Osbourne and I follow Peter back into the kitchen, where everyone is.
"I got it. I did it. I did it. Will you send him up?"
May moves from the sink to the counter , where the device used to control Octavius's tentacles is.
"Yup. Here we go"
She presses a button as the tentacles begin to move.
Peter takes off to run up the stairs.
I halt on my spot as I almost get hit by Peter's goggles he was wearing as he throws them at May.
May catches them with ease as I glare at Peter.
"Sorry"
I glare at Peter.
Peter then starts running up the stairs.
Octavius's tentacles are moving him up to the landing at the top of the stairs, where Peter is running to.
The other two villains by the large window by the kitchen.
Happy sure loves his open plan apartment.
I move so I am standing next to May who smiles warmly at me.
"Hold on, Doc"
"All of these humiliations never cease."
The tentacles stop as they hold onto the railing in front of where Peter stands.
"You! Keep your science fair project away from me!"
We all watching from below.
"Hey, it will work. Have faith"
It best work.
We're screwed if it doesn't.
"Says the reckless fool who turned himself into a monster."
Osbourne's face falls slightly at Octavius's words.
"Please stop. Hold still"
Peter starts to move Octavius's head around, trying to get a better angle, so that he can place the chip in place of the fried one.
"Don't you dare"
Octavius's struggles fill the room as he tries to stop Peter from fixing him.
Everyone just watching in anticipation.
Hoping it will work.
"I swear.... When I get out of this we're gonna rip you ...."
Octavius's head falls down as silence fills the room.
Right, okay?
Totally normal.
"Doc?"
Silence fills the room as we all look at Doc in anticipation.
"Doc? Doc? Doc? Doctor Octavius"
Octavius gasps as his head rises again.
"It's so quiet. Those voices inside my head.....I'd almost forgotten"
It worked.
I can't believe it worked.
Well I did believe, but still!
We did it.
We can save them all.
No one has to die.
"Otto"
"Yes. Norman"
Octavius's tentacles start to bring him down as a smile merges on his face.
May and I share a look as Octavius reached the Floor in front of us.
"It's me"
Octavius smiles more at Osbourne.
Peter jumps down as he lands in front of Octavius.
Back to Norman, May and me as he is facing Octavius.
"Would you look at that"
I turn to sandman who is by the open plan part leading to another room.
Peter starts to press buttons from the device that controls the tentacles.
Probably releasing him from our control.
Very good move.
He better not come at me with one of those tentacles.
One of the tentacles move towards Peter, opening up like a claw machine as he clasps around Peter's chest.
The nano technology that had got on the tentacles moved to Peter suit, bringing back the golden and black metal surface that embodied the suit.
We all stand amazed at this.
"I'm grateful, dear boy. Girl"
Octavius looks over at me nodding as he smiles.
"Truly"
"Yeah.—"
"You're welcome"
I stand forward so I am next to peter as Octavius nods at us, shaking both our hands.
"How can I help?"
Peter and I share a look as we smile at one another.
I sit in front of Max as I synced up the device.
Peter is down with Norman and Otto.
They are working on the other antidotes I guess you should call them.
"Okay. You should be good"
I start to place the device in his chest as Max just looks at me curiously.
The device beeps as it flashes green.
"That should be drawing power now. But keep an eye on the lights. When they're a green, it means that all the electricity in your body's dissipated. Well not all the electricity. I mean, obviously you need electricity for your brain to function."
Max gives me an unamused look.
"Your nervous system is... I'm sorry I don't know why I am explaining electrify to you."
"Yeah"
Max shakes his head at me as I go back to the computer as I am checking that the device is working correctly.
The computer would be able to pick up if something is wrong with it.
"Can I ask you a question?"
"Sure.
"Are these your legos?"
"God no. They're actually Peter's. Well his and Ned's. They're building a Lego Death Star. You know from Star Wars..."
Max looks at me unimpressed.
"Okay..."
I go back to the laptop.
"So you're really not the Gwen from my universe "
"No I am not her."
The air goes silent for a couple seconds as the only sound is the keys to my laptop.
"You look just like her you know"
"That's sorta how the multiverse works."
"Peter looks different though."
"That is true. But unfortunately I don't know how exactly the multiverse works. Clearly so many questions need answered."
"On my world you guys were together but I guess because he looks different you're not interested"
"Well that is just rude, but you are not wrong. My Peter has always been seen to me as an annoying brother who I sometimes just want to punch. Plus him and MJ are good together. They make each other happy. I am not coming between that"
Max nods.
"What about you?"
"What about me?"
"Do you not want to be happy?"
"I am happy"
"Are you?"
"What about you? Were you ever happy? Before you turned all..."Evil" like"
"When I thought Spider-Man knew me. But he lied, he never knew me"
"He probably just forgot you for a second. I know my Peter sometimes forgets things. Actually he always forgets things"
Max slams his hands in the table by my laptop as he leans towards me.
"HE FORGOT MY NAME!?!"
I raise my hands in surrender I move my body back.
"Well you need to learn that sometimes you just need to let things go. Grow up. Like how old are you? You look like you are 60, 50 at least."
Max gives me a look, as if offended.
"I am 42"
"Sorry."
"Maybe you're not exactly the same, at least my Gwen was kind to me. Even when I was a nobody"
"I doubt you were a nobody. Everybody is somebody, to someone"
"Not me"
I can see the sadness in Max's eyes as he looks down.
This must be a touchy subject.
"I'm sorry you felt that way. No one deserves to feel that way. Good or bad"
I give Max a small smile before my mind drifts to Peter.
Other Peter.
I am a bit upset things left on bad terms.
It's just he had to understand that I will be okay.
I'm Happy he was so concerned.
But the way he was getting so annoyed over me helping shows that there is more to it.
The question is what?
My hand then traces my lips as I think back to him kissing me.
"You okay? Something wrong?"
I look up at Max as I rise to my feet.
"I'll be right back. Don't take that off"
I point at the device on his chest, before I walk off to find May.
I need some advice.
Well more like need to to tell someone.
And May is the best I got at the moment.
She has helped with a lot of things in my life.
Maybe she can help me with this.
An outside perspective might be beneficial.
I go upstairs as I search for May.
"May?"
I approach her as she stands in one of the rooms, using sage, as she cleanses it.
Okay?
She must be trying to calm her nerves.
The fact there is villains downstairs that could take over the world at any moment is concerning.
She turns to me with a smile on her face which soon drops.
May approaches me, setting the sage onto the dresser.
"You seem upset"
"I need to tell you something. It involves a- a boy"
" A Boy? Oh come, come, sit. Tell auntie May"
May takes my hands in hers as she pulls me further into the room, sitting me down in the edge of the bed next to her.
I laugh at her actions.
"Yes. It's about.... uh, Peter"
"Peter?"
May looks at me completely confused.
