XIII .

OVER THE LAST FEW DAYS, Amanda kept me company, meaning that in more ways than one. The weekend had ended far too soon when we had to be reminded that school still existed somewhere in between our daydream, the thought of having to keep away from and my hands to myself felt like it was going to be impossible. At least in these past couple of mornings, I had her before we even left for school, sharing a few kisses here and there when we could, her hands always running over my shoulders, sometimes into my hair when it would be down which always felt the best.

This morning though felt like something was off as I watched Amanda walk around her small but spacious kitchen while I took small bites from my toast, I arched an eyebrow when she threw something into the sink a little harder than necessary.

"What are you getting huffy about?" I spoke up once I finished my toast, placing the plate into the stainless steel sink, as I stood next to her, my fingers gently moving her hair out of her face when she stood up straight.

"Not now, Wilson." She snapped, making me hold my hands up in defence as she pushed off the counter to leave the kitchen and go upstairs, not understanding how I touched a nerve so quick, usually it takes half a day to get there.

"I'll be waiting in the car," I called up the stairs, waiting for a response that never came.

I mumbled out a simple whatever underneath my breath as I left the house, leaving the door open for her when she would finally decide to join me as I walked down the driveway to my car. The road conditions had me double thinking on whether to drive or walk to school, knowing though that if I chose to walk it would only annoy DeCeno even further than having to go to school.

With a long sigh, I turned on the car's engine, going to drive as far as it will take me in this snow while I set to scraping the snow and ice from off the windshield, the inside starting to warm up when the ice was easier to clear. I heard a door shut when I saw Amanda lock up and start heading my way, her head hung down, looking up briefly as she gave me a weak smile before she climbed into the car.

Once the window was cleared and defrosted, I climbed into the driver's seat, quickly taking a glance at her while she was staring at her phone before replying to a message. I held my hands out on the heater to try and bring life back to my fingertips as I clenched and unclenches them multiple time to get the blood back into them, knowing I was all good when they started to prickle and go itchy as they warmed up. I pulled away from the kerb with my tyre sliding before it gained traction and I could slowly creep from out of her close and get to school.

For a journey that usually takes a little under ten minutes from her house and ended up taking half an hour, with slow-paced traffic and the means of keeping my speed slow so I wouldn't skid, even though whenever I came to a stop my car would slide an extra few meters than where I wanted to stop. I was glad when I pulled into the school's entrance, the caretaker had cleared the snow out of the parking area. When I pulled into a parking bay, I looked at the crowd of people, my eyes landing on Chrissy amongst the other students, glad she wasn't looking my way.

The car had just finished parking when Amanda practically threw herself out the door. I grabbed my rucksack and took a deep breath in as I pulled the keys from the ignition and climbed out, slamming the door shut so I could catch up with her.

"Stop," I called as I grabbed her wrist and pulled her to a stop when she turned to face me. "What's wrong, DeCeno?" my voice sounding slightly frustrated, trying to not take my annoyance out on her.

She gave me a simple shrug when she looked over her shoulder towards the school, "I just don't want to be here."

"Then we can go home and skip the day," my voice going soft as I looked into her dark brown eyes when she looked back at me.

She quietly muttered that it was okay when she started to head towards the entrance, her hand sliding out of mine as she walked away before I started to follow close behind.

As the morning went on, her mood shifted and she was acting almost like she normally does, shooting her sarcastic comments and biting back with quick remarks. Not knowing what was the matter for this morning, only briefly catching her in the hallways between lessons. Waiting to have my lesson with her at some point today.

The first few lessons passed at the speed of a crawl when I just wanted it to be in science already so I could talk to Amanda. When the bell rang for the end of class, my stomach flipped as I finally got what I wanted and had been waiting for. Getting sick of the people from the other classes, just wanting to go home for the rest of the day, at least this last class will be tolerable.

I walked down the hallway towards where my locked is, my eyes concentrating on the code when I felt a hand run along my lower back and a little further down, I looked behind me to see Amanda smiling when she leant up against the lockers. Once the door unlocked, I stuffed the books that I didn't need back into my locker that felt like Narnia when you was looking for the one you needed.

"May I help you?" I asked, finding my science book underneath the cluttered mess of papers from loose sheets that I wrote notes on that have now been discarded into my locker.

"Well," her voice coming out sultry when she pushed the door closed, her hand running up my chest to snake them around my neck. "There is something that you could do." Her body flushed against mine as she leant forward feeling her breath tickle my lips before giving me a soft kiss, our lips barely touching when she moved away and took my hand in hers.

She pulled me down the hallway a few steps until her back was pressed up against a door, her hand on the doorknob as she opened it up, her free hand taking a fistful of my hoodie when she pulled me into the dimly lit closet space with her.

I felt her lips press roughly against mine, my back hitting against a shelf in the cramped space, a small laugh coming from the both of us at how inconveniently small the janitor closet was. I felt her forehead rest on my chest while she let out a small giggle, the sound dying down when we looked each other in the eyes, her dark brown eyes glinting with something as a smug look crossed her face. When the giggles were stifled and I cleared my throat I leant forward with pursed lips to kiss her again when a bright flash of light shined in my eyes.

"Why are you two in here?" asked one of the housekeepers. Her hand on her hips as she looked the two of us up and down, Amanda trying to keep a straight face but failed when she quickly weaved around the cleaner, dragging me with her.

"Checking for skeletons," saying the first thing that popped into my head, Amanda raised an eyebrow at me while the cleaner shook her head and locked the door behind her.

"Seriously, skeletons? By any chance, did you find yourself in the closet?" she joked while I feigned hurt at her comment.

"What was I meant to say, tell her I wanted a quick seven-minutes-in-heaven and to come back in five." I deadpanned at her poking fun at my expense.

"Still longer than some guys I've been with," throwing that shade in the air. As much as I'd like to know who didn't last long, the thought of her being with a guy felt strange.

We finally reached class several minutes late when we disrupted the lesson, the teacher giving us an unimpressed look as I muttered a sorry and sat down in my usual seat. I realised I had forgotten my book after getting distracted, I let out a sigh and went to raise my hand when Amanda slid me over a scrap piece of lined paper.

It wasn't long until the teacher stood up from his desk to discuss peoples findings from the previous lesson, having no notes nor information on my test study, I just hope and pray he won't choose me. He went around picking people at random to read a recap of what they had done and the conclusion of their results, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't slowly panicking inside.

The anxious feelings subsided when I felt Amanda's hand on my thigh as it slipped to my inner thighs my teeth biting my lower lip while I tried to ignore her. When her hand started to travel further up I shut my legs and clamped her hand in place, grateful when the bell rang to end the lesson when I stood up straight, my eyes glaring at her when she stood up toe-to-toe with me. I could see the smirk tugging at the corner of her lips before she turned around to leave the classroom.

When we got into the corridor I decided to ditch the last waste of a class as I started to walk to the exit, a confused look on DeCeno's face before she came jogging up to me, guessing she was going to ditch with me too. The two of us walked over to my car as we clambered inside with her reaching over to me she gave me a quick kiss on the lips, not giving me enough time to react or kiss her back.

"Oh, by the way, thanks for the heads up that you was leaving." She spoke up when she did her seat belt up, knowing I could clap back with multiple different things but decided on not annoying her.

"No problem," I shrugged with a smile and turned the engine on.

We settled upon going back to mine since no one would be home, dreading the count down to when my mother gets back. I glanced down at my bruised knuckles from the small fight with Chrissy, not having seen her for the last few days, not that I'm complaining, it's been nice not having to keep looking over my shoulder.

When we arrived at my house, I did my usual routine of removing shoes, grabbing a bottle of water and going straight upstairs to my room, my sanctuary. As soon as we got into my bedroom she dropped down onto the sofa while I grabbed my laptop from off my bed. We took up either corner of the sofa while she flicked through the television for something interesting.

I set my laptop onto the small coffee table when I stood up with a stretch, deciding to lie down to dull this headache I had starting in the right temple. I took my glasses off and lay in the middle of the bed with my arm folded over my eyes.

I peeked out the small gap in between my elbow joint when I heard her moving about as she walked over to where I was, her right hand running up my thigh and over my pelvis when I felt her lips press gently onto mine.

"Are you okay?" her voice soft, her lips kissing my chin and along my jaw.

"I just have a headache," I mumbled when her kisses started to leave trails down my neck and to my collar bone.

"I know one thing that can help," she whispered into my ear her teeth grazing the lobe when she straddled me, a smirk on her face when she took her shirt off while I lay there and looked her over, my nails digging into her thighs when I sat up with her in my lap.

Somewhere in between the soft kisses of affection and moving her so she was on her back ended up turning into something a lot rougher, feeling her tongue running along with mine with want and need, I moved my lips to kiss down the side of her neck while my hand unbuttoned her jeans. I gave her a look when I hesitated to make sure she wanted this when I received an eye roll from her.

With my fingertips travelling down the contours of her stomach and beneath the waistband of her lacy underwear, her breath getting caught in her throat when I slid them in slowly. Her fingernails clawed down my back as I bit her neck, a louder moan coming from her this time when I smiled against her skin, feeling her body move into my fingers as she started to grow impatient,

"More." she moaned in a breathy sigh.

Giving her what she wanted, her lips crushed back against mine until she let out another moan, this time louder than before, giving me a smug feeling as I let out a sigh of pleasure when she kept on getting louder. I felt a slight trail of something burning up my back from where she had clawed my skin, giving my back a break when I started to kiss down her stomach.

"Rebecca." I heard someone call from down the stairs.

My heart leapt into my mouth and stopped beating, a confused and frustrated look across Amanda's face while mine mimicked horror.
