Chapter ninety: "Laziest When It Comes To Mornings"
We slowly walked back to the hotel and Abby decided to talk with me while Cloud was talking to Nick and Nikki
"So...how did you and Cloud meet?"
I gave her a small smile "We're childhood friends, we met through a similar friend and meet again through the same group of friends"
Now that I think of it, fate has been trying to make me keep meeting with Cloud with the same people I call my friend, there are billions of people that he could be friends with but it just so happens to be with my group
They say it's a small world
Once she heard that we were childhood friends her eyes turned to disappointment "Oh"
"How did you meet Cloud?"
She grinned at me "We met when I ran away from home"
I stopped with my tracks and she stopped alongside me, Cloud and the twins kept walking in front of us leaving both of us behind
She's the runaway girl
There's no doubt about it, they had a history together but nobody knows her it means they met through the same situation. Cloud did try to run away from his home and in the process, I assume she met Abby show as the runaway girl
Abby considers the hotel owner her Mom which means it is concrete evidence that she did run away from home and she got adopted, it means
She slept with Cloud
Cloud told me before that he did it once and it was a runaway, she fits the criteria perfectly. Suddenly there was a sharp pain in my chest that I couldn't explain it was so hard to swallow that information
This shouldn't be even the less of my worried but why does it feel like it hurts me a bit inside
Damn, maybe I am hungry after all
Too bad I gave half of my burger to Nikki
I don't know how can I act around her the moment I realized the truth, it was awkward and weird to be with her, even more so with Cloud who has now finished his conversation with the twins
I masked my real emotions with a smile "I see, why did you run away from your home?"
"Well I always get abused mentally and physically"
I don't know what to say about the situation, I was not mad but I pity her real bad. I have my fair share of mental abuse from other people as I grow up and it is hard. I can't even imagine the physical abuse she has to go through
Now that I think of it, Abby was a bit timid, and even if she shows us a big smile and a lot of energy there was a small barrier that she created around herself and Cloud seemed to be the only one who can cross that barrier. You don't need to be smart to know that she has a barrier
She kept sticking to Cloud's side like glue during our walk back to the hotel, he didn't push her away or make any mean joke. Geez, the difference in treatment is astoundingly big
When we finally reached our hotel rooms the twins went into their rooms first and I was planning to go into our room but I noticed that Cloud wasn't behind me neither was Abby too. I searched around the hallways and I hid immediately behind a wall once I saw them talking to each other
Abby was twirling a small strand of hair and she gave him a flirty look "I didn't know you have a girlfriend now" she said to him, Cloud was leaning at a wall next to a painting
Both of his hands were shoved deep in his jacket "Yeah, she is quite a handful"
They both laughed, I was listening to them while hiding behind the wall
I'm a handful to Cloud also
"What are you gonna do about her?"
I took a small peek and I could see that he shrugged
She giggled a bit before kissing his cheek "Goodnight Cloud"
I didn't want to hear more of the conversation so I ran back to our hotel room and brushed my teeth in the bathroom, after brushing I washed my face and stared at the mirror image of myself in front of me
It's gonna be okay, I'll be fine
I dried my face with a towel before I stroll back to the bedroom to throw myself on the bed and find a comfortable position to sleep in, too bad I forgot my hotdog pillow because I really need to cuddle something right now. I could hear the door open and Cloud entering the room
He looked at me getting ready to sleep on the bed so he removed his jacket and hopped on
I didn't feel like looking at him at the moment so I turned my back on him
I could never understand this weird feeling in me or why am I acting this way but one thing is for sure. He can go back to Abby for all I care.
"Angel"
He called out to me and I turn my head a bit to see his arms open wide
What does he want? A hug?
I looked at him strangely
Alright, just hug him and then we'll sleep if he manages to sleep early
Hesitating to come closer to him because of what I heard from his conversation with Abby, Cloud got impatient so he grabbed my wrist and pulled me to him in an instant. Locking his arms around to stop me from trying to escape "Cloud let go"
He shook his head "I'll let go when the sun rises"
I sighed
So this is the person I have to sleep with every night
Just hold it in Penelope, he needs this so he can sleep

We woke up to the sound of my phone alarm, I set it so we can wake early to get to the train station before 9 AM. My heavy eyes opened a bit and I can feel my head rest on Cloud's chest and my arms hugging him
The hell!?
This is a weird position to wake up in, I don't think we even moved an inch from the position we slept in last night. The duvet though did change because I remembered sleeping without it and this time when I woke up both of us are covered with a duvet.
I tried to remove the arms that locked me close to him last night but it woke him up with just a slight movement, the curtains are not blackout curtains so there is a small amount of light coming in the hotel room. His eyes slowly open and his forest green eyes are the brightest thing I can see the first thing in the morning
It took him a while to process things and his eyes went straight for my face, the arm that was around my waist had been removed and the hand cupped my cheek using his thumb to caress my skin "Morning" he greeted me with a raspy voice and half-closed eyes
There was a light knock at the door so I decided to be the one to answer it, Cloud didn't want to remove his arms around me so I covered his face with my pillow and I stood up quickly. I can still hear his small whine that is being muffled down by the pillow
My hand reached for the doorknob and the person that was knocking at the door is I assumed to be Nick but it was not
It was Abby waiting by the door, she looked like she was talking to somebody in the hallway before she turned to me. I haven't fixed my hair or the clothes that I used to sleep in for the night, she became awkward again "Good morning!"
I rubbed one of my eyes "You too"
"Angel who's at the door?" Cloud asked while being on the bed, he moved his body to the middle to get all the space. Since his height was so tall his feet almost reached the end of the bed by just a few centimeters
"It's Abby"
He gave me a thumbs-up before covering himself with the duvet, I put one hand on my waist as I walked closer to the bed "Aren't you gonna wake up?"
"I am awake, I'm just too lazy to get up"
Cloud is spitting facts though, I'm also at my laziest when it comes to mornings
"But you have to get up or else we might miss the train if we arrived late"
He poked his head out of the duvet and gave me the 'the hell' look, he checked his phone and showed me the time "You set your alarm two hours early!"
