We our way to the hospital for Lena's appointment. She's been extremely quiet since we left the house two hours ago, l'm holding her hand as l'm driving. According to the GPS navigation system where ten minutes away from our destination,  I know she's trying to remain strong for me
I pulled into the parking lot of the large tall building. I parked in the garage, l took the ticket from the machine. We get out the car
Taking the elevator all the way up to the seventh floor, Lena went to the counter and checked in with the front
The lady gave me a bunch of paperwork to fill out. I walked over and took my seat beside Stef who was playing free cell on her phone, my hands begin shaking. Stef takes the clipboard from me, and begins filling out the new patient registration forms

She fills in the spaces. I told her everything to write down in the boxes
There's a section where they wanna know what symptoms have l been currently experiencing, Stef checks off. Things in the different columns
Once Stef finishes up, l carried it back up front to the receptionist. I hand her my insurance card and lD

Then l went to take my seat. And I waited for them to call me back,

Over to the left, the woman jots down my weight. Stef hands me back my clogs, then we head to the examing room. The woman introduces herself as melody, Dr. Garland's nurse

She leaves the room to go Let the doctor know where here, l go into the bathroom to change out of my clothes
I say a silent prayer. Then I came out the restroom, took a seat beside Stef
She holds my hand in hers. We sit quietly, tears began to stream down my face. I cry into Stef's neck, she rubs my back. Trying to calm me down, Baby it's gonna be okay

I replied, l pulled myself together and wiped my face with some Kleenex
Stef passes me. Dr. Garland enters inside the room, and tells us a little bit about herself. She explains what she's going to do today, l hopped up on to the bed. She listens to my heart and lungs, then Dr. Garland measures the lump under my armpit, she asks me does it hurt. I tell her it's uncomfortable but not painful
She goes over the procedure with me and Stef, melody leaves the room briefly to get everything. We're going to put a rush on your blood work and biopsy, where going to numb you with a shot of Novacane. It might sting for a few minutes, once the area is fully numb. We take the larger needle and stick it directly in your hip and take a sample, we send it off to the lab
Usually the results come back in within five days, in your case it will
Probably be back on Friday. Melody's gonna take some blood, and we'll move on. I can't imagine how your feeling, but I promise you in perfect hands. Melody comes back with a tray filled with needles,
