17. 𝘪 𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶
"morning yachi" I greeted yachi while I was looking through my locker
"good morning l/n" she said with a smile as she began to unlock her locker which was only a couple lockers down from mine
"you finally gonna talk to tsukishima today?" she asked
i sighed "nope!" she then sighed as well "I know I know and I will soon when I'm ready" I said
"how'd you know what I was gonna say?" she asked with a pout
"because you're you" I said as closed my locker door and locked it
she giggled at my statement "I kinda miss our little vacay" I said
"ugh I know it was so peaceful and fun" she said agreeing with me
she closed her locker and locked it "you're all done?" I asked referring to getting her things for class
she nods her head "yeah" and then we started walking to our english class
from a far we saw a group of three girls that looked like they were staring at us but they're probably not
we got closer and we actually were able to hear their faint voices
"isn't that the girl manager who's trying to get with all the boys on the volleyball team?"
"ew omg yeah"
"what a fucking hoe"
i looked over at yachi who had a frown on her. i knew the words they were saying affected her very much.
i got a hold of her hand and gave it a gently squeeze so she'd know I was here for her
she sent me a small smile which I returned but it soon faded when I let go of her hand
i walked over to the group of girls "I don't know who the fuck you guys think you are talking shit about my friend" I said as I clenched my fist
"who's your friend" one of the girl with long blonde hair asked
the other girls giggled
yachi came over to us "l/n just let it go" she lightly said to me
"no I'm not gonna just let it go, they're not just gonna get away with talking badly about you" I said firmly
"so what if we did? what we said was true anyways" another girl with short black hair said
"no one asked you lord farquaad" I said back
"the audacity this bitch has" the girl said as the other two girls gasped
"I'll have you three know that yachi is one of the greatest persons ever. it's not her fault you don't get any bitches" I spat at the girls
"aren't you that girl that's like obsessed with tsukishima? sit the fuck down" the ginger haired girl spoke
"look all I want is for you guys to keep her name out of your mouth's or we're gonna have a problem" I said with a deadly stare
"is that a threat?" the girl in the middle with blonde hair asked
"take it as whatever I don't care" I said clearly annoyed
"let's teach this bitch a lesson" the black haired girl said as she tried to slap me but I quickly stopped it
"I didn't want to start a fight but since you threw the first hit i guess it's fine.." I said as I got ready to throw a punch at the girl
i swung with all my force but a hand quickly went over mine in attempt to stop me from hitting the girl
"what the-" I said as I looked up to see a familiar face
tsukishima kei.
he was holding my hand back "let go" I said to the boy
he shook his head "if you fight you'll get in trouble"
"yeah control your bitch, she's fucking psycho" the blonde girl said which caused all the girls to laugh
i grit my teeth. god they have such punchable faces.
Tsukishima smirks at me then let's go of my hand and says "go"
i smirked as well as I threw a hard punch at the blonde haired girl causing her to fall back
she touched her lip and felt blood around it "that fucking slut!" she shouted in pain
"open your mouth one more fucking time, I dare you" I threatened
"you're such a whore" the ginger said as she spilled her drink all over me
i clenched my fists harder "oh you fucking bitch-" I was quickly cut off by tsukishima throwing something over my head
it was his school shirt, which covered my head where the drink was spilt.
i didn't notice but a huge group of people formed around us
"get a fucking life and go to class" I heard a voice say to the group of people recording
tsukishima quickly grabbed my hand and dragged me away from the scene
pushing past people away as we walked through the crowd
my head hung low "why?" I asked the boy that was dragging me away
"I don't want people taking pictures of you and making fun of you" he replied back
heat quickly rose to my cheeks as those words left his mouth
did he actually care?
"I can handle it" I plainly said
"I know you can" he said
after that we both stayed quiet for a few minutes.
"do you have extra clothes in your locker?" he asked
I think about it for a second then say "uhm no actually"
"let's go in here for a second" he said as he opened the door to an empty storage room
we both walked in and he shut the door behind us
"I think imma just go home" I said in a low tone
"let's go then" he said which made me perk my head up
"you'd leave with me?" I asked slightly confused
all he did was nod his head "I thought you'd probably hate me by now"
"why would I hate you?" he asked looking straight into my eyes
"because I ran off.." I said lowly since I was still quite embarrassed
"I hate everyone but you l/n" he said which quickly made me blush
he was only wearing an undershirt since he gave his school shirt to me so I could cover myself
"I understand why you would run off... I mean you were shocked after all" he said
I nodded my head "yeah but I'm glad it was you rather than anyone else though" i said honestly
red hues colored his cheeks as he pushed his glasses up a bit "well we should probably head to your house so you could change" he said quickly changing the conversation
"umm there's a sink right there so you can rinse your hair" he said pointing to the sink I was leaning on
"oh uh yeah" I awkwardly said as i begin washing my hair
we then suddenly heard a knock on the door and we froze up
"it's yachi and yamaguchi!" we heard yachi yell from the other side of the door
we both sighed in relief as tsukishima opened the door to let them in
they both looked over to me since I was rinsing my hair
"hey.." yachi said with a small smile
i finished washing my hair and quickly dried it with the shirt tsukishima gave me
"what's up?" I asked the shorter girl in front of me
"I brought you an extra sweater of mine" she said as she handed me her sweater
i almost teared up right there "yachi you're so sweet! thank you" I said.
"it's the least I could do, I mean you did just fight for me" she said as she looked over at yamaguchi
"that punch was nasty by the way" yamaguchi praised you
"i mean I did always fight with my older brothers..." I said as I shrugged my shoulders
"do you still want to leave?" tsukishima asked
"yeah there's gonna be way too much attention on me and that's the last thing I want" I said with a sigh
"wait you guys are ditching?" yachi asked
i nodded my head "yeah I don't want to be here and tsukishima offered to go with me"
"oh did he now?" yamaguchi asked in a teasing voice
"shut up" tsukishima plainly said to his best friend
"well I'm glad you two are talking again, stay safe okay? and text me when you get home" yachi told me
i nodded my head "yes mom" I said which made her giggle
"we'll see you guys tomorrow then" they said before they left the room
"okay well imma change real quick" I said as I began lifting up my shirt
Tsukishima's eyes were still focused on me
"are you gonna look away? or..." I began saying
he broke out of his trance with a blush on his face "oh yeah right" he said and quickly turned his back to me
I quickly change out of my uniform shirt and into the sweatshirt yachi gave me
(time skip to later)
"is anybody home right now?" tsukishima asked glancing over at me
"nope my dads at work and my brothers are at school" I plainly stated
"and your mom?" he suddenly asked which made me look over at him
i didn't tell him or anyone else yet about my mom except for kuroo and Kenma.
"I don't have a mom" I said with a soft smile
"oh I'm sorry..." he said with a low voice. i shook my head "no it's okay. It's not like she's dead or anything, we just never see her."
"I was like 7 years old when she left us.. yeah it was a week before my 8th birthday. She would constantly cheat on my dad with her ex boyfriend from high school and she actually ended up pregnant and she chose him and the baby over us. That's the short version of the story" I said with a small laugh
"how are you able to just laugh and smile about it?" he asked as he held my hand
our hands touching caught me off guard at first but then I relaxed a little
i melted into his touch, his warm hands were actually very comforting.
"it's the way I cope" i said
"do you wanna chill at my house for a bit?" I ask as we were standing outside my front door
"I guess"
"the fuck you mean I guess? yes or no" I ask the blonde
he rolls his eyes as he lets go of my hand "yes" he said in an annoyed tone
this caused me to let out a small laugh as i unlocked my door
i quickly sent a text to yachi letting her know that I made it home safely.
tsukishima and I both take our shoes off and place them by the door
"I think imma take a quick shower, I can still feel the stickiness from the drink in my hair" I said
he nods his head "you can wait in my room if you want" i said
"sure"
we made our way to my room and I noticed him observe every little detail of it.
it was his first time actually coming over to my house, let alone my room.
Tsukishima's pov:
i took my time analyzing every bit of l/n's room. It's just so her. Once you walk in her room you can tell exactly what she's like.
It also smelled so much like her, a faint rose water scent.
There's a bunch of tapestries covering the room and posters from bands she likes
but what made it more like her was that she had a small little section by her window with pictures of her best friends hung up by a string of lights.
and her bed looked really comfortable with just the right amount of stuffed animals on it.
the one that stood out the most was her yoshi plushie. it was quite adorable.
by her closet she had her desk which had her computer and what was sitting by her desk was an old dirty volleyball
it had three names written on it. tetsuro kuroo, y/n l/n, and kozume Kenma.
i really admire that she put so much thought into her room while mine on the other hand was plain and boring
i never really noticed just how interesting you were, l/n.
