YOUR POV
I walk over to where all the other girls are sleeping. It's late and I better get to bed. I sit down on my hammock and take my shoes off.
"Y/n?" Harriet says. "What are you doing still up?"
"Sorry. I just couldn't fall asleep." I reply.
"Oh, okay." She says. "Well, go to bed now." I lay my head down and close my eyes. I can feel my dreams slowly coming to me just as I hear a voice in my head. It doesn't sound anything like my voice and it definitely doesn't sound like anyone who lives in the maze. Aris is the only boy. My eyes jerk open. I look around to see who said it but no one is here. I close my eyes again. After only a few seconds I hear the voice again.
The voice says, "Why am I here? Why couldn't I have died when I jumped off those bloody walls?" With a british accent. Is this person here in the maze with us? How can I here them? I try to whisper to them but they don't say anything back. What if they are talking in my mind? I try to talk to them in my mind.
"Hello." I say in my mind.
"Who's there!" The voice says back in a scared tone.
"It's okay." I say. "I think we can communicate in our minds."
"Who are you?" He asks.
"Y/n is the name." I say. "I live in a little area surrounded by a huge maze."
"What?" He says, clearly confused.
"What do you mean?" I say.
"I live in the middle of a maze too. But there is no y/n's in the glade. In fact, Teresa is the only girl."
"Are you saying there is another maze?" I ask.
"I guess."
"Why do you want to die?" I ask. "W...What?" He says a little startled.
"I heard you before."
"Oh... Well, I really hate living in the maze."
"You shouldn't try to kill yourself though. I can help you."
"Okay." He says softly.
"By the way, what's your name?" I ask.
"Newt." He replies.
