Flashback to 6-year-old Emilia in foster care
Emilia had been in foster care for a year after being removed from her "mothers" home. She was moved from home to home before landing at a group home for young kids. At this point she had not seen Isabella or Alexandra since they first met at her 2nd foster placement. In the group home Emilia was mistreated and was like a runt. One day while at the park her foster siblings were bullying her and pushed her off the slide where she started to bleed and cry catching the attention of a man with his kids. The man went up to Emilia dusted off her clothes "are you alright" young Emilia replied between sniffles "mmhmm" and nodding. The Man helped her up then sat her on the bench and applied a bandage to her scraped knee.
Man: Are those your brothers and sisters
Emilia shakes her head no
Man: Who are they
Emilia: foster siblings we live together
Man: are they always mean to you
Emilia: Yea but it's okay because its better then when mommy was mean
The man strokes her hair giving a pitiful look "Do you wanna live somewhere where they won't be mean to you, and you'll be like a princess"
Emilia with a lit up of face replied yes
That day Emilia was returned to her group home however the man had not forgotten his promise. That man was Klaus Wilhelm leader of the German mafia, who was temporarily in Brooklyn with his family. Despite his job he was a kind, fair, and loving man to his family. The Wilhelm family have run the German mafia since the beginning, and Klaus had now been handed the keys to the empire.
After some discussion with his wife Claudia, they would adopt Emilia. Soon they were in contact with her social worker, and she had been temporarily placed to live with them. Emilia was amazed with her new life. She had loving parents and siblings who didn't tease her but looked out for her. Emilia was still scarred by the abuse she endured so Klaus began teaching her how to fight. Soon she was able to knock down one of her brothers. When Klaus and Claudia were filing for adoption Emilia's "mom" had refused to give consent, she attended parenting classes and had done everything the court asked her too in the eyes of the judge that was enough reason for Emilia to be returned home and taken from a family who fell in love with her, and she fell in love with. Klaus to Emilia "no matter what happens if you ever need help, or anything call me" Claudia hugged her tightly then tearfully waved goodbye. Emilia was sent back to her mom and the Wilhelm's returned to Germany. However, a few months later Social Services were notified again of something happening to Emilia when she passed out in school and bruises were found. She was sent back to foster care and was reunited with Isabella and Alexandra. Emilia remembering the skills Klaus taught began teaching Bella and Lexi how to fight and they grew a tight bond.
Klaus was notified of Emilia's foster placement and returned to the states to see her. It had been a few months, so he was nervous but all of that went away when Emilia ran into his arms. He couldn't legally adopt her this time due to a change in his circumstances, but he stilled cared for her like a father and Claudia like a mother. He would always create ways for them to see each other and would often teach her fighting skills, which she would later teach to Bella and Lexi. He had met Lexi and Bella a couple times and they grew close through Emilia, though their bond was not the same.
When Emilia turned 8 years old, she returned to mother once again who took her to Europe. Lilith obviously having kidnapped Emilia wouldn't travel by plane, so they went by boat. Lexi and Bella ran away from their foster home and snuck onto the ship with Emilia.
A week later they had arrived in London and began a new life there. They lived in a small suburban town and Lexi and Bella lived at an orphanage nearby. Soon it was as if they were living normal lives, they'd go to school hang out then go home. Only for Emilia she would return home to be bombarded with harsh words and violence.
Klaus had finally located Emilia in London after she disappeared in New York and immediately went to her. It had been a while since they had last seen but their reunion was as if no time had passed.
For the next year and half in London he would care for her and help her. She also grew even more close to his other children. Unfortunately, this would come to an end when August of that year Lilith had decided it was time to run again and moved them to Russia this time by bus. Emilia was able to inform Klaus ahead of time and he helped Isabella and Alexandra go there.
Klaus had moved his family there and Emilia lived there until the age of 11. Klaus witnessing Emilia's abuse obviously considered killing her, but Emilia begged him not too. Though she was a horrible one she was still her mother after all. When they were in Russia the abuse stopped Lilith was too busy worrying about whether or not she would get caught.
While in Russia the girls learned languages such as Chechen, Armenian, Ukrainian, and Tatar, As well as new fighting styles and techniques.
10 months later Emilia is on a flight to Egypt leaving behind another home she grew to love. Her life remained like that for the next few years moving from place-to-place meeting with Klaus and him always being there for her. After nearly 2 years in Egypt, Lilith moved them to Ohio than to Virginia then to Spain then to California then to France then to Idaho where they would stay a long while. The girls were now 15 almost 16 Bella still grieving from Will's death.
Klaus eventually had to move back to Germany though they stayed in touch. Over the years their calls became less and less frequent though she knew she could always count on him when the time came.
When they were in Spain Lilith had met a charming man whom she later married. She brought him to the states supplying him with an American citizenship in return he gave her an all you can eat drug buffet. Eventually he stopped giving it to her for free and she started whoring herself out to him for the smallest high. But eventually even that price was too low. So, Lilith decided he could have a young 14-year-old Emilia and he was more than happy to oblige. Lilith and Diego would sell Emilia to other men for drugs this continued until around December that year when he overdosed with a little help from Emilia of course.
Time skips to 15-year-old Emilia in France in a secret hospital for the German mafia.
Klaus: "You can do it Emilia come on keep pushing" A few minutes later a baby's cries were heard as he was rushed to another room by doctors
Emilia: "What's going on why did they take him where's my baby"
