hanging on the walls of your room,
scratched on your tender skin,
crawling out of your throat everyday.
I read a poem
on the crease of your palm,
on the crook of your nose,
on the edge of your lips,
I read a poem
as it swallowed you whole,
creating a void in your heart,
and healing the scar on your neck,
I read a poem
but the poem had no words,
no metaphors,
no stanzas.
but I did read a poem
because you never needed words
to recite a poem
my love, you are the poem.
