Lily stood on the balcony of the garage watching as the team send David out for qualifying. The track was relatively quiet right now with only the two Audi cars, and the Maseratis.
After a few minutes, Jack was sent out but the track was a lot busier right now just as David started his fast lap.
Lily looked at the live timing screen on her phone and watched as David set the fastest time just as Armani and Fenous decided to send out their cars.
Jack finished his first flying lap and managed to go 9th fastest overall. Lily nodded as she watched the rookie slow down and charge his battery for the next lap.
There was roughly 7 minutes left in the session and the team called David in as he was currently 2nd fastest and they wanted to get ready for Q2.
Jack was still pushing in order to make it out of Q1 for his first Formula One qualifying session of his career.
Unfortunately he missed out on that by just a couple tenths of a second. Jack returned to the garage and got out of the car. He briefly spoke with his engineers before heading to get changed out of his suit.
By the end of the session David managed to qualify P6 which gave him a good starting point for some good overtaking during tomorrow's race which this Austrian was very good at.
Lily left the balcony and walked back down towards the garage where David was being wheeled back into the garage while Jack's car was already there and the driver no where in sight.
"Nice job David." Lily said as she walked passed the older man as he finished talking to his race engineer.
"Hey Lily. Thanks." David smiled at the young girl as he used a towel to wipe the sweat from the back of his neck.
Lily continued to walk through the garage and across the pit lane where her father was sat talking to Ross and Alan, the team strategist, about the session and tomorrow's race.
"Hey Lils." John spoke as she spotted his daughter approaching.
"Hey guys." The brown haired girl replied. "I'm gonna head back to hospitality. I'll see you there."
Lily bid goodbye to everyone on the pit wall and and walked towards the garage. She walked careful through the garage making sure she didn't get in anyone's way.
The paddock was relatively busy post qualifying with interviews taking place down at the media pen as Lily made the short walk from the garage to the hospitality building.
"Hello love." Louise spoke as the Bennett girl walked inside.
"Hi Louise." Lily replied as she walked through hospitality towards where the older woman was stood behind a counter. "What did you think of that?"
"David did very well. Unfortunately not the start Jack would have wanted for his first qualifying." Louise said nodding to the young boy who was sitting across the room on the phone.
"Yeh. Hopefully he'll do better tomorrow." Lily spoke as she turned back from looking at the rolls to the woman in front of her.
"Fingers crossed. Can I get you anything love?" The older woman asked.
"I'm good thanks. I'm just gonna wait in dad's office until he comes back." The brown haired girl explained.
"Okay love, see you later." Louise said before Lily disappeared down the corridor leading to the offices.
Jack got off the phone with his mum at the same time. His parents weren't able to make it to Bahrain so he promised to call them at the end of every day.
He sighed placing his phone on the table as he ran his hands down his face in frustration. Today hasn't worked out how he wanted at all and now he had a lot to prove tomorrow by finishing higher than he qualified.
Out of the corner of his eyes Jack spotted the same girl he saw sitting outside the hospitality building after FP2 yesterday.
He watched as she disappeared down the hallway leading to the head offices belonging to the various managers within the team along with team principal John Bennett himself.
Curiosity ran through his mind as he wondered what she would be doing down there and what exactly her job was within the team.
Knowing he was never gonna get an answer today, Jack stood up and grabbed his stuff from the before leaving to head back to his hotel room and get sorted for tomorrow.

Lily was sitting in the back of a black car on her way to the track on Sunday morning with her phone pressed to her ear speaking to one of her friends from home who was now living in Spain.
"Hey. You heading to the track?" Nicole wondered as her voice echoed through the phone into Lily's ear.
"Yep. Should be there in about 5/10 minutes." Lily replied as she looked outside to see where she was.
"So how's everything going so far this weekend?" The blonde girl asked from Spain.
"So far so good. Things didn't go quite as everyone expected for Jack but David is doing well." Lily explained as she crossed one leg over the other.
"Speaking of Jack. Please tell me you've at least gotten his phone number at this stage." Nicole spoke causing Lily to roll her eyes even though her friend couldn't see her.
"Nicole don't start. You said this when Chase started in F1." Lily reminded her.
Chase Jones was a 21 year old driver for Audi F1 team. He had been part of Bennett Racing's young driver programme during his junior formula days hence how he knew Lily.
It was safe to say the pair were close and still were to this day. It was nice for Lily to have someone to hang around with on race weekends that was of similar age to her and her father was a huge fan of the British driver.
During the early stages of their friendship back when they were 16 and 17. Nicole had this idea in her head the pair would eventually end up together although it never happened as they remain good friends.
"Well this time I'm sure it'll happen." Nicole spoke confidently.
"For that to happen I'd actually have to meet the guy." Lily commented causing Nicole to gasp.
"You still haven't met him? Why not?" Nicole wondered.
"Because when he first joined the team I was in Spain with you for two months and then by the time I came back it was time for the season to start." The Bennett girl explained.
"And what's your excuse for not introducing yourself to him this weekend?" Nicole questioned.
"I haven't seen him. Anytime I'm in the garage he's out on track and then when the sessions finish I head back to the hotel." Lily told her best friend.
"Well you really should introduce yourself. Or at least get your dad too." Nicole said as Lily watched the car pull up outside the paddock entrance.
"As interesting as that sounds, I just arrived at the track so I have to go." Lily explained as she got out of the car and used her free hand to put her paddock pass around her neck.
"Remember what I said." Nicole shouted down the phone.
"Bye Nicole." Lily rolled her eyes in reply before handing up the phone.
She thanked the man who had drove her here from her hotel before heading towards the swipe gates to get into the paddock.
