'SHIT! IF I WASN'T FAST ENOUGH TO RUN OVER TO HER SHE WOULDNT BE IN THIS SITUATION!' I scolded myself before lunging to the demon as my blade tries again to swiped through it but the demon was kept on teleporting
'I LET MY GUARD DOWN!─' I grunted at the sudden attack of the demon has given me as my side was slashed, Making a draw of blood slips down from the cut
I ignored the pain as I repeat my 1st breathing
"Flame breathing, First Form: Unknowing Fire" I Internally whispered out of breath, before slashing my sword one last time at the demon's neck as its head dropped down to the ground making a loud thud, "NO! MY HEAD!- WHAT DID YOU DO!? Y-YOU! YOUR A HASHIRA AREN-" Before he could finish his statement his head has already vanished in thin air
I sigh as I quickly run beside Y/n who looked a bit pale, I slid my hands under her knees and nape as I carried her in bridal style. Her weight isn't an issue, either way, She's very light, to be honest
I looked around to see the place was awfully quiet, The kid from before must have alerted the people around here
That's good...
I straighten up my posture as I started to walk out of the scene heading through the entrance of the village's main gates
I felt the girl in my arms snuggled to me more feeling her painful look on her face made me worry about her current condition, With that, I started to walk faster.
I looked behind my shoulders once more than look in front of me to see the villagers with fear in their eyes, But when they saw me they scram upfront as they continuously thank me, Others started to cry as they embrace one another
I then look back at Y/n who was comfortable in my arms, I saw my sides still bleeding but carelessly ignored it as I look at Y/n more observing if she has any wound
'It seems like I'm the only one who was injured..' I thought to myself trying my best not to chuckle at my idiotic manner
"Excuse me! Do you know anyone who can take us to the medics?" I asked one of the villagers who gladly lead us both to the tent, Some of the villagers are already heading back to their homes with relief
"Thank you so much for the help!" I said
"It's no problem! Thank you also for saving us from the demon you were talking about earlier..!" They then say as they waved their goodbyes living me in front of the medic's tent
I swished the curtains as I greeted the nurse who was helping the kid that I and Y/n saved, She runs towards me before hugging my left foot tightly
"Thank you so much for saving me, mister! As well with the pretty lady that also saves me!" She cried out as the nurse that was helping her panics as she held the child in her arms saying not to move too much because of the scratch she have taken
I looked around to see an unoccupied futon where I walk over to it gently putting down the h/c girl who was in a deep sleep, Her breathing is back to normal same as her skin was back to s/c which is pale much like a few minutes ago
I soon sat beside her futon gently brushing her h/c that was in the way of her face, Then waited for another nurse or doctor to check on Y/n to see if there's any particular issue that may also get damaged while taking the fight
"I'm sorry for making you wait, But is there anything that we can do for you? A check-up perhaps?" A doctor walked up to me with a few papers in his hands
"My friend here pass out just a while ago, If you'll do me a favor please take a few observations on her to see if there's any wound that she may have taken. I'm not an expert on any of these things so I'll be giving you my trust to take good care of her. For now!" I said as I stood up as I move out to make a room for him to check her already
"Will do, And please you may want to also check about your condition sir, Since your wound may take an infection if it wasn't patch up until now, So I would gladly instruct you to go call one of the nurses to help you with it.." He says before motioning me to leave
Afterward, I was quick to find one of the occupied nurses that help me patch up my wound which was also needed to be stitched as it is now feeling a lot better as the pain was washed down a bit, Right after the nurse has told me to take painkillers to lessen the pain that I was having, I have already left leaving the nurse help the other patients that also affected the attack of the demon
I walked around then stopped my tracks when I see Y/n who is now fully awake, Swiftly kneeling to the side of the futon then looking at her with full worry
I saw her look directly at me before tears started to form in her eyes, I was in complete shock at the moment since I have never seen her break down at any mission she has taken, Most likely after taking wounds after a fight she would keep her emotion stable. But the next thing I have heard from her shocked me even more
"I have underestimated you Rengoku... a-and I am deeply sorry for that! If you weren't there I could have died right there!-" She sniffles wiping the flow of tears that was dropping down on her cheeks as she turns her eyes at me again with an apologetic look
"I was really full of myself to declare I'm good enough to take the mission alone. You were amazing for taking your words truly making them happen, I have been rude to you since the beginning b-but I want it to change now on how I approach you!"
"I wanted to repay you for saving my life just then Rengoku Kyojuro! Please accept my apology!"
