_________________________

The morning was a peaceful and serene one as it was just 6 AM. It was drizzling slightly and fast winds were blowing in the city.

Currently Maysa and Asfandyar were doing the last minute preparations and getting ready for their flight which was in a couple of hours.

"Maysa, ye pehen lo." She heard him say.

Maysa turned her face towards him with a small frown and that frown turned into an angry frown seeing the coat he had in his hands.

"Asfi ab kya hai?" She groaned raising her hands.

"Mujhe kuch nahi hai. Bas tumhe thand lag jayegi isliye ye pehen lo. Dekha hai bahar kaisi mausam hai?" He spoke in a tone as if he was speaking to a child.

"Par pehna tou hua hai maine coat. Coat ke upar ek aur coat kaun pehenta hai?" Maysa whined with a huff.

Today she was wearing light beige colored loose pants, a light brown sweater and a beige coat on top of it because of the cold weather.

And now Asfandyar had another coat in his hands wanting his wife to wear it because he believed she needs to be protected as much as possible.

He knows she gets affected by cold easily. He had observed that within her stay of 2 months here.

"Waise bhi me pehle hi itni moti lag rahi ho ek penguin jaisi aur aap mujhe aur cheeze pehnana chahte hai." She pouted.

"Sweetheart, you are barely half as me. Kaha se moti lag rahi ho? And I find my wife cuter this way. In fact, curvy women look better to me." He shrugged.

(Hi five to all my curvy and chubby readers! You people are beautiful inside out <3 & the skinny ones too & of course the others)

What he said was true. He loved Maysa's chubby cheeks and how insane she was about food.
Keep one good dish in front of her and her anger will fade away.
The best part was how natural everything was with Maysa.

He behaved just like the person he was and she was all real when she was with him.
They shared moments, things and they had started to accept each othet as their better half.

He felt proud of his wife how good she handled him.
Mainly Maysa Asfandyar Shah had wrapped Asfandyar around her little finger who danced at her beats.
He was smitten.

Only he knows how many times he curses himself for even thinking he wasn't the one for her and they won't look good together.
He realized they were meant to be together. They looked perfect with each other.

He pulled her closer to him by her waist, buttoned her coat that made her look so stiff no less than a pillar and pressed a soft peck against her pouted lips.

"Nahi pehna raha, relax. Tum naraaz mat ho bas." He spoke and this had made Maysa grin widely as she stood on her tip toes hugging him.

"Chalein? Late ho raha hai." He spoke softly in between their hug.

He just felt her nodding her head in his neck.
How could he ever forget how big of a baby she was when it was the matter of him.
But he himself loved that.

"Asfi, idhar aayein jaldi." Maysa shouted all excitedly.

Asfandyar smiled at his wife who appeared so happy at the place they arrived.
She seemed to love it.

He had a talk with Maysa and they had come up with Paris as their destination.
Their hotel was there only and he had made sure to make their trip as comfortable as possible.

Asfandyar followed his wife's lead.
The first place she came to after entering their hotel room was the balcony.

He hugged her from behind, putting his arms around her in a protective manner and dipped his head from the side looking at the same direction she was.
The view and the placed looked just beautiful.

"Hum Eiffel Tower dekhne kab jayenge?" She asked as her eyes twinkled.

"Dikh tou raha hai yaha se. Jaane ki kya zarurat?" Asfandyar smiked.

Maysa instantly pouted and looked at Asfandyar with a sad face.
He could bear anything but that.

"Aap Paris lekar aaye mujhe aur bina Eiffel Tower dikhakar waapis lekar jayenge?" Her eyes weren't twinkling as they did before she asked him.

"Mazaak kar raha hu sweetheart. Relax. Tumhe kal sabse pehle waha hi lekar chalunga." He assured her.

A grin again formed on Maysa's face at his words and she went back on seeing the view from this place.

Asfandyar only looked at her. For him, he could only see her between such amazing view as well.
His focus was on the woman in his arms, not the Eiffel Tower, not the streets, not the view.

He couldn't believe he was the same man who was denying to marry her.
How would his life had been without her?

It was boring, plain and nothing exciting.
But as Maysa entered and became his wife, he had a reason to smile. He had a reason to love someone. He had someone to take care of and rely on the same time.

He knew him thinking that no other woman would go well along with him was right.
The way Maysa and his relationship was or the bond between them, he couldn't think of the same with someone else than her.
He was disgusted at the thought of someone else being near him, being his wife because it was only Maysa who deserved to be there.

"Asfi..." He heard her soft voice say.

They were sitting in the balcony as it was the evening with sun setting down.
They had already freshed and now were busy spending some quality time with each other before they left for a party they were invited by the hotel staff that was taking place today.

As usual, Asfandyar wanted Maysa to sit on his lap rather than another chair kept here.
She would blush as usual but deep down she craved for that closeness herself.
It made her feel connected to Asfandyar more than anything else.

"Yes sweetheart." He said in his raspy voice.

"Umm...can I ask you something?" She hesitantly asked.
"You don't need to take permission for that sweetheart. Jo bolna hai bolo." He said caressing her arm at the same time.

"Vo...me hamesha ek baat sochti hu. Why didn't you marry anyone till it came to me. I mean Aliyaar Bhai and Ruhbal Aapi ki shaadi bhi ho gayi even though aap unse bade hai. Hamesha tou sabse bade bhai ki shaadi pehle hoti hai na." She asked with an innocent expression.

Asfandyar couldn't help but to smile a little at his wife's question.
Honestly he was waiting when she would ask him this.

"Well marriage was never my priority. Bohot logo ke liye it's like an essential thing jo unko lagta hai ki ek point ke baad karni padegi but maine pehle se hi soch ke rakha tha ki I won't marry till I am 100% sure about the girl. Shaadi aisi cheez nahi hai jise ek chance lekar dekh le. Agar kar li tou fir zindagi bhar nibhana padega. Aur waise bhi I never liked a girl this way. Like kya, kisi ko uss nazron se dekha bhi nahi. Aur aise karte karte itne saal beet gaye. Ammi abbu ne bhi bolna chhod diya jab unhe dikh gaya ki me kitna disinterested hu. Unhone poore 2 saal baad meri shaadi ki baat uthayi aur vo thi tumse. Now see where we are."

"Maine kabhi nahi socha tha ki me kisi din shaadi karunga. Aur vo bhi tumse. Par ab lagta hai ki ye meri zindagi ka sabse best part hai. Tum meri zindagi ki sabse best part ho because no one is more important for me than you. Pata nahi kaise hua kab hua par I am glad ki tum meri biwi ho. Sirf meri." Asfandyar ended with a satisfied smile.

Maysa's eyes had fresh tears in them.
She could never thought that Asfandyar would be this good with words.
She never saw him speaking more than two sentences at the same time and now she felt so emotional hearing his words.

"A...Aap bohot acche hai. I don't know what I did to deserve you." She sniffled looking at him adorably.

"Just because you show what you actually are, you truly deserve me sweetheart. We deserve each other because we are made for each other." He said rubbing her cheek with his thumb and wiping the tears out of her eyes from other.

She smiled between her tears and placed her head on his chest, her arms around his neck and closing her eyes because this was the only place and position that brings her the peace and tranquility.

And like always Asfandyar kept caressing the woman in his arms.

The music blasted through the speakers as Maysa and Asfandyar walked to the party in one of the gardens of hotel.
The place was decorated beautifully for the night.

Maysa was wearing a flowy floor length outfit, red and green in color with a flowery print all over it.
She had left her waist length hair open naturally that provided a softness to her look.

"Maysa, do you want something to drink?" He questioned as the two stood near a corner.

"Jee. Mai bhi chalti hu aapke saath." She smiled.

"Nahi, you were already complaining back in the hotel room how much your feet were hurting. Tum yahi ruko, me lekar aata hu." He spoke in a caring manner.

"Okay." Maysa mumbled barely controlling her blush at his protectiveness.

Asfandyar left ordering Maysa to stay in the same spot because it would be hard to find her in this big garden full of people.
Maysa listened knowing it made sense.

She was looking at the scenes at the party smiling at the couples. Most of them looked as if they were at their honeymoon seeing their closeness.
Or it could be that they were really bold.

"Maysa!" She heard a familiar voice yell.

With a frown she turned to the direction and her eyes turned wide as she noticed a man waving at her excitedly.

Without thinking she ran towards him excitedly and soon the two were crashed in a hug.
The man had his arms wrapped around Maysa protectively and Maysa had her face buried in his chest.

"Kaisi hai tu? Kaha chali gayi thi? Pata hai kitne chakkar lagaye maine tere ghar par sirf ye sunne ko milta tha ki tu ab yaha nahi rehti." That man complained.

Maysa's mind went back to the bitter memories of her father dying.
But she controlled herself.

"Tujhe Abbu ke baare me tou pata hi hoga." She mumbled.

That man, Farris gave her a sad look and nodded his head and then Maysa continued "Uske baad Ruhbal Aapi ne bilkul mana kar diya mujhe udhar akele rehne se. Baba aur Ammi...matlab Aliyaar Bhai ke Ammi Abbu ne bhi keh diya tha ki mai abse unke saath rahungi. Aur me kabhi unka shukriya ada nahi kar paungi jo bhi unhone mere liye kiya warna me tou bilkul akeli pad jati." Maysa explained.

"Akeli kaise? Mai hu na hamesha tere liye." Farris smiled affectionately.

"Par tu uss time Canada me tha aur waise bhi kaise pareshaan karti me tujhe apne maslo ki wajah se?" Maysa replied back with a pout.

"Tere masle maane mere masle." Farris spoke as if he was offended.

"Tou ab tu Ruhbal Aapi ki family ke saath rehti hai? I mean ek point ke baad ajeeb nahi ho jayega tere liye." Farris looked genuinely worried for her when he asked this.

Farris Qureshi and Maysa Ali were friends back from childhood because they lived in the same colony.
They played together the whole time in the childhood and basically became two pead in a pod.

It was until Farris left for Canada for further studies but their friendship continued on the phone calls, video calls, and spending time when he would return for vacations.

Maysa saw him as a bestfriend and a brother who teased you but cared at the same time.
Farris saw Maysa as his bestfriend and a sister who he loved to annoy but didn't hesitate to show his protective side when needed.

"Ajeeb kaise? Ab tou mujhe permanently..." Maysa couldn't complete when Farris cut her off.

"Maysa ab me hamesha ke liye waapis aa gaya hu. Tu ab apne ghar waapis aa sakti hai. Mai Ruhbal Aapi se baat kar lunga aur tera poora khayal bhi rakhunga. Tujhe chinta karne ki zarurat nahi hai aur na hi aisi jagah rehne ki jaha tu comfortable bhi na ho." Farris explained.
He was genuinely concerned for her comfort as he didn't knew what exactly was the reason why Maysa lived with the Shah's.

"Arey sun tou...." Maysa was again cut off as a new face appeared this time.

"Are you Maysa?" It was a woman who stood beside Farris with an excited look.
She was beautiful.

"Yes?" Maysa was confused as she didn't know her or had never seen her.

"Hi! I am Zoya. Farris has told me so much about you." She exclaimed and engulfed Maysa in a hug.

Maysa hugged her back even though she was a bit confused.
She looked at Farris who was scratching the back of his head.

"Meet Zoya. My girlfriend." He finally spoke with red ears.

Maysa's eyes went wide and a grin formed on her face as she looked back and forth between them.
Did this monkey seriously made a girlfriend finally?

"Girlfriend? Zoya, mujhe tou bas ye janna hai tumhe ye aadmi pasand bhi kaise aa gaya?" Maysa laughed with Zoya giving a teasing smile to Farris.
Farris scowled at his bestfriend and this made Zoya laugh even more.

"The weird ones always take the cute ones." Zoya winked and Maysa laughed throwing her head back.

Farris just complained how the two teamed up this soon against him.

"Tum dono trip par aaye ho idhar?" Maysa asked looking at them.
"Ha. Abhi hamari families ko pata nahi hai ki hum ek dusre ko pasand karte hai so meri family ke liye me ek photography tour par aaya hu aur Zoya ki family ke liye vo ek fashion show ke liye aayi hai." Farris shurgged.

"Tu kabse Aunty uncle se kuch chupane lag gaya? Jald hi bata de kyuki I know vo tujhe har cheez me support karte hai. Aur fir bina kisi fikr ke saath ghumna." Maysa suggested.

"Wahi karne ka plan hai jaise hi waapis lautenge." Farris softly smiled at Zoya who smiled back nodding her head.

The two bestfriends went on chatting.
Farris was sitting in between with two women on his either side.

He had teased her about something that made Maysa pout and how she said she won't talk to him if this continues.
Farris as usual hugged her tightly like a teddy bear and kissed her forehead like he always did before.
Zoya didn't mind because he knew about their relationship. She trusted Farris.

But Asfandyar wasn't the same.
His eyes bulged out as he saw Maysa near an unknown man who even dared to hug and kiss her.
It was only his right.

He stormed over them and in an instant pulled Maysa up.
Maysa was frightened and confused seeing Asfandyar's murderous glare.

"What do you think you're doing to my wife?" He roared at Farris who was shocked and gulped in fear seeing the man tower him like this.

"W...Wife?" He gulped.
"Yes wife. How dare you even come closer to her?" He shouted.

He wasn't an orthodox man but he also couldn't bear someone else touching Maysa this affectionately.

"Asfi..." Maysa whispered trying to stop him.

"Maysa don't." He stopped her in a firm voice.

"Nahi aap pehle sunein meri isse pehle koi galat kadam utha lein." She shook her head and instantly hugged Asfandyar's waist tightly.

Asfandyar unclenched his fist, sighing at the small woman who was hugging him so tightly.

"Listen man..." Farris tried to speak but Asfandyar cut him off.

"I only listen to my wife and you're not her. So Don't you dare speak to me." He warned or more like gritted out.

"A...Asfi, ye Farris hai. Mera dost bilkul ek bhai jaisa. Hum bohot dino ke baad mile so we were just catching up. I swear mai kuch galat nahi kar rahi thi. I can never..." Maysa's small cries ate her own words and Asfandyar sighed cursing himself why did he have to react this way.

"Maysa..."
"Sacchi mein I-I..."

"Relax. Just breathe. Mai kuch nahi keh raha tumhe. You just relax. Kuch nahi hua hai." He rubbed her back trying to calm her down.

Maysa listened to him and just kept on hugging him tightly, not bothering to look anywhere else.

"Look, Mr. Farris I don't know who you are. But just because Maysa is saying ki vo tumhe jaanti hai, mai chhod raha hu tumhe. And mujhe nahi lagta this is a place to catch up with your friend. Me and my wife are on our honeymoon and we want our privacy. Hope you will respect that. Now we will just take both of yours leave." He said as respectfully and politely as possible in his deep throaty voice.

Farris just nodded and took Zoya's hand in his walking away, thinking he will talk to Maysa some other time.
This actually wasn't the place for it.

"Asfi..." Maysa mumbled after sometime.

"Shh." For the first time he shut her off.

Wrapping an arm around her, he walked out of the party taking her with him, his jaw clenched as he opened the door of their hotel room, lead them in and closed it back locking it.

The two of them stood in between the room, only the moonlight shining on their faces.

"You know sweetheart, I can bear everything. Everything except a man getting close to you who isn't me. You know why?" His deep husky voice was heard except Maysa's small sniffles.

Seeing her not respond and just looking at the ground, he lifted her face by the chin and spoke.

"Because you're mine. Only mine. Mine to touch, mine to kiss, mine to hug. And today I am going to show how I claim what's mine."
His deep husky voice and words had made her breath hitch.

Today was no escape.

Hey friends! How was the chapter? I am so excited for the next chapter. There will finally be some action!!

Also, I wanted to know if you people are even liking the story or not?
