(All of this will be in Shay's POV, unless stated otherwise)
Shay
I woke up this morning to the sound of my alarm clock. I hit the snooze button, and then forced myself out of bed. I made my way to the bathroom to take a shower, only to realize that I forgot my clothes. Well, I'm not running down the hall naked, but one of the house rules is to make sure that you are dry, and dressed, before you leave the bathroom. Hopefully I'll be able to get my clothes before anyone wakes up. I wrap a towel around myself, and then tiptoe to my bedroom. See, this is why I wanted my own bathroom. I got my clothes and then, once done with shower, I got my stuff and headed off to school.
We live in a good sized house. Not huge, not tiny, but big enough. We live about 3 miles from my school, so I can't really walk there. I just got my first car, and I am finally able to drive it without having someone with me. My 18th birthday was last week, and my mom took me to get the car. I have always wanted a black car, but my mom convinced me to get a red one. She said that black cars get really hot during the summer. Me and my mom walked around the dealership for at least an hour, and nothing really caught my eye. My mom had pointed out a few cars, but I didn't like them. I wanted one that matched my personality.
I finally settled on a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. I chose this car because I can choose to remove the doors if I want, and I can remove the roof. I also chose it because I love nature. I love going for walks thru nature, and capturing how beautiful Earth can be. With this car, I can drive thru nature, and I can find a place where I can go when I need some quiet time.
I walked out of the house, made sure the front door was locked, and made my way to my Jeep. Most people get a four door Jeep, but I got a two door. It still had three seats in the back, but I liked the two door better because I like small cars. I called Gavin last night, and I was supposed to go get him this morning and drive him to school. Gavin has been my best friend ever since my parents got married. I was about 4 maybe 5 years old. He has helped me through a lot in my life, and I have helped him with a lot, too. Gavin is dating Tori, one of my other friends, and they have been dating for almost 2 years.
I started the car, and then my phone rang. It was Tori. I answered her and she asked if I can pick her up, since her parents are out of town on a business trip. I said I would since I was picking up Gavin anyway. After she hung up, I called Blakey and told her that I am picking up Tori and Gavin, and I asked if she wanted to join. She lives close enough to the school that she can walk. I mean, seriously. She only lives half a mile away from the school. Blakey said that she will be ready in five minutes, and then I began the long drive to Gavin's place.
I pulled up to Gavin's place about 30 minutes later. Before I was able to drive, I never really knew how far out he lived, and I thought I lived far. He lives 15 and I'll repeat, 15 miles from the school. The day after I got my car, I drove out to Gavin's. It took me 20 minutes, and I even stopped off at a Kum & Go because I was about to pee my pants. Funny story actually. I pulled up to Kum&Go and ran inside, holding my pants. I had my legs crossed, which might have been pretty funny looking since I was trying to run. I got a lot of weird looks, but they didn't understand. I am a girl and I HAD TO PEE.
I turned the corner to Gavin's neighborhood, and tried to remember which one was his. He may live far, but his house sure does make up for it. He isn't at all popular, but his family is loaded with money. They are not the kind of people who are snooty. They have money, but they are saving all of it so that Gavin can go to college. I pulled up to his house, and then texted him letting him know that I am here.
From Gavin: Ight' be out in a min
To Gavin: Hurry so your food don't get cold
From Gavin: Wait, food?!?!?
To Gavin: Yea, why?
I waited, but didn't get any reply from him. I put my phone back on my lap, and looked up, nearly shitting myself. Gavin was pressed up against my window, sticking his tongue out while eyeing the food. I laughed at him. He was obsessed with food. If he was taking a long time, just say food and he'll be there within the second. I motioned for him to get in. He ran around the car to the passenger side, and then grabbed the bag of food. He knew what was his, since I always get him the same thing from Sonic. He got out his foot-long coney, tatter-tots, and then grabbed the cup of coffee that had his name on it. The coffee came from QuikTrip. Once he was settled in, I began my drive to Tori's place.
The whole time we were driving to Tori's, I heard nothing but 'cruuuunnnch. chewchewchew .slurp. gulp.cruuuuuncccch' . We pulled up to Tori's place not even 10 minutes later. I am glad I left early, seing as it has already been an hour and I still had another person to get. Tori was already outside waiting for me. By this time, Gavin had finished his food, and half of his coffee. Tori came around to the passenger side, and Gavin got out to let Tori in.
When Tori sat down, I dug in my bag and got out a granola bar. I knew that Tori loved granola bars, and that she never ate breakfast. So, I decided to bring her a granola bar for breakfast. She happily took it and devoured it. We pulled up to Blakey's place not even 20 minutes later. She came walking out eating a banana. Once she got in, we were finally heading to school.
We got to school over 30 minutes before school started. Tori and Blakey like to get to school early, so that they can go to the drama room and rehearse before class started. They had a big play coming up, and they had two of the most important character roles. The play was The Diary Of Anne Frank. Tori had the role of Anne, and Blakey had the role of reading what Anne writes in her diary. Gavin had drama too, but he didn't want to do the play. He has extreme stage fright. Gavin went to the pool area, seeing as that was his first, second, and third hours of the day. I made my way upstairs to my locker.
I was about to put in my combination when I got a text from my mom. She says that it would be best if I stay at a friends house tonight instead of coming home. Tori and Blakey said that I am always welcome to stay the night, and that I don't even have to ask. I sent a quick text to Blakey saying that I'll be taking her home after school and staying the night. After I got my stuff, I made my way to my first hour. I sat down right as the bell rang.
I watched as people flooded into the room and took their seats. I knew everyone's first and last name, but I am not a stalker. I just pay attention to every detail, even the smallest of details. But as the late bell rang, and Mr. Glardo started lecturing, the door opened and in walked someone who I had never even seen before. Mr. Glardo said "Class, we have a new student today. Please welcome KJ.", everyone waved and then Mr. Glardo turned to him and said, "KJ, why don't you sit back there by Shaylinne. She won't bite". KJ turned and sat down at the empty desk next to me.
I turned to him and said, "Hey, I am Shaylinne, but you can call me Shay.". He nodded. I guess he was shy. I turned my attention back to Mr. Glardo, and began taking notes. After a while, I heard a small, yet deep, voice. "KJ......" I turned to look at him. "What?" I asked. He replied, "KJ. My name is KJ." I said "Nice to meet you. Where do you come from?"
"My name is KJ, but you can call me KJ. I came here from Florida, but I didn't have many friends." He said. I felt bad for him, but I too didn't have very many friends. "It's okay, me and my friends can let you join our little 'crew'". I said. He nodded and then went back to taking notes. I felt good for making him feel welcome. I kind of liked his personality. I couldn't wait to introduce him to my friends.
The bell rang signaling the end of first hour. I asked KJ what his next class was, and he just handed his schedule to me. I looked it over, and saw that we had every class together except for fifth. I had French, while he had Football practice. He asked if he could join me and my friends at lunch, and I said that he is welcome to anytime. Second and third hour went by fast. When third hour was over, I looked over to KJ and motioned for him to follow.
We walked out of the class and immediately found Gavin, Tori, and Blakey. We then walked into the cafeteria and sat down to eat. Well, Gavin and KJ went to get food, but me, Tori, and Blakey found a table and sat. We didn't eat school lunches. I don't know why, they just don't seem filling. When KJ and Gavin came back with food, I introduced KJ to everyone. He seemed to light up just being around us. Blakey, Tori, and Gavin got into a discussion about the upcoming prom, while me and KJ got to know eachother.
KJ was actually very good looking. He had dark hair, brown eyes, and a very attractive hair style. His laugh was very....how would I put this....very sexy. He was the complete opposite of Gavin. Gavin had hazel eyes, blonde hair, and his teeth used to be jacked up before he got braces. Gavin is hard to get used to. But once you get to know him, he is actually very caring. Tori and Blakey look alike. Tori has blonde hair and blue eyes, while Blakey has a little darker blonde and bluegreen eyes. I, on the other hand, have dark blonde hair, I have black underneath to bring out my hair color more, and I also have light brown eyes. I am tallish, and everyone always tells me that I have nice legs, and that I could be a model. I don't like my legs. It's hard to explain, but I just don't like my legs.
KJ lives in the same neighborhood as me, and come to find out, he is actually living in the house across the street from mine. He has a little brother, and he is in wrestling. I find that kind of attractive, in all honesty. He told me that he came here from Florida, but he wouldn't tell me why. Whenever I asked him why he had to move, he just looked down at his hands and quickly changed the subject. I figured that I might not want to push it, so I just talked about something else. I asked him if he would want to go to church with me on Sunday, and he said he would love to. I told him that I would be there around 10 in the morning, and then I gave him my number so he could text me. Right after I gave him my number, the bell rang and we went our separate ways to class.
