Chapter one hundred thirty-four: "Full Of Energy"
The performance ended with me having a small solo before I press the last key, the audience cheered and clapped for all of us
I gave them a small wave, my group all stood up and Tiffany walked up to me so she could pull me in the middle alongside them
Simultaneously we all gave the audience a bow, a huge grin has formed on my face
This feels nice, I love this feeling
We all started going down the stage and I can see my friends waiting for me. Daisy ran first to me and gave me a tight hug "You did so well!"
Aiden puts an arm around me "Pip you stole the spotlight"
Wyett and Peter agreed with him "You're dress shimmers under the spotlight making you almost like a focal point of the performance" Wyett complimented me
They all started to bring me to a place but suddenly I asked Mira again "Is the bunny still there?"
She smiled "It's eating right now, you can go visit it" she patted my back, I was so excited to see the bunny that I did that speed walk thing until I reached the dandelion field
The place was so serene and relaxing that I feel like all my troubles will melt away in an instant, my eyes went to search for the bunny among the flowers. The sun was setting and it took me a few minutes to find the baby bunny that was munching on some grass
"Hello there little one" I greeted it with a soft voice as I patted its head, the baby bunny closed its eyes as I keep petting it
Take note that I was still wearing the dress in the field so I felt the cold wind at my open back
I heard someone stepping on the grass that made a crunch sound and felt a strong presence behind me that made the hair on my body stand up
This feeling...
Don't tell me he's here
The person behind me started playing with my hair "I finally found you, my Angel"
It's Cloud! Oh My God, He's here!
I stood up quickly
I'm not prepared for this
No, I haven't faced him yet. I ran quickly which was my first reflex reaction
This is going too fast, I don't even know if I'm prepared to meet him yet!
My heart was racing and my fight or flight response has activated, I was almost near leaving the field when suddenly I saw Mason and Oliver were holding a huge net
What the fuck!?
I avoided the twins and turned the other way to find another exit but all of them were blocked by Dustin, Liam, and Noah
WHY ARE ALL THE SIBLINGS HERE!?
Benjamin stepped out behind the tree along with Nick, Nikki walked out into the field to grab the bunny and tuck it in her arms
"W-what's going on" I asked them, I heard myself stutter and my hand shaking
Nobody is answering me and it only made my anxiety worse so I took a chance and ran past the space between Liam and Noah to get away from them
I underestimated their speed of running, it wasn't long before they caught me and threw me over their shoulder "Nice to see you are full of energy Penelope" Noah told me while Dustin had me over his shoulder
The sun has already set and the light of the stars and moon up in the sky provided a great lumination across the field, Dustin sets me down on a log before giving me a reassuring pat on the back
Don't leave me alone with him!
"You guys can go now, I'll stay here. Thanks" I heard Cloud speak to Dustin, the sound of many feet leaving the dandelion field tells me they already left us to talk privately
I started fiddling with my hands and bit my lower lip, all the running I've done made my low bun become undone so now my hair was down framing my face
When the sun was down the fireflies hidden in the plants started coming out slowly
"Angel, won't you look at me?"
I don't know what those words did but I followed his request so my eyes slowly went to meet his
Cloud's face looked tired yet handsome, he now has a stubble and the dark circles under his eyes told me he hasn't had a good sleep since I ran away. He gave out his hand for me to hold so it could help me stand up in front of him
I pulled my hand away from his and crossed my arms after standing up "What are you doing here?"
He didn't try to touch me again and kept a proper distance "I came here to explain myself"
Huh?
"I'm going to explain myself and take you back home" he said to me
"Why are you explaining yourself to me?"
"Because what you saw was not really what we're doing Angel, Abby tried to pull me into bed with her and you saw us at the wrong moment"
He sounds so determined to bring me back home
His eyes were clear and it made me believe instantly he was telling the truth, I can also feel it because you can have at least a small amount of doubt when the person started lying but I didn't feel any doubt in his words
Cloud slowly approached me and held my hand, the warmth that I missed for so long is now being given to me by the same person who has scoured the entire country just to find me
His hand gave my hand a small squeeze "I miss you"
Am I hearing this correctly?
The bright green forest eyes that were used to be filled with mischief has now started watering "I swear to fucking God that I didn't do anything with Abby please believe me" his grip was starting to tighten around my hand
I think Cloud hasn't had a clue that I already believed in him
I raised my hand and cup one side of his face as I wipe away the tears that fell on his right eye with the pad of my thumb, he was shaking and crying in front of me
He was now vulnerable and he didn't shy away from it when showing it in front of me
Cloud cared for his image when it comes to strangers and people in school, he wouldn't show this side of himself that easily
"Vancouver, Montreal, Ottowa, Quebec, Calgary, and all of the cities along with small towns you weren't there. I have to face countless disappointments when they keep saying: she's not here"
I could not contain myself from holding back that I gave him a hug
There's no denying it, he wants to see me again
"I miss you too" I whispered in his ear, his reaction was hugging me back tightly and having his face near the crook of my neck where I can feel his warm breath tickle my skin
"I'm sorry for running away, I just feel like you don't need me anymore and I'm just a disappointment to my family" When I started to remember the reason why I'm here in the first place my tears started falling down my face as it starts wetting Cloud's shoulder
"Bullshit" he mumbled and leaned back to face me "Who the hell said I don't need you anymore!?" He asked me loudly as his face was visible with confusion
I gave him a small smile "I just felt it"
He sighs and closes his eyes before opening them again to start gazing at me "I can't help that your reckless decision almost cause me to lose you, all because you just feel it?" His brows furrowed
His hand started grazing my back following my spine almost making me shiver under this touch "You don't know the faces of people who truly missed you, do you?"
I shake my head in response, once his hand finally reached my waist he encircled his arm around it pulling me closer to him. To prevent myself from falling I accidentally put my hand up to his chest in the process of maintaining my balance
My eyes landed on the deep bags under his eyes "You didn't get a good rest"
I'm sorry I made you suffer
He chuckled at me "No shit Sherlock, the bed feels so empty without you there annoying me"
I raised one brow and smiled "Am I annoying that much?"
Cloud kissed my forehead as his hand slowly crept at the nape of my neck, I closed my eyes and felt his short kiss on my forehead "You get a free pass, if other people do it I might throw them in the ocean" his small joke made me giggle
His thumb started to caress my bottom lip "You are so oblivious I swear that it's making me frustrated"
I kissed the tip of his nose "It's a defense mechanism to prevent myself from falling to a person that might not love me back"
"What kind of person am I to search for you if I didn't love you?" He told me softly
Wait what? Is my small prayer being answered!?
Did I just hear Cloud Marshall confess!?
