my bathroom was across from my bedroom and the faucet constantly made that infuriating noise, and it wasn't like my father could be bothered to get it fixed.
i was raised in what was left of my my family's home in Shiganshina district, south of wall maria. i was living with my drunken, deadbeat dad and my little brother, Vega. him and i are eight years apart. him being four and me being twelve.
i crept down the wooden stairs and peeked around the corner into the trashed living room, and at my father. who was permanently laying in his recliner when he wasn't chasing me through the house with an empty bottle or out at whatever bar he could keep from getting kicked out of.
i hated to admit it, but i provided for our family. i had just returned from town, where i'd sell small animals i'd venture further into wall maria to hunt.
my mom passed only four months after having Vega. she was apart of the scout regiment and had hurried to return to work as soon as she could after having a baby. she was killed by an abnormal titan. the whole family was devastated, and my dad relentlessly uses her death as an excuse to hate the scouts.
"they're a waste of my taxes, someone coulda got off their ass and saved her but they didn't..morons." he'd always remind me as if i'd agree with him.
it also gave him a reason to hate me, because i planned on joining the scouts just as she did. as already mentioned, i was twelve years old and old enough to run off and join the scouts and ditch this miserable life.
the only thing holding me back was Vega. i didn't even want to know how he'd fend for himself without me here. between fathers mood swings, aggression, and financial incompetence, my little brother would never survive at this age.
so as one does, the morning i set out for my training, i left Vega outside my aunts doorstep. the moment when she opened the door and took him in with her after a while of me tearfully begging her to understand my cause still haunts me to this day.
but she was better than my father. she was a seamstress, and made a steady income. and even had children of her own. but she never came to my family's rescue because of her rocky past with my father.
but anyway, this was years ago. i'm now eighteen. i graduated top 10 in the corps, only second to mikasa ackerman.
i'm around 5'2"-5'3" with long platinum blonde hair that reaches my hips and dark brown eyes.
i live alone with my cat, Enyo in a small, but comforting apartment. I'm in a relationship with a guy named Jean Kiersten. He's tall and light brunette. we've been dating for around a year, but have been a bit of a thing for closer to two. we've had our ups and many downs, but i guess we make things right.
He has a bit of a problem with "getting too drunk" and proceeding to fuck every girl in the regiment. but he always has some kind of excuse or sob story for me to take him back, so we work.
enough about that though.
