Fall from Grace

When I was little, 

My older sister was the strongest person I knew,

Not person,

Nor thing,

Could stop her,

She could take on the world and win,

Her skin was iron,

Her heart was true,

She was the only one I ever let nickname me,

She called me "Angel Face,"

And she was the only one allowed to,

If others tried,

I'd scream and kick and fight,

"That isn't me!

Say my name!

Don't call me that"

Have you heard the phrase,

"Never meet your hero?"

It is supposed to signal,

That all people have weakness,

And make mistakes,

And do harm, 

So never meet someone you idolize,

Never learn more about them.

But when your idol is your sister,

It's hard not to. 

And when I learned of my sisters

Burdens,

It broke me,

I am no longer Angel Face,

Not to anyone,

That girl is long since dead.
