The next morning, Karthik comes back home from his medical camp. Navya leaves from there after breakfast, leaving Aadhira and Karthik alone. Aadhira turns towards him "Karthik.. let's talk.. today you have to tell me everything..". Karthik smiles and looks at her "Okay.. but promise me.. you will listen to me completely.. You will not make any hasty decisions.. and you will trust me".
She nods looking at him, Karthik switches off the TV and turns towards Aadhira "Let's start from the very beginning.. the beginning when you were born.. my little princess was born.. I was so happy.. I was so excited to see you that I kept troubling Maa and dad.. after bearing all my excitement they took me to see you at the hospital..
You were so small you know.. only this much..", he shows how small she was with his hands, she chuckles "All babies are that small only Karthik". He smiles "I didn't know that na back then.. I was just 4.. you were so pink.. and you kept crying because you couldn't get hold of Pingu.. which I got for you.. which you still have and cuddle with it to sleep.. you didn't know that I got it for you right.."
She smiles "I know.. Maa told me.. Pingu has always been special.. I don't like to leave him alone.. I take him with me anywhere I go.. when Maa told me about this I understood why Pingu is so special to me". He smiles blushing a little "Anyway.. You kept crying throwing your legs and arms but the minute you held my finger you stopped crying.. that moment onwards I'm yours Aadhu..
You became my whole world in just a matter of few minutes.. my whole world started revolving around you.. I would find reasons to be around you.. whenever I would get a holiday I would run to you.. Mumma used to make fun of me asking me if I will ever be at home.. I would reply saying she is always with dad then I can be with you.. when our grandparents would visit they will tell our parents to get us married in future..
I was very happy.. because Mumma and dad were married so they stayed together.. so I thought if we get married we will stay together always.. imagine Aadhu a 6 year old thinking of getting married.. that's how much I loved you.. at that time obviously it was not love.. you were my best friend.. She shakes her head, he smiles looking at her and holds her hand "You would hold my hand and take me along with you to play.. I could never say No to you.. you were my princess.. my little fairy princess.. you would always cheat and win over me me.. because you know one time I see tears in your eyes I would give up everything.. so much cheating you have done you know.."
She chuckles looking at him "Who told you to have soft corner for me", he smiles looking down "Not just a corner Aadhu.. my whole heart goes soft for you.. and you took very good advantage of that at all times my little princess". He pulls her nose, she swats his hand scrunching her nose away while he chuckles "You still don't like it haan".
She glares at him "No", he keeps laughing looking at her. She smiles looking at him "You know you actually look good when you smile.. you give tough competition to my hero Vidyut.. I don't like your serious face.. I hate it even". He looks towards her "You won't leave that actor even now", she shakes her head laughing "Are you jealous of him Karthikkkk.."
He looks at her and moves closer to her "Weren't you jealous of Navya", She moves behind as he holds her hand and pulls her closer "Th.. that was different.. it's not the same..". He smiles looking at her "Oh really Mrs.Karthik.. how is it different", she looks at him and points her finger to him "You are distracting.. diverting.. continue the story.. or I'll not feed you any food.. nor will I let you order".
He smiles "Okay Okay.. I'll tell you.. you know I can't live without food..", she smiles and pulls up her collar "I know.. that's why I have a perfect blackmail option for you". He shakes his head looking at her "Anyway.. when you were 3.. we had to move away.. Dad had got a transfer to Hyderabad.. so I had to go even though I didn't want to.. I would try to tell mumma and convince her to not go..
But we had to I was very sad.. and you.. you cried the whole day and slept at night tired because of crying that's when we left.. and probably with passing time I guess you forget me.. but I never did Aadhu.. you were in my mind at all times.. As I grew up I kept wondering how would you be.. would you remember me..
Will we come together like before.. will you even talk to me.. I kept wondering all these.. and you know dad promised me he will get us married once we are of age while leaving from Chennai.. dad thought it was just a silly little promise and I wouldn't remember it.. but I never forgot it.. It was always there in my mind Aadhu.. you were always there in my mind..
I could not forget you.. even if I tried to I just couldn't.. You were the only one I wanted.. you were the only one I needed.. College started.. I met Abhi and Yash.. Yash was the silent and studious one.. while Abhi was the talkative and fun one.. they both became my best friends.. Karthik chuckles looking at her "Slow down.. calm down Aadhu I'll tell you everything.. take deep breaths.. breathe before you ask questions okay.. super fast train you are.. you keep asking questions without letting the other person answer".
She looks down embarrassed "Okay okay tell me now", Karthik smiles "Good.. I saw you at the beach.. you were playing with your friends.. I didn't know you were my Aadhu then.. I wished for my Aadhu to be like you.. then I heard your friends calling your name.. I hoped you were my Aadhu.. then I saw Gautam uncle.. I mean Nanna.. who had come to pick you up..
Now I was sure that you were my Aadhu.. I was the happiest.. I couldn't contain my excitement and happiness.. I found my little fairy princess who was not little anymore.. she was now making my heart skip a beat.. she had turned into a beautiful woman.. someone who was not scared of speaking up against anyone..
Someone who was always ready to support her friends.. someone who was not ready to let her friend suffer.. someone who was ready to support the right and stand against the wrong.. even if it meant telling your friend that she is wrong.. I fell in love with you Aadhira.. maybe not then.. I was already in love with you.. I fell for you more.. but after that incident I was going crazy..
I used to hallucinate your presence.. I even hugged some random girl thinking it's you.. Godd!! That was a narrow escape.. she was ready to file a complaint of me harassing her". Aadhira tries to control her laugh looking at him but bursts out laughing, she speaks in between her fits of laughter "Sorry.. so.. sorry.. I.. I know I shouldn't laugh.. but imagining you in that situation is just.. sorry..".
He glares at her, she keeps trying to control her laugh and finally stops and looks at him and asks him to proceed but then something pops into her brain "Wait wait.. where did you see me again after the beach..". He smiles "In a club.. you even thought I was going to behave wrongly with you and covered me with your shawl..". She looks at him shocked "That.. that was you..", she smacks his arms "Who flirts with such intense words you idiot.. godd I could never forget those words.. 'Because you mean the world to me'.. I spent so many sleepless nights thinking of this.. idiot"
He smiles "I have spent more sleepless nights than you my dear Aadhu.. you were so close to me Aadhu yet I couldn't hold you in my arms.. I couldn't even talk to you.. I told dad all about seeing you again.. he told me not to force you into anything.. even I wasn't going to.. I was waiting for you to complete your studies..
But then I got accepted into the college here in Birmingham.. I wanted to come here.. but I didn't want to leave you again.. but this was an opportunity of my life.. I couldn't miss it.. I was ready to go.. but before that I wanted to meet you once.. I wanted to let you know that there is someone who is waiting for you desperately.. I penned down my feelings for you.. and brought it to your college.. that's the day.. everything went wrong.."
