CHAPTER 40: Their partners.
Third Person's POV.
Kenji was insisting Y/n to just go to the bathroom and at least rinse off her bleeding wound,
"I said I don't want to, okay? I feel great there's nothing wrong with m-" Before she could finish Kenji already bombarded her with reasons,
"but you've been bleeding out?! You're getting paler and paler-"
"I don't wanna ask those guards and- and! It's pass curfew!"
"you need it, you're gonna need it because it's going to be cleaned it'll just be quick JUST CLEAN IT!"
"HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU- I don't need it right now I can do it later!" Y/n kept talking while Kenji covered her mouth looking for the guards,
"OKAY YOU CAN DO IT LATER!" he shouted back running his fingers through his hair,
Y/n was about to sit down until Kenji carried her like a sack on his shoulder while she slaps his back, "I'm sorry you need this!"
"put me down!"
"RYU!" she suddenly remembered that Kenji didn't wanted his name to be exposed so she quickly slapped her mouth with wide eyes.
"hello sir can she go to the bathro-"
"it's pass curfew."

Kenji's POV.
"attention, all players. Please make your way to the center of the room. Once again. Attention, all players. Please make your way to the center of the room."
God, not this shit show again.
I kept my eyes close for a few seconds more, until I felt eyes staring at me.
And to my surprise, it was cool girl.
Player 067, the pretty one.
Is this chick mad at me? Her eyes looked like it could kill-
kill me to be exact, she scoffed and stood up finally removing her eyes off me.
I looked at Y/n and realised,
Ooohhh, someone's jealous.
I stood up and went out as guards went to the old man who's still not standing up,
Old man's not in the mood today I guess.
Wonder if I'll be like him if I ever turn his age, I mean look at him, he looks devastated, stressed but all wrinkly.
Like a walnut.
Y/n who was about to join our team's line suddenly went back in, helping the old man stand up by putting down the guard's gun.
This girl has some guts, impressive.
Player 067 was waiting for her but Y/n just walked right pass her, dang Y/n. I mean I have no idea what they fought about but 067 looks pretty affected by it, I can't tell the same with Y/n though.
"That's it, careful."
We were told to go back to that staircase we've been walking on for the past I don't know days, how long have we even been here?
It was all normal until we suddenly found the player that's been missing and other guards,
Holy fuck. Why are they hanged?!
"players, what you witness before you is what remains of those who broke the rules for their own benefit."
Oooohhh, someone just got fucked for breaking the rules. If you look at it, it is kinda their fault. The rules were simple and the one thing they had to do was follow it, but they decided to fuck around by cheating and got-

I noticed Y/n having a hard time to breathe while she was looking at the bodies,
Can't blame her, this looks really freaky. It's like something you'd see in a horror film or a Halloween shop.
"without being disadvantaged or facing any kind of discrimination. We truly apologize for allowing such an unacceptable incident to occur."

Y/n looked like she's not thinking straight at the moment,

I pretended to trip her, but failed.
she quickly stepped over my foot and kicked me from the back using the heel of her foot,
"not today, jackass."
Fuck that hurt! Does she have a rock for a foot?!
"gosh dang it, Y/n. That hurt!"
"players, welcome to the fourth game."
I stood next to Y/n and Ji-Yeong, they didn't noticed my presence as they were busy talking about her wound that she still hasn't cleaned,
God this girl, stubborn as hell. She's making me crazy,
Why can't she just wash that wound?!
"for this game, you will be playing in teams of two."
They both looked at each other, as I was preparing to snatch Y/n from Ji-Yeong.
Part of me was just doing it for a laugh and spend time with Y/n, to you know- watch over her wound. DUH!
but the other half is like...
It was like it was telling me something.
"please look around and find someone you wish to play with, when two people agree to play together, shake hands to show you have become partners."
"wha- Kenji! Let go!" I quickly pulled her away from the others as she continued to shout at me.
"there can only be two players per team. You will have ten minutes to find your partner."
"found mine!" I shouted again with a proud smile plastered on my face, giving her a noogie.
"Kenji! That hurts!"
Oh shit.
"asshole." she glared at me as I let go of her, rubbing her head.
Hehe.
"just pretend this is your way of thanking me," I told her but she just started throwing a bunch of profanities at me.
Until she suddenly looked at the girl who was also looking at her, their eyes met for a second then avoided each other.
"hey, do you think player 067 fancies me too?"
It was like I threw an atomic bomb at her as she started cursing me again, "you're a fucking idiot."
"you think you're smarter than I am?! Hey, what comes after 7?" I asked her,
"8! What am I? A pre-scho-" before she could finished I gave her another smirk,
"idiot! 11! It's 11! 7-11, you're dumber than I am."
We suddenly heard an argument forming from our team earlier, "you don't want a girl to team up with or an old guy."
Y/n looked really concerned for 067, I'm having a feeling it isn't just because they're best friends?
It's possible there could be something else,
"are they fucking serious right now?" I heard Y/ whispered,
I mean if you do look at it, they're being huge dickheads right now for not wanting to team up with the other ladies. That's just wrong thinking women aren't capable of what men can do, I mean look at Y/n for example.
She's the only one with a wound in our team but she's still standing strong,
067 is affected by her and Y/n's fight yet she still looks fierce as ever.
Ji-Yeong literally looks like a child but she outsmarts most of the people here, even fought with a man 3× her size.
I know this because my mom was exactly like them, she's the strongest woman I know.
women are insanely strong if you ask me.
Player 067 stood up, Y/n's eyes following her.
"why? You want a girl?"
"Sae..." I guess she really wants to approach her, but how? They're not in good terms at the moment but it's obvious they just care about each other.
"she'll be okay." I patted her head as she gave me a sad smile,
This is the first time I saw her smile sadly, I was literally wrapping up a cut from her last night yet I didn't even get a glimpse of sadness in her eyes from her wound.
Ji-Yeong stood up next following 067.
"Ji-"
Ji-Yeong smiled sadly at Y/n, "goodluck, Y/n." she signalled,
We nodded at each other as she walked passed me.
Good luck, Ji-Yeong!
I didn't realise I was clinging onto Y/n this entire time, "hey-"
"I never formally agreed to be your teammate!"
Oh, do we have to?
"huh? Oh, right." I grabbed her hand and aggressively shook it,
her face looks so unimpressed, HAHAHA!
"I, Kenji, accepts Y/n's offer to be her partner in the game-" I couldn't continue as I felt her slap my shoulder,
God! That hurt :(
"dumbass, I meant me, agreeing to your offer!"
I acted to be more hurt but it didn't work, again.
"YOU LITERALLY DRAGGED ME HERE!" Y/n exclaimed,
I rolled my eyes at her and took a deep breath, handing out my hand.
"well, do you wanna be my teammate?"
I was waiting for her to accept my hand, but to my surprise her attention was on something else.
Or should I say, someone else.
"you were someone who looked like they would come with me." 067 told Ji-Yeong,
"That's how I feel." Ji-Yeong said, I saw how Y/n bit her lip and looked down.
If you're that close with her, why can't you just sort out the problem rather than ignoring like the both of you don't exist in your worlds?
Or! Or!!!
When you have a problem you're facing, just turn your back at it.
HAHAHA okay shut up Kenji.
067 accepted the offer, Y/n suddenly wiped tears rolling down her cheeks.
Y/n...
It was like I wanted to wipe her tears away for her, be the person who protects he-
"yeah, sure. I'll be your teammate."
That suddenly made me smirk, "good."
