Kay-
I waited for Zay at the kitchen island until I finally heard the lock turn and the door opened. He looked at me with a smile but it instantly faded once he saw my face.
"What's up ?" He asked before walking over and I looked up at him before placing all of the folders that I had down
"You went in my desk, and took Kash's case files ?" I asked and he looked at me in shock
"Kay-
"Zay don't even use no lame ass excuse bruh, if this shit gets leaked wrongfully I could loose my job, what the fuck ?" I asked and he sighed
"James didn't tell me all that he just said he needed it to...l" he paused
"To what ?" I asked before crossing my arms and he looked at me with guilt in his eyes But I shook my head with tears in mine before instantly wiping my face.
"And my stupid ass trusted you-
"Kayonna I never would intentionally hurt you, this was just something that I let get to me." He sighed before attempting to comfort me but I moved
"Am I wrong for wanting justice for my nephew Kay?" He asked
"Not at all. You're wrong for stealing my daughter's phone, printing off her messages, printing off Kash's messages, breaking into my office, stealing my shit, jeopardizing my job, and making me feel bad for something that you were guilty for." I told him and he looked at me
"Yea, but Liyah's gonna go down and speak on what actually happened to Marcus, so happy justice right ?" I asked before grabbing my purse
"Kay.." he sighed before grabbing my arm and I snatched it
"You blew it Zay." I told him before leaving.
Liyah text me letting me know that she made it to Ari's safely with everyone else and I started the car before heading her way.

After Liyah explained everything that went down I sighed before looking at Ari
"Should we go meet them, by what she just explained there's more then just him against Kash and Brian." I explained and Ari nodded causing Kaliya to furrow her eyebrows
"No ma'am, y'all are not getting ready to risk y'all's life, like y'all some little crazy ass white chicks. I'm sick y'all asses doing stupid ass shit for stupid ass shit. No, just no." Kaliya said and we all sat in silence before eventually busting out laughing
"Kaliya what ?" I asked and she smacked her teeth
"Y'all just said some stupid ass shit, that's like saying 'Let's split up' during a scary movie." She said and I shook my head.
"Ok how about this, London's already upstairs asleep, we can get some wine, watch a movie, and just calm down for the night, we all had a long day." Ari suggested and I nodded Before looking at Ary and Liyah who was over in the kitchen area talking.
Once I walked over she looked up at me and I noticed a sudden scratch on her faces
"I'm sorry that you're going through this." I sighed and she shook her head
"I'm fine, I'm just hoping that daddy doesn't find him. I know that sounds weird, but I was planning on going to the station in the morning to get this shit over with." She explained and I nodded
"You know that once become a witness you have to testify at court right ?" I asked and she nodded
"And there is also a possibility that he may not be found guilty if he comes hard enough." I said and she sighed before nodding
"But we'll come harder, I got you." I told her before we heard the doorbell ring and Ari got up to get it.
She sighed before looking over at me and j walked over to the door before seeing Zay.
"We not doing this." I instantly told him and he sighed before pulling me outside and shutting the door causing me to snatch my arm
"Don't touch me what's the fuck is wrong with you ?" I asked before looking him up and down
"Can you at least hear me out ?" He asked and I crossed my arms
"There is nothing that you can say or do to piss me off any less right now." I told him
"But go." I added and he sighed
"When James came to me he had pure intentions on getting justice for Marcus, after a while I started venting on how Liyah was the only witness and how she didn't want to come forward and he filled my head with all types of bullshit and basically manipulated me." He started
"He made me think that it was nothing else that he could do without Liyah, and eventually came up with something involving Kash. He said that if he got a case on Kash, it would help him towards getting Liyah's statements without her basically having to testify." He added
"I'm admitting that shit was stupid m, and I genuinely am sorry, I was just caught up in trying to help my nephew out."he said and I crossed my arms
"So you wasn't sorry when you broke into my office, stole my case files, went against my wishes, took your guilt out on me, stole my daughter's phone and privacy, almost cost me my job, and almost got her father back in jail?" I asked and he sighed
"Kay-
"So you still expected her to help you after all of that shit that you almost caused ?" I asked
"I wasn't thinking, and my head wasn't on straight. None of this shit was making sense at the moment and I'm sorry." He told me and I felt tears swelling up again but I instantly wiped them
"You need help." I said before clearing my throat
"Liyah is going to the station in the morning, you're gonna get what you wanted, justice right ?" I asked and he looked at me with guilt in his eyes.
"What I wanted, but I'm not focused on that shit anymore Kay." He told me
"We'll get focused, because after this shit is over you won't have to worry about me anymore." I told him
Kash-
"Hold on there him." I told Brian
"You sure ?" He asked
"That's him for sure." Jr said before Brian slowed the car down and As soon as I was getting ready to roll the window down my phone rung and it was Kay.
I declined it but she called right back causing me to sigh and answer
"Let it go." She told me and I furrowed my eyebrows
"Let what go ? This crazy ass lil nigga ?" I asked
"Yes, we're letting this shit get handled hoe it's suppose to get handled-
"Kay fuck that shit, this nigga ain't suppose to be no wheee but six feet under, im not playing this shit no more." I told her
"Can you just shut the fuck up and listen for once ?" She asked and I looked at the phone in shock before Brian and Tried to cover their laughs causing me to take her off speaker phone
"You got people on your back, if you kill that man, you and everybody in that car is going to jail." She said and I furrowed my eyebrows
"What you talking bout ?" I asked
"Just come back to Ari's and I'll explain, but deadass fall back." She told me before hanging up and I sighed before rubbing my head
"What now ?" Brian asked
"Back to Ari's I sighed

I continued to stare at Kay blankly.
"You waited to tell me this shit why ?" I asked
"Because you do this thing where you react before you think.." she started
"Is that right ?" I sarcastically asked
"Yea, yea it is." She sarcastically answered before rolling her eyes and I sighed
"Ok, so what's next Kay ?" I asked and she looked at me
"Since I don't have a say in shit anymore." I added before looking at her and she sighed
"Nothing is next for you except to let this shit go, don't make any more moves and let me handle it." She told me
"Last time I let you handle shit with this James nigga I did time for it." I said and she sighed
"Yea well this time my job is on the line, so if all fails it'll be me going down, not you." She told me
"I'ma fuck Zay up next." I pointed and she shook her head
"And then what exactly would that solve ?" Kay asked and I didn't say anything
"Exactly, you don't think that it's probably time to let that type of shit go ? What happened to you leaving this type of life ?" She asked
"Shit Brian needed me-
"Needed, as in no longer needs you." She said and I nodded
"So get it together, cause all of them ass whooping gon fuck you up one day, and it might be me." She shrugged and I squinted my eyes at her
"So You gon beat my ass now ?" I asked
"You never know, I might be your karma." She shrugged
"You literally haven't grew since High school, I don't wanna hear that shit." I laughed
"That's not true, I gained weight." She said before placing her hands on her hips
"I was 110 in high school, now I'm 140." She cheesed
"You weigh 140, and yo 5'3 ass think you can beat mine?" I asked
"5'5." She corrected and I smacked my teeth before she stood beside me not even passing my shoulder.
I turned her way instantly towering over her before looking down at her and she crossed her arms before laughing
"Fine, you got this one, but don't be forgetting that I get active." She pointed before opening the door and leaving the room.
I laughed before shaking my head and following her
The next morning.
Liyah-
"Bitch." I heard waking me up and I furrowed my eyebrows to see Janiyah
"Biiiiiitch." She repeated phone in hand and I sighed loudly
"Leave me alone." I mumbled
"No, you're literally going viral right now." She told me and I furrowed my eyebrows before sitting up
"Oh now you're interested ?" She said and j mocked her before looking at the phone
"Keshawn Brown Rush's backstage to save his little sister. Does Aaliyah and Keshawn's manager Daivon have a fling ?"
"I'm getting pressed over this ?" I asked before furrowing my eyebrows
"I would've thought the attention would've been on Jr, but they're more so worried about you and Daivon." She said and I rolled my eyebrows
"Why us ? I don't even know him, what about him helping out gave off relationship vibes and why does it matter ?" I asked
"So you must not know who Daivon is ?" She asked and I looked at her confused
"He makes music, he's big in the content industry, he's part of the reason as to why Jr's name got as big as it is." She said
"Plus he's fine as hell." She cooed and I lightly hit her with a pillow before she set beside me to show me a video of him escorting me out.
"I think the way he's holding you have off very much, 'y'all better not touch my girl' vibes." She smiled and I rolled my eyes before looking at the time.
"I got other things to worry about today, they got that." I mumbled before getting up and walking off to the bathroom.
After getting ready my ma came in with her keys
"You ready ?" She asked and I nodded before walking towards the car with her.
"So who is Daivon and what did I miss out on ?" She asked and I smacked my teeth
"You tell me, I don't know that man." I mumbled
"Well I wanna know because both of y'all are covering my timeline and I see you enough everyday so.." she said before laughing and I smacked my teeth before laughing with her
"Janiyah said he makes music, so I'm guessing he has clout. Daddy said he manages Jr and is also a good friend of his." I explained
"Well investigate, go to the shadroom and find his Instagram."
"Wait I'm on the shade room ?"I asked in shock before immediately pulling out my phone and my ma shook her head before laughing
"Damn he does have mad clout." I said after eventually finding him
"He didn't give gf any celebrity clout when you were with him for a hour ?" My ma asked
"Not at all, he was humble and cool as hell." I said
"Well we'll figure that out later, let me warn you about what's getting ready to happen though." She told me as we pulled up to the station
"They're gonna ask you plenty of questions, don't lie, you have nothing to lie about, so tell them everything that happened that night." My ma told me and I nodded
"They might trip you up and tell you to get a lawyer, you tell them you don't need one because you're a witness but they can't make you go on trial."
"Can you not come in with me ?" I asked
"You're not a minor, I'm not required to." I said and I saw James comes outside and he began walking towards the car
"I thought I wasn't suppose to talk to him ?" I asked
"It's his case, you really don't have a choice." She told me before getting out the car with me
"thank you for agreeing to help with this case Liyah, it means a lot." He told her
"You're gonna get plenty of money out of this one, so after you solve it, go back to leaving us alone ight ?" My ma asked and he looked at her before nodding
"Let's just get started." He told me before leading me inside and I sighed
"You need water or anything?" He asked
"I'm good." I told him dryly before the door opened again to another woman
"Detective Harris, it's nice to meet you." She told me and I hesitantly shook her head before she sat besides James
"So you and Marcus had a strong relationship correct ?" James asked and I nodded
"So what happened the night of his death?" He asked getting straight to the point and I looked down before taking a deep breath
"We we're playing basketball, sat down to have a conversation, and a few minutes later they drove by shooting, Marcus rolled on top of me shielding me from the bullet and he passed minutes after." I truthfully explained
"Do you know who did it ?" James asked and I looked at him before nodding.
"Jamel Davis." I admitted
"Why would he want to hurt Marcus ?" Harris asked
"He didn't want to hurt Marcus, well he wanted to hurt him over me-
"So he did went to hurt Marcus ?" She interrupted
"Can you let me talk ?" I asked before she looked at James causing the room to fall silent
"Jamel broke into my home while I was sleeping and we got into a altercation, he was forcing me to leave but Marcus came in time stopping him, I'm pretty sure he had a issue with that, but he originally wanted to-
"Why did you wait all this time to come forward if y'all had such a strong relationship?" She asked
"And did somebody else have anything to do with it ?" James asked and I looked at him
"I needed time to pull myself together-
"It sounds like a cover up to me." Interrupted
"I don't have nothing to cover up, I'm a witness, I saw everything that happened, y'all wanted me to talk so bad and now that I'm talking it sounds like a cover up ?" I asked And they looked at each other
"Jamel Davis, we'll get him in custody and update the family of Marcus's on the turnout." He said
"Right and what about me?" I asked
"You'll get a update on if we don't track any evidence back to find him guilty, even if he does he'll be eligible for a court date at which you'll have to attend." He said
"Would you like a lawyer ?" He asked before looking at me.
"I don't need one if I'm a witness." I told him and he cleared his throat before Harris got up and left
"She trained you well huh ?" He asked before I rolled my eyes and got up.

"He's weird as hell." I told my ma
"Telling me." She mumbled
"What does he have against us that makes him so bitter ?" I asked and she sighed
"History."
After we finally got back home, I walked in to see Jr at the island talking to Daivon.
"This doesn't mean that Ima have to start seeing more of you right ?" I asked bluntly and my ma nudged me
"Sorry She's had a long morning." My ma waved off
"She can speak for herself." I mumbled.
"That's my bad it was weird for me to just pop up, but you just be Kay ?" He asked before shaking her head
"I'm Daivon I manage Jr , I've heard a lot about you." He smiled and she gave him a small smile also
"You're gonna do me a favor." Jr said and I raised my eyebrows
"Gonna ?"
"Yes gonna." He smiled before patting Daivon on his shoulder
"You're gonna go on a date with Daivon." He said and I tilted my head
Ary-
"I wanna go on a trip, the only thing is I can't drink." I sighed and Janiyah lightly laughed
"We do need at least one girl's trip before you drop, I can't believe I'm getting ready to be a momty." She said before rubbing my belly
"A what ?" I asked
"A mom and a aunty, aint that right sis." She coo'd and I laughed
"I don't think I can't deal with a girl, hopefully sis is a boy." I said before pulling out some fruit.
"Girl a boy sounds good, but you gotta think, you're raising a man. I panic everyday at the fact that he could be a player, a dead beat, momma's boy, you don't really see many successful men with their heads on straight now and days." She said
"So is that why Omari spends so much time at his aunts ?" I asked and she sighed
"Honestly yes, we both know that me and Jr had a baby at the most inconvenient time, but I'm questioning how we gon do this shit from now on. When we travel, Omari is gonna have to come with us. Jr is getting clout now, so then cameras, press, all that is gonna become apart of his future you know ?" She asked and I nodded
"You said you don't really see many successful men and you're living with one. You don't have anything to worry about, because Omarion has someone to look up to." I said
"I'm just glad to see him getting it the right way, Jr on the other hand didn't have anyone positive to look up to, he just had his ma to strive for." I said and she nodded
"When do we find out the gender ?" She asked
"One more month." I said and she cheesed
"Montyyy!!" She said before gasping
"If it's a boy you should name him Monty."
"It's giving military boo I don't know.." I trailed and she smacked her teeth
"I want something uncommon." I said and she took a minute to think
"How about Chante ?" She asked
"It's giving but it's not " I said and she sighed loudly
"Did y'all ever figure out what y'all were gonna do after he's drafted ?" Niyah asked and I sighed
"The plan is suppose to be LA, but.." I trailed off
"But..."
"I didn't say anything yet, but I got offered a internship with this big company in charlotte, and they want to interview me for it." I said before smiling
"And you're going right ?" She asked
"It wouldn't make sense to interview, get the internship, and then move to LA, it's literally no point." I said
"Don't put his career over yours Ary, you work just as hard as he do, y'all can figure it out." She advised and I nodded
"I don't know I'm just ready to get back home, coming down here costs me my peace every time." J sighed
"That's Houston for you."
Liyah-
"I'm gon what ?" I asked confused
"You're gonna go on a date with Daivon-
"Nigga I heard you the first time." I mumbled
"Press is more so focused on y'all two, than what the hell I was doing behind the scenes, so we gon continue to let them eat up y'all two, and keep my name out the mix." Jr explained
"You don't think I don't have other problems to deal with.." I trailed
"Ouch I'm a problem ?" He sarcastically asked
"Shit you could be, is he problem Keshawn the third ?" I asked and he smacked his teeth
"Stop being so damn mean." My ma told me and I looked at her
"You could use the air, plus y'all aren't a real thing anyways." She told me
"And it's social media, they'll get what they want and fall back later, this won't last long." Jr said
"Where to ?" I asked
"I got us tickets to the Rockets Game." Daivon said
"Tonight ?" I asked and he nodded before I looked at Jr
After a while of us talking he eventually left before I gave Jr a death stare
"I don't even know this man, and you want me play family with him and shit ?" I asked and he sighed
"Get to know him, he's gonna be around a lot, we'll at least around me. He's coo as hell, if paps telling you he trust him, you can trust him too." He explained and I squinted my eyes at him
"Fine, but after this falls over don't expect shit else from 'us'" I said and he put his hands up in surrender
"Just this one thing." He told me

A few hours later.
"I just think we all need to have some drinks and talk things over." Simone said
"Simone it's nothing to talk over, he snaked me and I can't forgive him for that." I said and she nodded
"He did a lot, I understand that."she said
"But I at least want y'all on good terms, God didn't bring you two together for no reason, I think he still has a spot in your life." She said
"That shit is dead." I said before pouring a glass of wine and she nodded
"I respect that."
"Can I go to daddy's?" London sighed out of boredom
"No ma'am, we can try to see if you can go somewhere with daddy how about that ?" I suggested and she nodded before I FaceTimed him
"Wassup?" He answered
"Your daughter misses you." I told him
"Where she at ?" He asked and I pointed the camera at her
"What you wanna do, it's already getting late Lon ?" He asked
"I want ice cream." She cheesed
"Ice cream ?" He asked and she nodded
"How about we go to Mr Gatti's and get pizza and ice cream, plus some games ?" He asked and she cheesed
"Ok give the phone back to mommy." He told her before she handed it back to me
"I'm finishing up some stuff at the club, but I'll be there in the next hour." He told me before we hung up.
I loved how he never turned her down, it's like since he missed so much of her life already, now he won't miss a second of it.
After getting London dressed, I started straightening up for a while before Kash eventually came. London ran up to hug him and he scooped her up before kissing her head
"You don't wanna come ?" He asked
"It's late, and I'm in the middle of cleaning."I waved off
"The house still gon be here to clean later, you can get out for another hour or so." He said and I sighed Before London Smiled at me before I broke and grabbed a jacket
"Where's Liyah and Ary ?" Kash asked as he buckled London in
"Ary is at Shawn's, but she said she was on her way back to the house, Liyah's on a fake date." I answered and he raised his eyebrow
"Date ?"
"Fake Date." I correct
"What's that suppose to mean ?" He asked
"What it sounds like, fake. Liyah ended up getting a bunch of clout from that Daivon dude, so Jr sent them on a date to keep eyes off of him." I explained and he shook his head before getting into the car
"That nigga had one job." He said and I lightly laughed before he pulled out.
My phone started ringing from Zay and I declined it causing him to text.
Zay: So you really gon let this shit end us ?
7:32pm
I rolled my eyes ignoring the text before my phone rung again.
"You might as well answer." Kash said
"Mind ya business." I told him and he smacked his teeth
"Yo attitude been real out of pocket lately, but it's ight we gon fix that." He told me and I smacked my teeth
"I don't be having a attitude, and it won't be no We or no fixing." I corrected and he gave me a side eye before pulling up to a red light and he turned to fully look at me before licking over his bottom lip
"Stop." I told him before looking away and he chuckled
"Oh ight then." He smiled before continuing driving and I rolled my eyes annoyed already.

We chased London around the arcade for about an hour before finally sitting down to eat.
"So you gon tell daddy what you did at head start the other day ?" I asked Lon and she stuffed her mouth with pizza before mumbling
"Ahttt you not slick, what you do?" He chuckled before she swallowed her food
"I got off the swing for a second to get my shoe, and this girl took it and wouldn't give it back so I pushed her off." She explained
"Was this the same girl that called you a monkey last time ?" Kash asked and she nodded
"Mm, we'll it sounds like this girl is becoming a problem." Kash said before looking at me
"But still Lon, if you feel like she's messing with you stay calm and let me know so I can handle it." I told her
"But if somebody out they hands on you, beat they ass-
I cleared my throat cutting him off
"Defend yourself." I corrected
"This is why all three of them are so blunt with terrible attitudes." I said and he smiled like it was a compliment.
After a while london reached for my phone and I gave it to her to start watching YouTube.
"So did Liyah go up to speak this morning ?" Kash asked and I nodded
"Ight so now what ?" He asked and I raised my eyebrows
"We wait, but if they start playing games, we gotta handle that shit ourselves after all." I shrugged before continuing to eat and I noticed him staring again.
"It's run to watch someone eat." I said with a mouth full of food and he laughed before putting his hands up in surrender.
We got London her ice cream before spending a few more minutes in the arcade.

I let Kash put London to sleep, giving me a chance to shower, and by the time I was dressed and leaving my room he was talking to Ary downstairs while putting his coat back on.
"If she not back by 10:00 call me." He told Ary and I rolled my eyes knowing he was referring to Liyah
"Let that girl live." I told him and he flipped me off before grabbing his keys and kissing Ary's head.
"It's time to get Lon a big girl bed, her legs almost hanging off of that one." He said
"I'll get on it, Bye." I told him before pointing at the door and he chuckled
"Damn goodnight to you too."
