kit's point of view:
her lying there. her long strands of hair has formed knots, thin strands covered her face, falling delicately on her bruised face.
she had a black eye and a busted lip, cuts and grazes had been engraved onto her skin.
her chest would slowly rise, then fall. then repeat. and repeat, endlessly. it was a cycle, people die for me.
like shelley; she pushed me out of the way, and finn killed her. lauren loved me, tried to protect me from being thrown into an electric chair for murder, and she's slowly dying.
she was shot in the stomach, and they had to surgically remove the bullet which shattered into several pieces. she developed a serious case of concussion, and i couldn't help but believe this was all my fault. im the reason she's here.
the nurses administered an paralytic agent, to stop her from moving and causing any more pain. but, it isn't a sedative. she's still in pain. pain that i can't heal.
i saw a future with her, my dreams consisted of being with her. i love her. briarcliff was an obstacle, thredson, was an obstacle, but we were so strong, strong enough to overcome all of this. because we were innocent.
the door opened slowly, and there stood the monsignor, two brown folders in his hands, and a pen tucked into the cover.
"can i help you?" i spat out at the monsignor. i felt disgusted by him, his order of briarcliff is the reason both me and lauren were shot by thredson, and why lana was still there, even when she was the most sane out of all of us.
"ive got good news mr walker. for both you, and lauren. please, just hear me out." he said, taking a seat next to me sending shivers down my spine.
"you don't even have to look at me. just listen. thredson was found guilty of attempted murder on 2 accounts, and the bloody face killings. you two, are both hereby released from briarcliff asylum, and both of your records are swiped clean of you even being admitted here. also, in compensation, you and miss russo will receive $2000 dollars from the government."
"$2000. is that what our pain and misery was worth to you? the experiments arden did on us. money will not make the situation better. news will get out about briarcliff and when it does, you will be the first person to be handed the blame. no one else. so good luck monsignor. you're going to need it." i said, snatching the files from his hands.
"lana will also be released by the end of today and escorted here. otherwise, i will contact the media about the mistreatment me and lauren both experience while in your care and you will be imprisoned." i said, still not making eye contact with the monsignor who just nodded and walked away, leaving me alone with lauren again.
i leant over laurens body and took her hand in mine, and i felt tears streaming down my cheeks.
they weren't tears of sorrow like they had once been; they were tears of joy, happiness. me and lauren were about to get the freedom we finally deserved.
