Heaven seems cold,
Colder than dark,
I wonder why,
Hell burns in mad fury,
Flames hungry for power.
This night is colder than heaven,
The clock strikes twilight,
The tower trembles under its resonance,
The moon rises, a ball of light,
In this valley.
The hearts of darkness beckons,
Their pull, a siren's call,
My soul is shrouded in it,
Feet dragging away,
I try to fight, but in vain.
Anger and hate consumes me,
As I settle in this pitch-black pool of poison,
I gaze down at my resting hands,
My face a mask of stone,
My voice ringing out tonelessly.
I look down at the cold water,
Seeing myself, mantled in black,
The one I see in the mirror,
Says a different story,
One that I'm ashamed to admit.
Pain washes over me,
Like daggers in a bloodied chest,
Memories play out like a tv,
Those which I tried hard
To lock away and never visit.
Broken promises litter the floor like broken vessels,
Expectations lie, cold and stale,
The cave holds no meaning,
None other than that of hate and fury
That broils inside.
The heavens beckon now,
Hell's fury not gone,
Dreams fade away,
Along with the others,
A broken tool, unfixable like them.
