VI: Epilogue
It was my job, of course, to retrieve Banner's Kits from his corpse. I reached with my gloved hands, and grabbed both the shoe stickers I was told were manifest of Terra Firma and the diamond for Royalty. I noticed something when I was holding the diamond; it was completely devoid of power. I have never seen a Kit lose its power when its user dies, and I do not think that Banner is an exception.
If you remember nothing else from this story (which will be the case for very few of you, as they teach this conflict in every secondary school), remember that Royalty had no power, and there was no supernatural force compelling Banner's subordinates to act the way they did.
