20. 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘺 𝘣𝘺 𝘮𝘦
i woke up to the sound of my alarm. i groaned as I sat up on my bed.
i reached over to grab my phone off my nightstand and turned off the alarm.
i blinked as I stared at the wall for a couple seconds trying to fully process everything.
I'm awake.
and I have to go to school...
i yawned as I got off my bed walking over to my bathroom to freshen up.
i brushed my teeth, did my hair and makeup (or no makeup if you prefer that)
i walked back into my bedroom and got changed into my uniform
i then heard my phone vibrate on my bed and reached to see what it was
i saw that it was a notification letting me know that I got a message from tsukishima
i quickly opened it up to see what he said
Tsukishima
we're walking to school together
and no you don't have a choice
so I don't have a say in this?
nope, I'll be there in 15
hmm okay see you soon

i smiled at my phone for a bit then head downstairs to prepare my lunch
should I make tsukishima something?
i mean he never eats anything besides a bowl of rice for lunch at school
i decided to make us both some fried rice and onigiris then packed us some danimals. (danimals do be fire)
there was then a knock on my front door which I assumed was tsukishima
so I placed the bento in my bag then grabbed my shoes and headed out the house
"good morning" tsukishima greeted me
"morning" i said with a small smile
"why'd you want to walk to school together?" I asked as we began walking
"why do you wanna know?" he asked
i laughed "hey! you can't answer a question with a question"
he laughed as well "seriously tho" I said in hopes of actually getting a response
"I just wanted to make sure you'll be okay" he said
"awww tsukki cares for me" I teased as I pushed him lightly
"shut up" He groaned as he pushed his glasses up
"how was your sleep?" he asked
"it was nice I guess, I watched (fav anime) till like 2 in the morning"
"you're an idiot" he sighed
"it's my favorite anime, I couldn't help it!" I said defensively
"it's one of my favorites too so I can't really say anything"
i laughed "what about you? how was your sleep?"
"it was good for once, I didn't need to use music to help me sleep" he let out
i nodded my head
"so how are you gonna get through today? you know with everyone's nosy asses?" he asked
"I think ill just ignore them, I don't want to draw more attention to myself"
"I don't think they'll try anything if you're by me though" I said
"how come?"
"I'm pretty some of them have a crush on you and don't want to be seen as mean in front of you" I said with a laugh
he smirked "well then I guess you should just stay by me"
"yeah maybe I should" I smiled at him
we were now in front of the school. i know I usually pretend like I'm strong and I'm not scared of anything but truth is that it kinda hurts when people say mean things or whisper behind my back.
yes its always happened over the past years but that doesn't mean it gets any easier to deal with it.
but I'll put on a front so nobody else gets hurt or has to worry about my feelings.
tsukishima brought me out my thoughts by ruffling my hair
i slap his hand "hey!" he laughs at my reaction "just checking if you were still in there, you seemed a little lost for a second"
i gave him a small but sincere smile "let's go before we're late to first period" i said
he just hummed and we head inside the school building
and as expected all eyes were on me, whispered were heard from every side of the hallways.
i calmed myself down and tugged on my bag. I'm not alone. Tsukishima's here.
i look up to him and he gives me a reassuring smile.
i felt myself melt more in to the moment by the minute
i wish I could just stay here and watch his smile the whole day
"isn't that psycho girl?" I heard someone whisper shout
i tensed up at the sound.
my left hand formed a fist, it's a way I physically cope.
I felt a warm single hand brush upon my fist and held it.
i relaxed and let myself go, holding his hand in mine.
"good morning l/n!" I heard a bright voice say
it's like my whole world lit up when I saw her. yachi, she looked beautiful as always.
she really is like a bright light shining in a dark room.
she smiled at me then glanced at tsukishima and I's interlocked hands
"Morning yachi" I said with a bright smile
"goodmorning tsukishima" she said as she winked at him almost like she was congratulating him for holding my hand
"uh morning" he muttered out trying to cover the blush on his face with his open hand
"what did we miss yesterday?" I asked
"not much, we had a substitute for English and she just played a movie and for the rest of our classes it was all extra credit work or make up" yachi explained
i hummed as I nodded my head "is [teacher name] here today?" I asked
"nope I think she took the week off"
i let go off Tsukishima's hand and jumped up in excitement "fuck yeah!"
they both laugh at me and I spot yamaguchi walking towards us
"morning guys" he greeted us and we greeted him back
it's like the drama from yesterday never even happened except it did but I was successful in ignoring it thanks to the help from my friends.
the warning bell rang and we all started walking to our English class
yachi and i found our seats by the window while tsukishima and yamaguchi found their seats by the back wall.
I saw an unfamiliar woman come in, she looked tired with her hair in low ponytail.
"morning class, I'd you don't remember me from yesterday I'm [substitute name] it's a pleasure to be teaching you"
she sat down at the desk "we'll be watching a movie today"
she said as she projected her screen onto to the projector
"any suggestions?" the substitute asked us
"365 days!" a kid shouted
"now that's not appropriate" the substitute warned
the classroom erupted in laughter "alright I guess I'll just put on shrek" she said
I'm not complaining though since shrek is like one of my all time favorite movies
kids began moving to different seats and arranging them
the substitute didn't pay any mind to it though since she doesn't get paid enough for this
yachi then signaled the boys to come over and sit with us
we all arranged our desks so they can be placed together in a square shaped thing
"might as well have lunch right now" i said as I pulled out my bento
"true" yamaguchi said also pulling out his bento and a bag of chips
yachi did the same and pulled out her aestheticly pleasing bento out
tsukishima then took out a protein bar "that's all you're eating?" I asked
he simply nodded "well you're in luck" i said as I pulled out the bento I made for him.
i placed it in front of him
he gave me a confused look but opened it anyways
his eyes lit up at the sight "you made this?" he asked looking over at me
I nod my head "it doesn't look terrible" he said causing the group to laugh
"shut up" I said as I rolled my eyes
"here" he said as he placed a container in front of me
"it's my moms cheesecake" he said making my eyes light up
"you didn't forget!" I said with a smile as I opened up the container
I grabbed a fork and immediately took a bite "ughh it's so fucking good" I groaned
"here try some yachi" i said as I shoved some in her mouth
her eyes widened at the sudden action but they soon relaxed as she took in the taste
"mm it is really good!" she said with a bright smile
ahh yachi's so adorable!
"want some yamaguchi?" I asked the boy
"I mean sure" he said and I slid the container over to him
he took a bite and nodded "I will never get tired of your moms baking" he said looking pleased
tsukishima laughed at us "want some too tsukki?" I asked
his cheeks blushed at the nickname and he started choking on his food
Yamaguchi quickly handed him water to drink, tsukishima gulped it down quickly and swallowed.
once he stopped coughing we all began laughing at him
"uhm no I think I'm good" he said in a raspy voice causing me to smile
"more for me I guess" I said as I continued eating the cheesecake
"your onigiri taste really good" he stated as he took another bite
"thanks" I smiled at the compliment
we watched the shrek movie as we ate our food and shared a bunch of laughs in between
I really love these guys
