i clicked the facetime option on the group chat and patiently waited for my friends to pop up on the screen. i was a little distressed but i felt like i was overreacting.
as i looked at my phone waiting for my friends to answer i seen eight faces pop up simultaneously. i seen akaashi, bokuto, kenma, kuroo, shoyo, suna, kita, and aran all appear on my screen— it made me smile, i truly love them with all my heart.
"alright sweetie, talk to us. tell us how you feel, honestly." shoyo spoke to me. i let out a breath that i didn't know i was holding and began to rant.
"i just feel weird about it, obviously i knew they were going to speak to each other but hanging out everyday is a little much. maybe i'm overthinking it, i mean i do trust him." i said, truthfully but still conflicted.
"it's not about trust though, it's about the whole principle. exes should not be friends with each other, especially if one of them are in a relationship." akaashi spoke as he played with the lollipop in his hand.
"but atsumu and sakusa didn't really date, they talked." suna said in response.
"it doesn't matter, they still were involved in each other romantically. that's like if y/n and daishou became friends and hung out all the time, would sakusa like that? no." akaashi told him.
"it's all really depending on the person. y/n if you genuinely feel uneasy about sakusa and atsumu's relationship then say something, you're feelings are valid as well." kita had said to me. i took his words into deep consideration but, there's always a part of me that thinks i should keep my mouth shut.
"i know what you're saying kita but it's hard. what if he blows up at me or what if it's starts problems with me and atsumu?" i asked pessimistically.
"both sakusa and atsumu seem like understanding people, if they get defensive then it gives you more of a right to be suspicious of their relationship." kita spoke calmly while shrugging his shoulders.
"and if they try something we're gonna jump them." shoyo said confidently. this caused everyone to burst into laughter, shoyo really did know how to brighten the mood.
"but wait, i thought atsumu was talking to someone right now?" kenma asked in a confused tone.
"shit he told me that, trouble in paradise?" suna spoke humorously. i giggled at the interaction as i felt the weight on my chest disappear for a moment.
most of my time is solely focusing on kiyoomi but i need to realize that i had a life outside of that, and i'm going to continue it. if kiyoomi can hand out with "friends" then so can i.
