eating Odalia.
Edric & Emira: Hey, you two.
Luz: Hey guys! A little help, please?
Venom: I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE HAPPY TO THIS WOMAN!!!
Luz: Venom, please!!
After several minutes of the living room becoming a war zone, Venom had eventually calmed down.
She and Luz then went upstairs to hang out with Amity and the twins.
Amity showed Luz that the rat that ate the diary's pages can actually display the diary's contents like a movie projector.
Amity: Emira, I think I'd like to change my hair.
Emira: Like, a different style?
Amity: Yeah.
Emira: Want me too dye it too?
She asks, holding the vial of green hair dye.
Amity: Actually, I think I'd like to try another color.
Emira: Oh yeah? Luz, Venom. wait outside!
Luz: Uh, okay?
She says before exiting the room.
After a half hour of waiting, the door opened as Emira and Edric came out.
Edric: Thanks for waiting!
Emira: Introducing . . . Mittens 2.0!
Amity: Ugh, stop!
She said annoyed as she exited the room. Luz couldn't help but blush upon seeing Amity's new hairstyle as well as the lavender hair dye.
Amity: So . . . what do you think, Luz?
Luz: You . . . you look great.
She says with a smile, scratching the back of her head as Venom, Emira and Edric watched the two with a smirk on their faces.
Luz then noticed how dark it was getting outside.
Luz: Oh geez. I should go now. Eda, Carnage and King are probably wondering where we are by now.
She said as they all headed downstairs for the door.
Odalia was sipping some tea, covered in bandages from Venom's assault earlier.
Venom then forms and hand and drags a finger across her throat, threatening Odalia as they reached the door.
Luz then faces Amity, still unable to keep herself from blushing at her new look.
Venom: Hey, Amity, can we talk in private before we go?
Luz: Huh?
Amity: Oh, sure thing.
She says before they stepped outside the manor.
Luz: What's this about, Venom?
Venom: Oh, I think we both know what this is about.
She says with a smirk, Luz blushing as she knew what the symbiote was referring to.
Luz: Uhhh . . . I, um . . .
Venom: Come on, kid. Either you spill the beans or I do it for you.
Luz: . . . Okay. So, Amity . . . lately, I've been feeling . . . different when I'm around you.
She said, making Amity blush.
Amity: D-Different how?
Luz: Well . . . for starters, my heart starts pounding just by looking at you and . . . well, you're pretty.
Amity: I . . . see.
Luz: Amity, this might sound crazy, but . . . do you wanna go out with me?!
Amity: . . . You . . . you mean it?
Luz: Y-Yes . . . I like you as . . . more than just a friend, Amity. So what do you say?
She asks as Amity looks at her in shock, her entire face turning red.
Amity: . . . Y-Yes! I-I-I'd love to go out with you!
Luz: Really?!
Amity: Yes! A thousand times, yes!
Luz: That . . . that's great! So, um . . . are you free tomorrow?
Amity: No. But I'm free the day after if that works?
Luz: Yeah, totally!
Amity: Great, I'll see you then.
She says before giving the human a kiss on the cheek, making Luz blush like mad as did Amity.
Amity: Uh, okay! I'll see you in a couple days!
She panicked, walking towards the house only for Venom to wrap a black tendril around her waist.
Venom: And just where do you think you're going?
Luz: Venom, what're you-
She was cut off by Venom pulling Amity into Luz's arms, the two unintentionally locking lips as their eyes widened.
Despite the shock of this, Luz and Amity couldn't help but give in as they wrapped their arms around each other.
Venom couldn't help but grin, nodding her head in satisfaction.
