Kay-
After a while Braxton (Simone's fiancé) ended up showing up to have a few drinks also.
"Wait so you co-own this club ?" Braxton asked and j shook my head no
"I used too, I ran it while Kash was locked up but he's back now so." I shrugged and he nodded
"It's nice, you and Zay should consider doing something like this." He said and Simone nudged him
"It's fine Simone." I waved off
"My bad, we talked about it and I'm sorry that he's taking a lot out on you." He told me and I nodded
"He didn't come with you tonight ?" I asked and he shook his head
"But if I were you I'd go by, he really does like you Kay and I think the situation is worth working out." He told me and I nodded before we heard a announcement go over the speaker and everyone turned to the stage to see Kash holding the Mic with Angel by his side
He started talking announcing the count down for the new year and I looked at my phone noticing that it had just turned 11:59.
Everyone began counting down and we all ran up towards the center before joining in with shots in hand.
"5...4...3...2...1 !"
"HAPPY NEW YEAR!!" We all yelled before downing our shots and immediately cheering
Everyone around us shared a kiss including Kash and Angel before the music started back blasting.
"Okay I think I'm done with y'all for the night I'm at my drunk limit." I told them and everyone laughed
"You ok to drive ?" Ari asked and I nodded
"Text me when you make it." She told me before I turned around and began walking towards the exit b I saw Kash come down from the stage before furrowing his eyebrows
"You good ?" He asked
"Yea why wouldn't I be." I replied and he raised his eyebrows
"Nothing you done for the night already ?" He asked
"I am." I told him before passing him.
Shortly after Brian came over before furrowing his eyebrows also
"You good ?" He asked and I sighed
"Do I look like I'm getting ready to pass out or something ?" I asked and he smacked his teeth
"I was just checking up on yo lil ass." He chuckled and I laughed with him
"Yes I'm fine." I told him and he nodded before giving me a hug
"Happy New Year, and be safe." He told me and I nodded before finally leaving
Once I made it to my car I sat to sit and think about if I wanted to stop at Zay's or not.
After making up my mind I started the car before heading towards his direction.

He opened the door before sighing and I tilted my head.
"Damn well Happy New Year to you too." I told him
"My bad I didn't mean to make it sound like that I'm just not really in the mood to argue right now." He told me
"I didn't come to argue, when have I ever?" I asked before we sat in silence
"I brought insomnia cookies." I smiled before revealing them and after a while he broke before lightly laughing and stepping aside to let me in.
"Fat ass." I told him before he shut the door behind me
"You finna be in this box just as much as I am." He laughed before taking the box out of my hand and I followed him over towards the couch before we both sat down and I rested my head on his shoulder before breaking a cookie apart.
"You know it's you right ?" I asked
"What you mean ?"
"You told me it was either you or kash, you know it's always been you right ?" I asked
"It's just, I can't see us having what y'all had, and I guess that bothered me." He told me and I shook my head
"I don't want what me and kash had. You're looking at the history and amount of time we had together and I look at the trauma and amount of tears I've had to deal with alone." I told him
"It took me forever to say that it was you over him because I do care about him, and I wouldn't want anything to happen to him, with that being said my decision is to protect him and that's just how it's gonna be." I said and he nodded
"I understand Kay, I'm sorry, I'll figure it out." He told me before kissing my head and I nodded
"Nah but Thank you for being willing to actually sit down like this instead of giving up automatically." He told me
"We grown, plus you can't get rid of me that easily." He cheesed before stuffing a cooking in his mouth and then biting the other half of it off
"Now that was some fat shit." He told me before we both busted out laughing.
He pulled me down to his lap before bending down to kiss me and I lightly bit his bottom lip while he pulled back.
Interrupting, his phone rang and he looked at it before picking it up.
"Give me a minute." He told me before getting up to walk away and I sat up before coming across some papers on the coffee table
I leaned over to spread them out realizing that they were all papers from the police department and underneath it were a set of messages that looked like they were Liyah's.
I continued looking and eventually came across some stuff of Kash's also.
I furrowed my eyebrows before he eventually came back causing me to look down.
Regardless of what I wanted or not he was gonna poke into it anyways, but the question is how and why did he get my daughter's and Kash's message receipts ?
"Ight my bad, I got something for you." He told me before helping me up and I looked away
"You good ?" He asked before furrowing his eyebrows and I gave him a small smile before nodding and allowing him to take my hand to lead me upstairs into his room
He gave me a envelope and I opened it revealing all of the professional pictures that were taken in Dubai.
"Awe these are so cute." I told him
"There're yous, I already made other copies." He told me and I nodded before he wrapped his hands around my waist
He continued to caress and kiss on me, but I just wasn't feeling it anymore, my mind was everywhere.
I've been through so many setup situations, and shit like that makes me question him and I hate that. I could understand him somehow getting Liyah's messages to get closer to his nephew's killer, but there's no reason for him to have Kash's at all.
"You sure you good.. you seem out of it ?" Zay asked snapping me out of my thoughts and I looked at him
"I'm fine." I shrugged and he continued to stare
"I'm good." I repeated before reaching up to kiss his lips and he led us both over to his bed before running his fingers up my back t
He leaned in before kissing my neck and stopping at my ear
"Then let me take care you tonight?" He told me and I closed my eyes before taking a deep breath and looking at him
"Can we just be under each other tonight ? I'm actually tired." I asked and he looked at me before nodding
"Yea whatever you're comfortable with." He told me before going into his wardrobe to give me one of his shirts and I took a quick shower before meeting him in the bed.
He pulled me close to his bare chest and I continued staring off into space until he turned off the light.

The next morning..
I woke up to Zay no longer in bed, but I heard the shower running so I slightly sat up before checking my phone
Kaliyah: Hoe im outside.
Kaliyah: open the door !!
Kaliyah: I'd sell you right now, it's a new year and you already being a unreliable sister !!!
Kaliyah: nah I love you gang.
I lightly laughed before calling her and she answered on the second ring
"Girl I'm not even home." I told her
"I mean I put two and two together, im at Ari's and im in town for the week so." She told me and I cheesed
"Good, I haven't seen you in forever, im getting ready to head back to the house though, meet me there ? And while you're with them can you grab London for me ?" I asked
"Got you." She told me before getting off the phone and as soon as I got up Zay came out
"You leaving ? I was gon figure something out for us to do?" Zay told me and I cleared my throat
"Maybe next time. My sister is in town so I'm gonna try to spend title time with her." I said while avoiding eye contact and I could feel him staring me down.
"Ight just let me know w good time." He told me before kissing my cheek and I grabbed my keys before he went back into the bathroom.
I went downstairs before stopping to look at the table again and I sighed before going towards it to try and reassure myself.
Kash's messages had messages between him and Brian planning on when it where to meet at, club information, and several of call logs. He also had a paper of kash's background records. I continued looking through the envelope to then see pictures of Kash at the scene that Marcus got shot and I eventually put two and two together.
They were getting ready to set Kash up.
Zay wasn't taking his grieving out on me, it was actually guilt all of this time.
Liyah-
"I seriously need to go grab a new phone today." I told Ary
"What happened to yours ?" She asked
"I lost it a couple of days ago, but I didn't even feel like interacting with people enough to buy a new one or even try to track it, now my find my my iPhone is gone and it's definitely stolen." I sighed and Ary nodded
"Well we can run by and grab you one before we head home." She told me and I nodded
We were definitely off our ass all night, so we ended up staying at Shawn's.
She grabbed her keys but it took them from her.
"I'm driving, don't they say you shouldn't drive while pregnant ?" I asked and she looked at me stupid.
"My belly isn't to the extent dumbass, just don't hurt my car." She mugged and I mocked her behind her back before following her out.

After buying a new phone I sat and signed back into my iCloud and what not before getting out the car and going inside, eyes still glued to my phone
"Liyah." I heard and I turned around to see my ma and aunt Kaliya sitting on the couch
"Dang you didn't hear us calling you ?" Kaliya asked and I smiled before hugging her
"Sorry I've been setting up this new phone for the longest." I told her and my ma furrowed her eyebrows
"What happened to your other one ?" My ma asked
"I honestly do not know and I didn't care enough to worry about it." I shrugged and she nodded before I went downstairs into the den.
After a while of clicking past everyone's New Years posts, I eventually started coming across a few of Marcus's other peers, turning up and taking shots for him.
He definitely would've been getting on everybody's nerves right about now. Last year he tried to do fireworks and got the whole block shut down.
Interrupting my thoughts London ran down the steps.
"Can we go to the mall?" She asked
"What kid wants to go to the mall ? You don't wanna go outside to play or something ?" I asked and she crossed her arms
"That pouting won't get you no where with me sista cat." I told her before lightly pushing her head over and getting up off the couch to go upstairs.
Kay-
"Kayonna.. you haven't told kash yet ?" Kaliya asked and I sighed
"And tell him what ? You now that man is crazy and Zay would be missing by tomorrow." I said and she rubbed her head
"But you also can't just wait it out-
"I'm not, I just want to talk to him, see what's really going on before I paint a bad picture over him." I told her and she placed both of her hands on my shoulder before looking at me
"That is your fucking problem." She shook and k rolled my eyes
"You trying to see the good in everybody isn't going to get you any where Kay, there is no reason to cover the shit that he's doing." She told me and I nodded
"Ok." I nodded
"You have to tell him before something comes up and that's his ass again." She told me and I looked down before biting over my lip
"I grabbed the papers." I told her and she looked at me
"But knowing him he has copies, something just was telling me to grab them." I told her before going over to my purse and taking the papers out.
"He also had Liyah's phone." I told her and she sighed before also looking through the papers
"What if Jame's has him helping him out in order for Him to help get justice for Marcus?" I asked
"What would James need help with ?" Kaliyah asked and I bit down on my nails before looking away
"He want's Kash locked up, the money that Kash was worth was enough to pull him out the trenches last time." I answered
"So he's trading Kash in for justice for his nephew?" Kaliyah asked and I nodded
"What can you do ?" She asked
"Warn Kash to lay low, but if all goes wrong he's technically tampering with evidence and I could turn the case on him, but then he would go instead." I said and Kaliya sighed
"I'm sorry Kay, that's a tough situation." She told me before hugging me and I sighed
"That's why I think I should talk to him, I'd rather for Liyah to go up and speak then to go through all of this shit, but when she does that's it, he blew my trust for him." I said and she nodded
At the end of the day I still had to tell kash about the situation even if i handle it or not. Liyah's his daughter too and if she agrees to go up about the situation he deserves to know that.
After a minute I sighed before going up to Liyah's room and she was watching tv.
"You good ?" I asked and she nodded
"Perfectly fine." She said sarcastically and I rolled my eyes before going over to lightly push her head
"Smart ass." I told her before sitting down and she laughed
"So we're you ok with going up to tell them what exactly happened to Marcus ?" I asked and she fiddled with her fingers
"I was gonna do it anyways, I just needed some time first." She said and I nodded
"You're ok with that ?" She asked
"It should've been always up to you in the first place, you're your own person and you're grown, just whenever you're ready ok?" I told her and she nodded before sitting up
"Was you at daddy's last night ?" She asked and I looked at her like she was crazy
"Girl never, where'd you get that from ?" I asked
"I mean you wasn't here so I put two and two together." She shrugged
"If anything you could've said Zay." I laughed
"Hell yall was beefing last time I checked." She said and I laughed before shaking my head
"Girl that ship sailed a longg time ago, you can't tell that we don't get along ?" I asked
"Y'all got along just fine at the family trip-
"Aht aht, that doesn't mean that we'll get along together, it's call co-parenting." I told her and she mocked me before laughing
"Well all I gotta say is don't take forever to realize like I did, cause forever isn't promised obviously." She told me before tapping my hand and I gave her a small smile
A few hours later-
Ary-
"Ary !" I heard causing me to wake up and see Liyah
"I'm sleepy leave me alone." I mumbled
"You've been asleep for hours." Liyah told me
"Didn't nobody bothered you when you locked yourself in for two days." I mumbled
"Who knew being pregnant would turn you into a big bitc-
Interrupting her we heard a noise
"See did you hear that ?" She asked and I sighed before turning over
"It's probably a horse or some shit I don't know leave me alone." I mumbled before we heard it again
"Ary !"
I sighed before getting up and reaching for my
Phone. It was only 3:00 in the afternoon and I sighed before stretching and slightly walking in the hall.
It sounded like someone rumbling through something, so me and Liyah quietly walked down the stairs before stopping at my ma's office
Liyah grabbed the bat from behind the back door before slowly pushing the door open and someone with their back turned was going through the desk.
He quickly turned around and Liyah immediately raised the bat and I realized it was Zay with his eyes wide before he caught it mid swing.
"What you doing here?" Liyah asked and he looked at her like she was crazy
"I'm grabbing a couple of papers for Kay, my bad she said y'all would be napping and to just help myself in." He lightly laughed and we sighed in relief
"You can't do that we thought you were someone else." Liyah told him
"Who ?" He asked and I shook my head
"Where is ma ?" I asked
"She ran up to the office to work on something ." He told us
After a while of talking he left and we locked the door behind him.
"Should we call her and make sure she told him to come, that sounds kind of suspect?" I asked and Liyah raised her eyebrows Before her phone rang
"Janiyah asked if we wanted to go see jr's big match tonight, it's a hour away?" Liyah asked and I shrugged
Good to say that jr was really making a career out of this shit, he travels every other weekend so we usually don't make it to his matches. The ones that we do make it too are always good ass matches though.
"You're starting to show." Liyah cooed before running her hand over my small bump and I tilted my head at her
"I'm more worried about me getting sudden back pains." I sighed before stretching and she lightly laughed
"Never having kids."
"Like ever." She added and I flipped her off before running my hand over my small bump
"Imagine if Shawn was a twin, and i has a baby by his brother, then they would look identical you know ?" She asked and I rolled my eyes before laughing.

"Ouuu let's have a sisters day, we can pick London up from daycare and go to the mall, she asked to go this morning but I was tired and told her no, plus I need a outfit for tonight." She suggested
"Don't be telling my baby no." I told her
"She spoiled as hell, what toddler asks someone to take them to the mall instead did a park or something like what ?" She asked and I laughed before grabbing my keys.

"Lon you have the most bags out of everyone and still got the audacity to speed walk ?" I asked
"Like we're not holding all of the bags." Liyah added and she laughed before slowing down
"Can we get ice cream ?" She asked
"No!" Liyah told her
"Later Lon." I corrected and she smiled revealing her missing front teeth
after shopping around we ended up eventually running into Amari.
"Uh oh, what we shopping for ?" He asked before looking in the bags
"Apparently for London." Liyah told him and he laughed before high fiving her
"I know that's right girl they on your time, treat them little boys at recess the same way." He told her and I rolled my eyes
"What you doing tonight Amari ?" I asked
"Sneaky linking." He smirked and I rolled my eyes
"Could you reschedule and come to Jr's boxing match with us ?" Liyah asked
"Hmm, and meet more fine men ? I'm down." He told us and I shook my head
"You are something else, I'll text you just be ready before six." I told him and he nodded before we conversated a little longer

After the mall we stopped at Shawn's to pass time by.
"If yo back hurt why won't you let me massage it ?" Shawn asked
"Not down here, your dad is upstairs." I said and he smacked his teeth
"This is basically yo second home and you still scared of my paps ?" He chuckled
"I'm not scared, it's just mad disrespectful to be layed up in somebody else's home-
"It's not layed up, it's called being comfortable, so lay down." He told me before assisting me and begs began massaging.
Shawn used to always talk about how his mother made the three basic rules stick for him.
1. Never hit a woman by any means
2. Never sit and watch a woman hurt.
3. If you can't provide for a woman don't strive under a woman.
He definitely stood by them. He always respected me, never put his hands on me, always made sure I was comfortable even if that meant he had to be uncomfortable, and always kept his head on straight in the process. At times I really look back and realize that I really lucked out with this one.
I can't imagine how life after marriage is gonna be, living together, raising a mini together, cleaning days, laundry days, off days, it all seemed like it was coming so fast.
"Can I have these little bites ?" Liyah poked in
"Damn ain't that yo fourth pack ?" He laughed
"It's only four muffins in the pack... but yes this will be my fourth." She said and I lightly laughed
"You might as well take the whole box." He told her sarcastically
"Bet." She told him before grabbing the box and sitting on the floor next to London who was glued to her iPad.
"You don't got nothing you wanna tell us ?" Shawn asked and she laughed
"Tuhhh."

Kay-
Just as I was getting ready to knock Zay's door it opened revealing Amoura.
"Hey Kay." She told me while in a rush
"Hey, is Zay here ?" I asked
"No he said he had to do something but he should be on his way out. I have to go pick Lexi up from Daycare so I have to go, but feel free to wait inside." She told me before holding the door open and quickly hurrying off.
I cleared my door before shutting and locking rn door behind me before taking a deep breath
"Alright Kay." I sighed before going towards the kitchen in search of any papers but there were none there.
I went back upstairs into his bed room and started searching through drawers only to find unnecessary ass shit.
I slightly slipped on something in the process of walking away and I noticed a folder slightly out from under the bed.
I bent down before continuing to pull out a bin full of organized folders with papers
I immediately furrowed my eyebrows before calling Kaliya and she answered
"Bruh." I told her
"What's wrong ?"
"I'm at Zay's right now and you're not gonna believe what the fuck I just found." I told her
Liyah-
After a while of watching other fights Jr finally made his entrance into the ring and ewe all started cheering.
This shit was interesting as hell. The crowd, the other fighters, it was all so turnt. We had the closest seats in front of the big ass crowd and we could see everything in the rink perfectly.
After a while they finally got started and the fight started off smooth. He was fighting a bit of a more buff man, and he looked like he was real at this shit.
"Who is he ?" I asked and Janiyah pulled him up from google
"David Wrantcher, he's pro and his record is the same as Jr's." She informed and I raised my eyebrows
"But he got it right ?" She asked also unsure and I looked back at the stage
"He'll do fine." I waved off
After Jr did a miss swing, David took the advantage and did a quick two piece throwing Jr slightly off balance and I looked at Ary unsure.
Jr swing again this time hitting a two piece before two uppercuts and David got knocked off of valence before falling into the rope and bouncing back out attempting to swing but he missed. Jr took another punch straight at the center of his face twice causing his head to dip back revealing blood.
"This gon be a show alright." Amari said before raising his eyebrows before we started cheering again
After a successful round the second one wasn't going in Jr's favor. He was taking so many hard hits that he was starting to look dizzy.
"Arms up!" Janiyah supported but as soon as he went to put them up to guard his face David threw a hard hit and another... and another... and another, and lastly another towards the rib causing us all to stand up once he slowly hit the ground
We all ran towards the rink before the crowd got louder crowding over my ears and Jr was knocked out
David crowded Jr as if we wasn't going to stop and Janiyah immediately started arguing with the ref who wasn't helping jumping on the rink and we all jumped up after her before running towards Jr and braking down to him.
His coach also ran over eventually with trainers before Jr eventually woke back up but his face looked horrible.
They helped him to the back causing the crowd to grow towards David who was putting on a show, but we followed Jr.

"I'm good." He told Janiyah before standing up and she lightly pushed him down
"No you're not, he obviously isn't fighting for a belt, that shit seemed personal ." I told him before continuing to hold the ice pack at his eye and he sighed
"This is boxing, I'm not out yet and I'm not Forfeiting." He told us and we looked at each other
"I got shit to do and I need the belt to do it." He added and I sighed before he got up wincing in pain
"You promised that you would be able to take shit like this if you traveled with me, this isn't gon be the worst thing to happen to me." He told Janiyah and she sighed before helping him
"Just be careful." She told him before continuing to help him out

They both were going neck and neck but neither would hit the ground regardless of them barely being able to stand.
We continued cheering and screaming until eventually Jr took a hard swing and David slowly fell to the ground causing the crowd to get loud.
I looked off to the corner to see a figure standing there and we made eye contact before I tilted my head and raised my eyebrows.
I talked Ary quickly before pointing towards the back entry and Ary looked at me like I was crazy
"Ary, Jamel is here." I said in shock before she looked and he was gone
"Liyah why would he be here ? No one is over there." She told me before looking back at the match and the Ref began counting down for David to get up.
"Ary I'm serious." I told her but she payed me no mind.
I shook my head before getting up and she furrowed her eyebrows
"I'm not getting ready to play this shit anymore." I said before grabbing my purse and Amari furrowed his eyebrows before Ary got up and followed me
"Liyah what the fuck ?" She asked before following around back and I pulled out my phone.
"Aaliyah." Ary called still following
"Im not tripping Ary, he's here, I saw him." I told her before I heard something slam causing us both to stop.
We both turned around towards the door we came in but it was locked and I looked at Ary before she looked down looking worried and tried to force the door open but it didn't budge
"Aye stop playing !" She called out before banging the door
"Tell yo sister the same thing." We heard and I turned around to see Jamel and anger instantly washed over my body.
"I'm not doing this shit with you." I told him before approaching and he grabbed my arm before pushing me against the wall causing my phone to fall out of my hand.
I looked down to see that my daddy had answered before Jamel roughly turned my head to look at him.
"What's it gon take for you to realize that you not going no fucking where Aaliyah ?" He asked And I attempted to move out his grip but he only gripped harder causing me to spit in his face
"I fucking hate you." I told him before he looked at me with shock
I had no fear towards this man, I had nothing but anger towards him for everything that he's fucked up for me.
"Grab the sister." He told them and my eyes went wide once they roughly grabbed Ary's arm and then all of the sudden fear washed over my body
"Ima ask this again, what's it gon take for you to realize that you not going no fucking where ?" He asked again and I looked at Ary and back at him before closing my eyes and sighing
"I will continue to hurt everyone that you love until you get This shit through to fucking head." He told me
"Ight." I told him before nodding
"I'm yours, but let her go." I added
"Aaliyah." She sighed
"I'll cooperate if you let her go back out and you can take me, you win." I told him before looking at him and he looked at me as if he didn't believe me and tears filled in Ary's eyes before they her and opened the door back up.
Jamel immediately grabbed my arm before getting ready to pull me back out the door, but the doors opened right back up and Jr immediately took a swing at Jamel causing him to hit the wall and his grasp loosened
Jamel reached for his gun but Jr knocked it out his hand causing it to slide and I went to pick it up before immediately aiming it at his homeboys that was getting ready to grab Jr up.
He continued beating the fuck out of him until eventually somebody else who looked like he was with Jr earlier ran back with his eyes wide
"You got fans getting ready to run back here Keshawn, let him go before yo ass catch a charge." He told him before attempting to pull Jr off and Janiyah ran back before helping him and Jamel got up before looking at me and back at him
He Left out along with his homeboys and I looked at Jr who's knuckles were red and bloody
"Help her through that crowd and back home, I already told everybody else to go." Jr told the dude and he nodded
"What about you ? He'll come back especially if you by yourself." I told him
"I got security with me don't worry about me." He told me before handing me back my phone.
We walked out the crowded doors to fans and flashes immediately before he he wrapped his arm around me to help guide and push through the crowd with his free arm.
"You're Keshawn's sister, how does he feel about winning one of his biggest fights yet ?"
"Why did he rush off stage ? Did something happen ?"
"Was Keshawn also affiliated with Demarcus Wright ?"
I immediately looked up before pausing and another flash blinded my eyes before he pulled me out and through the crowd out back towards his car.
Once we made it in we both panted before I looked at my phone to see several of missed calls from my dad so I called back
"Where you at ??" He asked
"I'm good." I sighed
"Jr told me you was straight, but I need you to go to Ari's until I hunt this nigga down." He said
"Daddy." I sighed
"Go straight to Ari's, I know the dude you with, you in good hands just listen." He told me
"Just Be safe, I love you." I told him
"I love you too."
Afrer he said what he said about hurting my loved ones, I honestly didn't want my daddy going after him, but I knew it wasn't anything that I could say or do about it
"I'm sorry I'm Daivon, I manage Jr." he introduced and I looked over at him
"And How do you know my daddy ?" I asked
"We met back when Keshawn first started boxing a couple of years back. I kept him company I couple of times to make sure he was up to date with Jr and we looked out for each other every since." He explained while driving
"Shit there was a gun that I was holding, I dropped it with my fingerprints-
"I got it, don't worry like he said you're in good hands, I won't let shit go down." He reassured and I sighed before resting my head against the window
"Where did everyone else go ?" I asked
"Jr made them them leave. Janiyah had heard something was going on right after the fight and jumped up while Jr was celebrating his win with the crowd. Height on that something was wrong and went down to talk to Niyah and she told him y'all disappeared so that's why he made it back there in time." He explained
"I made sure they got back to the car safe with Ary before going back and making sure that nigga also didn't end his career." He added and I sighed
"I don't know what's going on, but I know it's getting ready to be a lot of unwanted attention on him." He said before I zoned out
