Dark Enchantress waited impatiently.
The two cookies, Licorice and Red Velvet, were taking too long.
She was completely oblivious of what was delaying them.
She called one of her more disposable servants.
Dark Choco cookie.
He came almost instantly.
Dark Choco gazed up at Dark Enchantress.
"Why must you call me?" Dark Choco asked.
"I require you to go to the room where the ancients are being held. Retrieve Licorice and Red Velvet." Dark Enchantress demanded.
"Yes, Master." Dark Choco turned away.
Dark Choco swiftly walked to the room.
He wanted to get it over with quickly.
The door was broken.
There was a fallen archway that blocked the entrance.
Dark Choco grabbed his sword and turned the rubble to dust within a minute.
The scene on the other side was horrifying.
Red Velvet and Licorice hanged on the strings, intertwined.
Blood littered the floor, along with Red Velvet's broken blade.
Dark Choco rushed in.
He jumped up and used the other strings to hold his weight up.
He used his sword to cut the strings.
Red Velvet and Licorice's bodies fell to the ground.
Red Velvet's head shifted up weakly.
He was too weak to do anything.
His eyes widened.
"D-Dark... Choco... behind..." Red Velvet sputtered words out as a warning.
He passed out shortly after.
Dark Choco looked behind him.
Dark Cacao stared at him.
He charged, slashing at him.
Dark Choco parried him.
"Why are you here?! Why did you do this?" Dark Choco asked him.
Dark Choco kicked his father.
"They have done only wrong." Dark Cacao responded.
Dark Cacao tried to slash at him again.
"They had more possibilities than you ever gave me." Dark Choco insulted.
Dark Cacao attempted to shock him with lightning.
"How DARE you say that to me!" Dark Cacao yelled at him.
Dark Choco struck back at him.
It sent Dark Cacao flying back.
Dark Choco lost control.
The sword possessed him.
He stabbed Dark Cacao multiple times before dragging him back to the strings.
He was forced to redo the knots by the sword.
Dark Choco fell back.
He looked at what he had done in horror.
"You... failure..." Dark Cacao said one last insult before passing out.
Dark Choco knelt down.
He sobbed into his hands.
Meanwhile, Licorice had woken up.
He gasped in agony.
The injuries were still there.
He tried to get to his feet, but he was too weak for him to be able to.
He looked at Red Velvet.
His hair and clothes were almost completely doused in Licorice's and his own blood.
It didn't make a difference that Licorice's was too.
It was somewhat peaceful though.
Red Velvet had a somewhat sound expression on his face.
Licorice felt motivated to try and away from the ancients.
He slowly began to use the last of his strength to try and crawl to the exit.
Dark Choco stopped crying to himself.
He wiped his eyes.
He needed to complete the task Dark Enchantress assigned.
He walked to where Licorice and Red Velvet was and grabbed them both.
Licorice was considerably lighter than Red Velvet.
He carried them to Dark Enchantress.
She had been peacefully sitting there before he came.
When she saw them, she quickly ran to Dark Choco.
"What happened to them?!" Dark Enchantress demanded an answer frantically.
"Dark Cacao escaped the strings and attacked them." Dark Choco calmly explained.
Dark Enchantress grabbed both of them from his arms.
"What are you waiting for?! Get Pomegranate, NOW." Dark Enchantress demanded.
Dark Choco walked to get Pomegranate.
Dark Enchantress looked at the two cookies in her arms.
Her son and a Necromancer.
Two of the most useful cookies.
Dark Choco returned with Pomegranate.
Pomegranate quietly gasped at the scene.
Dark Enchantress tried to hand her Licorice's body, but Red Velvet would not let go of his hand.
"They are holding onto each other. Did you notice that?" Pomegranate commented.
Dark Enchantress looked at them.
She sighed.
"Then we will keep them together." Dark Enchantress stated.
She removed Licorice from Pomegranate's arms and carried both of them to Licorice's room.
She placed them down carefully on his bed.
"Well? Pomegranate, heal them." Dark Enchantress demanded.
Pomegranate nodded.
She began to cast...
~1 hour later...~
Red Velvet opened his eyes.
He sat up quickly and looked around.
The last thing he could remember was being inside the room where the ancients were held.
Pomegranate and Dark Enchantress were talking while sitting down.
Dark Enchantress noticed that Red Velvet was up.
"We will finish this conversation later." Dark Enchantress said to Pomegranate.
Dark Enchantress quickly walked to Red Velvet.
"Red Velvet! My son! How are you doing? Are you feeling better?" Dark Enchantress asked Red Velvet multiple questions.
"I'm feeling fine... sort of... where is Licorice? What happened?" Red Velvet responded with some more questions.
"Licorice is right next to you." Dark Enchantress spoke.
It was true.
Licorice was right next to him.
He was still passed out.
"What happened was that Dark Choco discovered what happened, and came to prevent you two from becoming like the other ancients." Dark Enchantress explained.
Red Velvet nodded.
"Why were you holding Licorice's hand?" Dark Enchantress asked.
Red Velvet looked away.
"I'd prefer not to answer that." Red Velvet replied.
"Fair." Dark Enchantress sighed.
Red Velvet looked at Licorice.
He had woken up, finally.
He smiled at the thin Mage.
At least they were okay.
