Y/N's POV:

"My boss?"

I swallowed hard and looked to Namjoon through the glass once more.
This couldn't be happening, not now!

"He's quite busy and you'll have to just set an appo-"

"I think he can spare a few minutes."

Jungkook cut me off and walked towards his office doors.
I stood up and quickly tried to stop him, finally being able to move but more in a panic.

No, no, no, no!

Of course I wasn't fast enough and I ended up following Jungkook inside of Namjoon's office instead of stopping him from entering.

Quickly, I had to do something.

"Namj- Er, Mr. Kim, you have a guest."

I quickly called out.

Namjoon's face looked up and I swear his face instantly went into a scowl. But how could that be?

They couldn't possibly know each other...

"Mr. Kim, this is Jungk-"

"I know who he is."

I froze in place and watched in horror as Namjoon stood to meet Jungkook.
Jungkook stayed cool and collected and didn't display any emotion other than the small grin that still played on his lips.

Namjoon came around and motioned of him to take a seat, but Jungkook waved it off.

"I won't be long."

"What do I owe this pleasure?"

Namjoon asked, more harshly than anything.
There was no mistaking it.

He hated Jungkook.

I could just tell from the way he frowned to the bitterness that flashed in his eyes.
I swallowed hard.

I wanted to stay, wanted to leave, wanted to pull Jungkook out and tell him to not come back to my workplace and to just stick to the plan...

Yet a part of me wanted to hurt Namjoon just as much as he hurt me.
I fought the guilt and bitterness that festered in my soul.

He didn't know, didn't deserve to be treated harshly.
It was my own fault for thinking he felt the same way and waited on him to make the first move instead of just telling him how I truly felt.

I honestly didn't know what I wanted.

"I'll just wait outside-"

I managed to say but Jungkoom turned and looked at me with eyes that I couldn't discern.

"I'd liked you to stay, Bee."

Jungkook's deep and scruffy voice asked.

It was so much deeper than Namjoon's I realized.
Namjoon still had a soft yet confident voice.

Jungkook's voice boomed with authority and roughness.

I took in his plea, and nodded slowly in agreement.

As I looked over to Namjoon, his eyes showed confusion and... frustration?

Did I really cause that?

I stood back away from them both towards the door of the office.

Jungkook turned his attention back to Namjoon, and he cleared his throat.

"I have a question to ask you, Kim."

Namjoon seemed to be battling something inside.
He tried not to glare at Jungkook as he leaned against the front of his desk.

"Go on, Jeon."

I felt sick to my stomach.

Jungkook's voice radiated through the room without effort and even made my chest vibrate with anxiety.

"Would you like it if your fiance worked for me as my personal assistant?"

Namjoon's eyebrows rose in shock of his question.

Honestly, I was shocked too.
The way he phrased it made it sound horrible and as if Eugene had been cheating on Namjoon with Jungkook.

Where was this coming from?

"You disgusting, son of a bi-"

Jungkook instantly held his hands up in surrender.

"It was more of a hypothetical question, I should have mentioned. I'm in no way asking such a thing."

"Then what the hell are you asking?!"

Sighing, Jungkook rubbed the back of his neck.

"You heard that I just recently got married."

I froze.

Oh god.

Here it was.

"Yes, actually."

Namjoon chuckled and stood to his full height, matching with jungkook's eye level.

"I feel bad for the woman desperate enough to agree
to marry such an asshole."

"Namjoon!"

I gasped, not used to him saying such things!
What the hell was getting into him!?

Did he hate Jungkook that much that he would forget that it was totally unprofessional!?

One, I was not desperate, and second, Jungkook had shown that he might be rough around the edges and hard to understand, but he was kind and had a good heart!

How could he just stand there and call him an asshole!?

Namjoon's sharp glare came towards me and I hesitated.
I had never seen this side of him before.

"Stay out of this, Y/N."

he warned.

"You have no idea who this man is."

His body was tense and stiff.

"She is well aware, Kim."
Jungkook stated, still in a calm manner.

"I'll ask only once to not speak to Bee in that tone."

Jungkook's voice radiated once again with protectiveness.

Namjoon looked from myself to Jungkook and then back again. His eyes revealed that he was a bit hurt and angry.

"Is there something going on that I don't know about!?"

Namjoon lightened his tone and focused on me.

"Like why my biggest competitor is calling you, 'Bee' so freely as if he knows you... intimately."

My heart pounded and I swear I could hardly hear anything else as he waited for an answer.

Could I even speak? Or would my vocal cords fail me in this moment?

Suddenly it felt hard to breathe. If they started talking again, I couldn't understand what they were saying.

Seriously, the pounding of my heart was deafening.

Then as fast as all of that hit me, it left with the strong touch of man.
I darted my gaze to the tall man beside me and focused on the vibrant brown eyes that were staring down at me with confidence. How Jungkook had managed to instantly pull me from the depths of my death, I didn't know.

But I took a deep breath and looked to Namjoon.
His brown eyes, along with his lips were frowning with dread.

I knew this moment was going to come, I just didn't think it would be so soon.

"Namjoon."

I started and was surprised how well my voice came out normal.

Jungkook's hand didn't leave my elbow. He stood tall like a rock that I could lean upon.
Trust me, I needed it too. This was all so overwhelming.

"I... I'm married to Jungkook. I-I'm now Mrs. Jeon."

The words came out slow and I stuttered a bit, but they finally left my lips and came out in front of Namjoon.

I watched carefully to gage his reaction, for any signs that he was sad, disturbed or in pain like I was when he slapped me with his marriage plans.

Oh he was disturbed alright.

His body grew ridged... with anger.

His dark eyes seemed to turn even more black with rage, but his body stayed in place, his lips in a tight frown.
His eyes darted to Namjoon, then back to me with a glare.

"You're fired."

What!?

My jaw opened slightly, my insides dropped to my feet.
I felt lightheaded, yet Jungkook still held strong.

How could he just come in and not show emotion when all this was going on around him? I needed it more than anything at this very moment, but I sure as hell wasn't overly appreciative.

"W-What do you mean!? Why!?"

Namjoon looked away and refused to look in my direction.

"You actually have the audacity to ask me that!?"

he chuckled bitterly. I felt the tears sting again.

How could this man manage to rip my heart out over and over again?
With everything that was going on, he was now taking my job away from me!? My only form of income!?

"Yes I do damn it!"

I snapped and found the strength to walk away from Jungkook and stride over to Namjoon and grabbed his arm to force him to look at me.

Instantly Namjoon pulled away as if my touch had burned him.
His dark eyes narrowed at me with hate.

"You married my biggest competitor without telling me, and think you can still work here!?"

he growled.

"Like hell I'll keep you on as my assistant. You even had the nerve to get upset at me and make me feel like shit about Eugene, when all along you were hiding this-"

he pointed to Jungkook with disgust.

"from me as well!"

"Namjoon-"

"Get out!"

he demanded.
This wasn't the Namjoon that I knew. This Namjoon was heartless.

Without another word, I turned and ran out of the office to my own desk and grabbed my purse, and my pens.

Everything else I could go without.

I wanted out of here. Now.

☼︎☼︎☼︎☼︎☼︎☼︎☼︎

Jungkook's POV:

This was beyond what I was expecting. Now everything made sense to me.

Y/N was in love with Namjoon.

I felt a bit uneasy knowing this.

I really shouldn't care, but a small part of me didn't like it one bit. I didn't even waste anymore time with Namjoon and made my way out of the office as well to see that Y/N was scrambling to grab her things.

Her small frame was shaking as she moved in a rush.

He had no right to treat her such a way, considering from what I heard from her, that he was her friend.

"I'll take you home."

I told her, hoping my words came out nicer than they sounded.

She flinched, but didn't say a word and didn't look my way, then walked past me with her things and headed towards the elevator.

I noticed her long hair was falling out of her messy bun. The strands fell down over her shoulders and displayed how small she was.

I grumbled to myself, knowing that I was on her bad side again.
We had been making things work so far these past couple days.

Yet this had to happen.

My company's advancement counted on it, and that, I could not risk right now.
I took only a few strides to reach Y/N and the elevator that finally opened.
I had watched her hit the button a few times in attempt to make it reach her faster.
She quickly stepped on and I was pretty sure the way she adverted her eyes she didn't want me on the same elevator.

Too bad.

I took another few strides and got on the metal box that would take us down to the ground level.
My car was parked out front and waiting. The metal doors
closed and reached over and hit the button for her.

Y/N just stood in the right corner and hugged her purse to her chest, her face turned away from me.

I sighed.

"That's not how I wanted things to go, Bee."

"How did you expect it to go?"

her voice was soft and barely above a whisper.

"Well I wasn't expecting to see that Namjoon was the one you've been heartbroken over. I thought he was just your boss."

She went silent.

I thought she wouldn't say anymore, but I looked to her once I heard her soft voice fill the space between us.

"I thought he was my friend."

☼︎☼︎☼︎☼︎☼︎☼︎☼︎☼︎

Damn I was tired.

It had been a long ass day and I wanted nothing more than to drink a beer and climb into bed after a hot shower.

The events of the day had been disturbing and I was glad the day was finally over.
After the damage control I took care of, Y/N hadn't spoken another word to me.
I dropped her off at my house and then went back to work.

I was working hard, but Jimin's interruptions with more bad news, and Y/N clouding my thoughts, I felt as if I couldn't get anything done.
Maybe it was because it bothered me how Namjoon handled the situation. He was still pretty new to the game, and today only showed his lack of maturity.

He wasn't going to last long in this area if he kept up with that lack of control.
This field, this position, everyone was a shark. That's just the way it worked.

I walked into my house and locked the door behind me.
It was late, probably closer to eleven PM. I threw my jacket off and didn't care that I threw on the nearest chair.
My hands went up and loosened my tie that I felt was strangling me.
The relief instantly helped my breathing, or so it felt like it did.

Taking a deep breath to fill my lungs I then stopped myself and realized that all the lights were off except for the kitchen light.
Did Y/N already head to bed? It was pretty late, but I had imagined she would be awake and sitting at the table, waiting for me.

Damn, what kind of nonsense was going through my
head?

My feet dragged against the hardwood flooring as I made my way towards the kitchen.
Beside it, where my smaller dining area was, I found that
Y/N was indeed not there.
My eyes narrowed though, when I saw a plate of food with a cold beer sitting beside it.

Did she make dinner for me?

I made my way over to the plate and looked down at the chicken and rice that filled it. Steam was still rising off of it and as I reached out for the beer, I was surprised to find it still ice cold.
It must have just been put out shortly ago.

Had she actually stayed up and waited for me?
Jiyeon always did her own thing, and never, and I mean never, made me dinner and waited up for me after fight.
Actually, Jiyeon always made me suck up and treat her to even nicer things over and over again until she sees fit.

Putting the bottle to my lips, I threw back a good few gulps. The cold, numbing substance quickly gave my taste buds pleasure.
I sat down my drink and took a seat, grabbing my fork and began to eat. The food tasted amazing, which was a huge difference from the restaurant food I used to eating.

It seemed more natural, more... homey.

Was that even a thing?

Either way, I enjoyed not having to come home after a long bad day of work and get dressed up to take her out to dinner at a fancy restaurant. Coming home to a cooked meal was something that I already appreciated.

I felt as if I could relax a lot faster.

After about ten minutes, I finished up and cleaned my things, then finished off my beer.
With that said and done, I already felt a little bit better. Now for a shower and then to climb into bed.

As I made my way into my room I stopped when I saw Y/N curled up in the bed, fast asleep.
I swallowed hard, not knowing why, but I gave into the
small urge that I had. It only took a few strides once again to reach her as I came to her side of the bed that she had claimed. My eyes traveled down her face.

Her long hair was all around her as she laid on her side facing me. I could see was sleeping like she had the previous night, with one arm tucked under her pillow and the other on top right beside her lips.

I frowned seeing that her face had tears that stained it.
She had been crying for a long while and wore herself out.

I probably didn't help matters any with how things went today. I should have at least warned her.
But I had to do things immediately or things would have
been even worse.

Sighing quietly to myself, I knew that I was going to have to make it up to her. There was no way I was going to be able to have us being mad at each other for our entire marriage, however long that ended up being.

We both didn't like this predicament, so we had to do our best to make it decent.
I would do my part as best I could I guess. With that said, I went and did what I had wanted to. Took a hot shower and crawled into bed.

☼︎☼︎☼︎☼︎☼︎☼︎☼︎

Morning came too soon.

This morning, after everything yesterday, I had refused to get up and go for my morning run.
I slept in until I couldn't wait anymore, and I was already feeling the burden of today's duties.

Growling to myself I threw back the covers and threw my legs over the side of the bed. I grumbled and rested my head in my hands. A strange thought crossed my mind.

Maybe I needed a vacation.

Quickly throwing that lazy thought out of my head, I peered over my shoulder to see Y/N's figure sleeping soundly next to me.
The covers were up to her chin, the rise and fall of them displayed that she was breathing deeply in rest.
Hopefully when I got home this evening, however late that was, we would be able to talk a bit.

I used my arms to help push myself off of the bed to rise to my feet. I went into the bathroom, freshened up, walked out and went into my closet to throw on my suit for the day.

As I walked out and wrapped my watch around my wrist, I peeked a quick glance at Y/N's still sleeping form.
I grabbed my wallet and then made my way out of the room towards the kitchen to find myself once again shocked at the sight before me.

There on the table, just like last night, was a plate of food and a cup of coffee ready for me.

I quickly looked over my shoulder towards the hallway where my room was.

When did Y/N get up and make this!? I hadn't even felt the bed move!
Did she really wake up just to make sure I had something for this morning!?

This woman was way beyond me.

An omelet with green peppers and an apple, and my coffee made the way I liked it, I felt like I had a bit more energy to take on the day.

☼︎☼︎☼︎☼︎☼︎☼︎

My eyes traveled to my watch and I saw that it was already late. I had cleared things up with Mr. Seok Jin, which was a relief.
Jimin and I both had no time for anything but business the entire day. I leaned back into my chair and rubbed my eyes.

"I believe it's finished."

Jimin's voice gave off a tone of relief.

"So much damn paperwork."

"Agreed."

I sat up and shut down my computer.

"Way too much."

Jimin sat down in one of the chairs in front of my desk as if it was his own at home.

"At least you have a pretty lady to go home to tonight. I'm afraid I'll be all alone again."

I chuckled and shook my head at him.

"I'm pretty sure there won't be any enjoyment out of my night to come. At least it will be quiet at your place."

Jimin shrugged.

"I guess. So how are things going with the new Mrs. Jeon?"

I took a sip of water from the glass that I had from earlier. It was warm, but I didn't care.
Just the thought of what I needed to do with Y/N made me
uneasy.

"She's proving to be... unpredictable."

With a smirk, Jimin raised a brow with curiosity.

"Really? How so?"

"She's nothing like Jiyeon."

A loud laugh came from him. I frowned.

"I don't understand what you find so humorous."

A spark in his eyes, he smiled.

"You really are comparing her to your Ex? I could have pointed out the differences for you right off the bat."

I grumbled.

"Shut up."

Sighing I stood up.

"You know I'm not good with women."

Jimin followed suit and shook his head.

"No, my friend, that is what Jiyeon told you, and you have chosen to believe it. You are a bit..."

he stopped to ponder his next words.

"Of an asshole?" I offered.

"Rough around the edges was more of what I was thinking."

I sneered in disagreement.

"That's not what Jiyeon called it."

"I rest my case."

he pointed out.

Damn.

Was I really not that horrible, but her just an evil, lying whore?
Jimin came over and patted my back, his golden short hair showing off his nice smile and black eyes.

"I'm pretty sure Y/N will come around. Just be yourself with her. She's a different type of person, and I think being yourself is the only way to really get through to her."

"And I think you're full of shit."

"Only some of the time."

Jimin joked and walked towards the door.

"By the way, Jimin, I need you to look into something for me."

I remembered, wanting to share certain information with him. With his background, I was sure it would come in handy.

"Anything."
