Mirabel's POV
I was lying in bed. In my new home. In a different place.
'I think I should go back
But. No. I'm just a burden.
They'll probably ask me to leave.
But what about Isabela? And mom? Nah. They probably think I broke everything and tore this family apart as well.'
I sat up and kissed my daughter. I adopted her when I found her in the woods, she was 6 when I found her and now she's 10. I went to the kitchen to make breakfast when I found a note.

Hopefully, my bird friend was able to send this to you

The writing was messy and looked childish. Antonio probably wrote this when he was 5, he's probably older now.
'Should I come back home? Maybe I'll just go there for a second to see how far they've grown and how everyone is.' I made my decision. I started packing.
I only packed food and water since I'm not going to go back back, just a sneak peek, but just in case. I packed clothes and a toothbrush.
I planned to go early tomorrow morning.
Time skip brought to you by, my class having an annual ceremony award. I didn't get one :(
I woke up at 5 am to get ready. I already packed my bag yesterday so everything will be easy for me today. I brushed my teeth, took a bath, picked out my remaining clothes and everything else.
My short curly hair was now long straight hair. It reached my waist, which is where I cut it, and I decided to put my hair into a high ponytail.
My white shirt, with patterned butterflies, and my long teal skirt were still the same except it was too small for me so I made another version except it didn't have the patches of gifts. My green round glasses were now black because the green ones were too small.
"Mama, where are you going?" I was about to leave when my daughter asked me. "I'll be gone for awhile ok? Go to Señorita Dianos house, ok?" I asked. "Ok!" she said excitedly and went back to bed.
Once I left the house, I went to Señorita Dianos house. *knock knock noises*. The door opens. "Hola Señorita Madrigal, what do you need?" she asks. "I'll be gone for awhile, is it ok if you take care of my daughter?" I ask. "Of course!" she replies.
Now this is when I start my journey.

I finally reached the mountains. It had to be, what? 9 am by now.
All I had to do was go down. As I carefully made my way down, I nearly fell which caused me to flinch, which made me fall. "Ughhhh," I said as I slowly stood back up, I fell pretty hard.
I rubbed my head with my hand and when I looked at my hand, there was blood. Great. Just what I needed.
Then I saw a woman run up to me. "Are alright ma'am?" The woman asked me. She had tanned skin, like me, and gray hair in a bun. It was curly gray hair and it had some black streaks. She had brown eyes too. Oh.
It's my mom.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks. " I nervously said walking backward. "Here. " She said. Gently taking my hand and putting an Arepa con queso in it. "Thank you. " I said as I ate. Then everything felt much better.
I didn't know they got their gifts back.
"Come with me. " She said. "Oh no. I can't. " I said backing away.
'This wasn't my plan!' I thought to myself.
"Why not? I promise you nothing bad. " My mamí tried explaining but I couldn't. I can't go back and cause another problem. "No thanks, I wouldn't wanna be a burden. " I said. Whoops.
Then my mom started to cry but she quickly stopped herself. "C'mon, no don't say that. It'll be fine. I promise. " My mom said. I decided to follow her since I still wanted to see everyone else.
She didn't seem to remember me but I don't blame my mama. I mean, I've been gone for maybe 4 or 5 years.
Once we reached the Casita it was still normal. It was bigger and different but it was still alive. It opened the door by itself.
"Don't be scared. It won't eat you!" My mom said playfully. I let out a nervous chuckle. I walked inside and some of my familia was inside. "Hola, mi Vida.." My mom said kissing a tall girl. I think she's Isabela. I started to smile.
She didn't look very happy and she was holding a baby. I could feel my smile fade away. "Who is she?" Isabela asked. "That is...." Mama paused. "Sorry, I never got your name. " My mama said. "M-my n-name?" I stuttered as mama nodded. "O-oh we-well it's. " I nervously said looking around. "Mira- Mary! My name is M-Mary." I chuckled slightly. They didn't look convinced but hopefully, they didn't think too much about it.
"Mi Amor!" I heard a man shout. I looked at the door and saw a man. "How is my baby?" He kissed Isabela, who looked disgusted, then kissed the baby softly. "Mariano?" I muttered. "Hm?" mama questioned my noise.
"Nothing." I quickly replied. "Oh, you never got my name!" My mom said. "I'm-" she got cut off by the sound of thunder which sent the baby into tears. "Pepa! You're making the baby cry!" My mom shouted. "I'm sorry! Do you know where the ring went!? I can't find it!?" Tía Pepa shouted, exiting her room.
I slowly left the scene to go to the kitchen. To my surprise, I saw a guy. He was searching the kitchen and was holding this yellow ruana. "Camilo....." I whispered. "Hm?" He turned around and screamed. "Who are you!?" he shouted.
I didn't feel like answering, I was looking down to see a sun ring. It must be Tía's. "Hey! You're not answering me!" he shouted at me. I looked back at him then back on the ground. I picked up the ring. "Are you looking for this?" I asked holding up the ring.
"Sí! Can you give it to me?" He asked. His face filled with worry. "Why should I? You might be a thief?" I said putting the ring in my pouch. "That's my mom's ring. So can I have it back?" He asked. "Catch it!" I shouted. I threw the ring towards him as he quickly caught it.
It felt we were kids again. "Tell Tí- Tell your mother you found her ring. " I said. "Thanks!" Camilo exclaimed running out of the kitchen.
I heard some talking outside but I ignored it. I started looking for something to eat until I remembered that I had food in my bag. I sat beside a wall, removed my bag, and started searching for the food I packed. "Ughh" I groaned. I couldn't find it.
I stood up flipped my bag upside down and started to dump it. "What are you doing?" I looked to the doorway and saw Camilo again. "Uhm- L-looking for something. " I said as I kneeled looking for the food.
'Oh wait...It's in my pouch!' I thought
I chuckled slightly and got food from my pouch.
It's like my old one but bigger. "Who owns that?" Camilo asked pointing at my pouch. "Mine. " I said as I started to put my things back in my bag. "Then why does it say, Mirabel?" He asked me. "Why does that concern you," I reply.
Then, he snatched Antonio's stuffed toy that I was about to put in my bag. "Give that back!" I shouted trying to grab it but he raised his arm higher. "Who made this?" He asked backing away. "Why do you want to know!?" I asked him. Raising my voice as I put on my bag. "What is happening? My ears are hurting!" We both looked at the doorway to see Dolores. "Hello Mary, Camilo give that back....." Her voice became quiet when she say what Camilo was holding.
Camilo threw it at me, which hit my face. I was able to catch it somehow. "Camilo, she is a guest. Do not treat her with disrespect. " Dolores scolded Camilo. "Jeez, you sound like Abuela. " He rolled his eyes. Wow.
He changed a lot. Was it because I left?
"L-lo siento. " Camilo looked at Dolores and hugged her as she hugged back.
Lo Siento: I'm Sorry or Sorry(can't remember)
He mumbled something to Dolores, then they stopped hugging. "Okay...." I said. "I should get going, y'know?" I said. "Why don't you stay here for the night?" Camilo asked. "I saw you had packed clothes. " He pointed at my bag.
"I can't. I don't wanna be a -" "Burden, don't worry. You won't be one. " Dolores said. She was smiling. Did she know I was me? "Okay, then but I'll just stay for dinner. " I said. "It would be nice to have some company. You can stay overnight. " Camilo said...Again..."I'll think about it but I'll come by for dinner!" I exclaimed leaving the kitchen.
I was writing more for this chapter but I decided to put it in another chapter
