19. 𝘴𝘩𝘦'𝘴 𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘺
"chibi-chan!" an annoying voice called over
we then see the and only oikawa toru walking towards us, or more specifically me.
"fuck my life" I muttered under my breath mentally preparing myself for what was to come next
"hey you never texted me" oikawa said with a pout
"huh?" I asked slightly confused
"I gave you my number remember?" he said with a bright cheeky smile
i saw from my peripheral view that tsukishima rolled his eyes
my face went blank for a few seconds untill I finally realized "oh shit yeah... about that so I accidentally washed the paper with ur number on it while washing my clothes"
tsukishima choked on his spit while Oikawa just gave him a deadly glare
his focus turned back to me and wore a smile "well that's okay, you busy later?"
"uhhhhh well actually I-" I was cut off by tsukishima saying "yea she's busy with me"
he suddenly pulled me into a side hug. umm what the fuck.
"I'm sure she can speak for herself" Oikawa said in an irritated tone
tsukishima looked down at me "we have plans" I said going along with the lie
"hmm fine then, continue playing hard to get chibi chan" Oikawa said before walking away
tsukishima then let go off me "I'm busy now?" I asked looking up at the blonde
"tsk yes, we're gonna go to the store since my mom wants a few things then I'll walk you home" he said
"oh we are?" I asked teasingly
"whatever you don't have to go" he said as he rolled his eyes
you giggled at the boys antics "mhm okay let's go then four eyes" i said as I pulled him in the direction of the nearest store
(at the grocery store)
"what did your mom need from the store anyway?" I asked while leaning on the shopping cart (yk what I mean?)
"well she was gonna make her homemade cheesecake, she sent me a list of what she need so let me see"
tsukishima pulled out his phone looking for the message that his mom previously sent him
"she said needs cream cheese, strawberries, powdered sugar, and butter"
i nod my head and we split off to grab the ingredients
tsukishima went to grab the cream cheese and butter while I went to grab the powdered sugar and strawberries
the first thing I eyed was the strawberries so I looked over each one of them
i wanted to get the prettiest and nicest ones. "need help?"a soft voice asked
i turn to my side and see a slightly older guy with a work uniform on
he had dark blue hair and brown eyes, he had a snake looking tattoo on his neck and he had a double helix piercing.
he looked like he would be a troublemaker but who am I to judge someone for their appearance?
"no im okay, just looking for the best strawberries" I said as I continued to scan the selection
"the best strawberries we have are at the very top, here" he said as he reached for a pack
they looked shiny, very red and plump. these were for sure the best looking strawberries.
"oh thanks" I said with a small smile
"no problem, my name's rin by the way" he said
"cool, I'm y/n but I usually go by l/n with new people" I said
he hummed "pretty name for a pretty girl" he said with a small smirk
umm what
"you done yet?" you heard tsukishima call to you
he caught up to you and was now looking at boy who was talking to you
they looked to be about the same height too
"I didn't know you had a boyfriend, sorry!" rin said apologetically
"oh it's not like-" I was cut off by tsukishima "that's alright, let's go n/n?"
my eyes lit up at the new nickname.. is tsukishima jealous?
i hummed in response. tsukishima grabbed a hold of my hand and pulled us away further from the male
i turned to look at the boy and waved "it was nice meeting you rin"
"likewise" he said with a soft smile
I saw tsukishima roll his eyes and I couldn't help but laugh
"what's so funny?" he asked a little annoyance laced in his voice
"nothing I just never knew you'd be the jealous type" i said with a huge smile on your face
"I'm not" he said turning his face away from mine
"suree keep telling yourself that" I said with a smile
he turned back to look at me and he couldn't help but smile too
"whatever let's just get the powdered sugar so we can leave" he said
i didn't notice until now but our hands were still interlocked
i didn't mind though
(skip to later)
"do you mind if we stop by my house to drop off the groceries first?" tsukishima asked
i shook my head "not at all"
"my mom wants to meet you, I told her I was with you" tsukishima said
i couldn't help but blush at the fact that his mom wants to meet me
i giggled and nodded "yeah that's okay" I pulled out my phone to text my dad

"you planning on going to school tomorrow?" tsukishima asked because of the events that happened earlier today
i sighed as I nodded my head "yeah I know people are gonna stare and call me names but I could care less as long as they don't mess with yachi"
"you really care for her, huh?"
i nod my head "I do, she's like the only girl friend I've ever had"
"why's that?" he asked looking over at you waiting for your answer
i looked up at the sky, it's gotten a bit darker. the sun's already going down.
"girls would usually only get closer to me to get with kuroo or the other boys on the nekoma volleyball team since I was pretty close with them"
"that's shitty"
I nod my head "it was either that or they would just talk shit about me and call me a whore, that's why it kinda triggered me when they said that about yachi"
"she's a sweet girl and deserves the world and so much more" I smiled
"I really admire you l/n" tsukishima said looking over at you in awe
"huh why?"
"because you're fearless, you're not afraid to speak you're mind, and you care, you truly deeply care about those you love and i think that's really cool"
i just know my face is bright red right now. ughh why does his words impact me so much.
tsukishima wore a warm smile on his face, this was like the first time I've ever seen him with a genuine smile.
my heart was pounding really fast, he's kinda adorable right now.
his eyes were like rays of amber shining through me.
i felt comfortable with him.
i let out a nervous laugh "you're pretty cool too tsukishima. you would stick up for those you care about too. you act like you don't care when you really do. i admire that about you"
his laugh sounded almost angelic like "hmm I guess were both pretty cool, huh"
I hummed in response
we soon got to Tsukishima's house and we were greeted by his mom
"it's nice to finally meet you l/n" she said bringing me into a hug
"it's nice to meet you too mrs.tsukishima" she had a nice lavender scent to her
"kei has told me a lot about you" she said with a warm smile
"mom!" tsukishima groaned
"only teasing" she said as she laughed
i smiled at the interaction, she seemed like a very nice person.
"did you want to stay over? the cheesecake will be ready in like an hour" she asked with a warm smile
"oh no that's okay, I should probably head home" I said
"oh that's a bummer, kei bring her cheesecake tomorrow so she can have some!"
"yeah okay" he agreed
"thank you so much" I said with a smile
"here I'll drive you home" she said offering
"you shouldn't trouble yourself, I only live a couple blocks down from here"
"it's already dark out though, it's dangerous to walk home alone"
"kei will you walk her home?" her mom asked
he nodded "I was already planning to
"wow I didn't know I raised such a gentleman
"mom please" tsukishima pleaded
"okay fine, have a nice night l/n. thanks for stopping by and helping kei with the groceries"
"it was no problem at all, thanks for having me over. have a nice night."
tsukishima and I waved her off and then began on our walk to my house.
"she seems really nice" I said with a smile
"she is but it's a bit much sometimes" tsukishima commented
i laughed "can't wait for that cheesecake tomorrow" I said with a playful smile
he hummed "her cheesecake is really good, much like her strawberry shortcake"
"I really liked her strawberry shortcake last time" my mouth watered just thinking about it
"what does she do for a living anyways?" I asked a bit curious
"she owns her own bakery it was actually passed down by my late grandmother"
"aw that's really cool. what's it called? maybe I'll stop by when I'm free"
"tsuki pastries"
I nodded my head "cute name"
"she named it after our family name" he said
"yeah I figured"
"do you mind if I ask something a bit personal?" I asked the blonde beside me
"shoot"
"umm.. where's your dad?"
he stayed quiet for a little then said "he's a recovering alcoholic so he's in rehab right now"
I hummed in response
i didn't know what to say and I didn't think any words I could say would be able to comfort him right now
"how're you holding up?" i asked
"I'm doing alright, I just hope he's able to change" he said looking down at the ground
I nodded my head "umm well we're here" I said
since we were now at my house
"thanks for today tsukishima, it meant a lot to know that someone was by my side and cared to know if I was okay"
he didn't say anything but he smiled and nodded his head
"goodnight l/n" he said
"goodnight tsukishima" I said with a small wave before I head inside my house
