When the director said cut, Seri's stylist automatically went and retouched her look. It's been three days since her discharge and it's her first day back in work again. Everyone agreed to film first the easier scenes especially for her since nobody wanted to risk another rush to the hospital again.

Lightings and equipments filled the room from top to bottom, the space almost crowded with staffs and assistants. Everyone was busy following commands and reviewing tapes that it took at least ten minutes for the message to arrive to Seri that says someone wants to see her outside.

She almost tripped on an electric wire while trying to make way for herself out and her heart started beating fast, almost dangerously, at the sight of his silhouette. Perfect broad shoulders and tall height, yes, it's definitely Ri Jeong Hyeok.

She was still in her clothes on set, a designer one to be specific the moment she stood before him, all dolled up and fresh.

There was a brief, shy silence between them. He took in her look while her eyes caressed his face down to his comfy outfit, and something he was carrying on his hand.

"Hi..." she greets him, all smiles and crescent eyes, going on tiptoes and back down again that made her look adorable to him. Her habit was fresh in his mind, how she would act like this in front of someone she likes.

Just like back in highschool, when one of her crush in eighth grade gave her a rose on Valentine's day. Planted to his seat, Jeong Hyeok stared at her, standing and going on her tiptoes by the door, accepting the flowers with a huge smile. He watched her put it on her nose and held back his laugh because it took her too late to realize it was plastic.

That was embarrassing.

She was scowling all afternoon when they were walking back home together. She shoots him a look and it took all of him to keep his face frozen like a stone but Seri knew all too well that he was on the verge of laughing.

What he didn't take into account is that he would witness that again years later and this time, it was because of him and for him.

"You have so many foodtrucks outside," he comments.

"Oh. We're really busy so I haven't gotten time to check on it. It's cute, right?"

"Yes..."

"What's wrong?"

He held up the thing he's been holding which turned out to be a cake she used to buy at a favorite cafe of hers in the city. "I thought you would like this but," he looks around, "There's already so much food here for you."

To stop him from going on and on about it, Seri took it from his hold and peeks on it, giggling at the candies he included.

Cute.

"Jeong Hyeok, can you hide me? Let's stay at the van for a while."

That had him raise a brow. He cocks his head to check on the set inside and sees the busy people talking and walking here and there.

"It'll be quick." Seri insisted.

And that's how they ended up sitting together at the cramped up space, dresses and documents messily piled on one corner. She carefully eats the cake without messing up her lipstick and all Jeong Hyeok could do was look at her.

"You want some?" She says in a muffled voice, mouth stuffed with bread.

"Go ahead. It's yours."

"What brings you here, by the way? I'm sure it's not just for the cake."

"I just dropped by here to check on you quick. Director Jung called me to meet him around this time."

Seri groaned while reaching out for the bottle of water. She placed a straw and sipped on it then replies, "There he goes again multi-tasking too much. He didn't have any sleep for almost four days straight now."

His eyes were wide. He's a writer, of course he had his fair share of sacrificing his sleep but the director was something else. Filming wasn't easy indeed.

"Should I just.."

"No. Just meet him. We can't do anything about it."

The van's door loudly opened with her manager on the other side. "Seri, they're looking for you."

She pouts, a crumb of the sugary bread on one corner of her lips. "Mr. Hong."

"No. I can't pretend I have no idea where you always sneak to in between breaks."

---

Somewhere in Cheongdam, at nine in the evening, three people filled the apartment of the writer. Her room was a mess, full of clutters and stacks of unorganized papers. She pours wine at the table for her guests and didn't even mind changing her sleeping clothes to a proper ones.

"Director Jung, you can't just barge in my apartment anytime you want. You even brought someone," Writer Lee points out, offering them a plate of bread.

"In case you forgot, you already said you'd be available in the evening."

"Right, must be because I've been coming up with scenes for the past days," Lee scratches her temple and takes out her glasses, trying to relax her eyes from facing the computer too much.

When the discussion began, Jeong Hyeok observed that the too are rather close and casual with each other and openly even make fun of one's nonsense. He had been in several discussions for months now about his book being adapted to a film and so far, it has been going well.

The writer they'll be working with is not only good friends with most people involved in the project but also has a reputation of writing films that usually end up hitting it big in the market. Jeong Hyeok and Writer Lee had agreed to keep in touch more so she can closely work with him and know his thoughts in order to make his story effectively come more alive.

They ended the night with a can of beer with a few chips and a side dish of gossips from their workplace that confused Jeong Hyeok. He didn't know one of the staffs had an affair with a well known actor? He didn't know that this person, whoever that is, (all he heard is that he chews very loudly the entire people at the building's cafe could hear him) hates that person, another one he has no idea what it looked like.

His phone rang and the director immediately caught the name on the screen. His fonts were large than the normal ones, of course... anyone could read it even of they're a whole city away.

Seri.

"The.. Yoon?" Director Jung's nosiness inquired.

Jeong Hyeok gave him an awkward small smile and a nod in return before answering the call and excusing himself.

"He knows her?"

"Looks like it," Lee said. "Good thing you didn't gossip about her or else..."

There was another yawn from his phone. "Tell me why am I always yawning with a sheet mask on," Seri sleepily groans, her face cold and cool from the mask's serum, eyes covered in cucumber.

Good that she's back home and resting now, he thinks. For someone who started filming her first scene at four in the morning, she was drained and her body felt like jelly by the time she threw herself on her bed.

"I forgot to kiss you today," she mumbles.

The word instantly sent him red in the face, memories of their first kiss that night hitting him like a truck right there. It still makes his heart dangerously beat, as if he still can't believe that happened even after a few days had already passed.

"Do you want to do it again?"

That night, in response, Jeong Hyeok's hand cupped her face once more, pressing his lips to hers in a kiss that took their breath away. They were so lost in the sensation, the erratic beating of their heart that the sound from the tv seemed to fade.

They took their time, soft and slow with him exploring the smooth surface of her lips. It felt so right, in fact, too right, that they can't see themselves stopping any sooner. They poured all their pent up feelings locked up somewhere into the kiss as he then carefully decides to slip his tongue at the very next breath.

The contact had her gasping but she made no move to pull away and instead, welcomed it. She sighs, almost letting out a moan at how passionate it started to escalate, not getting enough, her palms warmly resting on his nape.

Then, like a needle that just popped a dreamy bubble, a knock on the door interrupted their makeout session.

They slightly pulled away but his hands were still on her cheeks, the sides of their noses touching, not wanting to part away just yet. Seri sighs, resting her forehead on his, waiting and wanting for him to kiss her again.

If she knew her sexy bestfriend could kiss her this good, she should've just jumped on him a long time ago.

But there came a knock again, followed by the opening of a door.

Reluctantly, he moved away from her, and so did she, fingers fiddling with the hospital blanket. He goes down the bed just in time for Mr. Hong to come into view.

"Miss Yoon, I'm here to let you know I'll be going home."

What.

Seri almost hissed at him. Then you should've just went home. Why did you have to interrupt...

What's more surprising and funny at the same time was that Seri swore that night that she will start to kiss him at least once every day from then on, all an attempt to ward off the awkward air after their first kiss.

And true to her words, she did. Every kiss they shared makes them comfortable but leaves them wanting more.

And more.

It wasn't just once. Anyone who'd hear that would laugh. It was more than thrice, many times enough to tempt her to even just be late to the set.

Replying back to her on the phone, he whispers tenderly, "I'll make it up to you tomorrow."

He heard her jokingly scoff, followed by the soft rustle of the duvet. "Ugh, it fell off. Okay, I'm done." She gets up and disposes the mask and goes back to her bed.

Thankfully, no one saw the smile on his face.

Only the reflection of the apartment's window foolishly staring and smiling back at him.
