Tw: self harm

-Y/N's POV-
Okay it won't be so bad. Just jump out of this tree and fall hard enough to break something. Then you'll have to see her! I'm an idiot. Hurting myself for someone who probably won't love me back. Her husband, Augustine died a few years ago. I know shes moved on but would she be willing to start a new relationship. Is she even gay?
Unimportant! I crave attention and this is how to do it! Before I could talk come sense into myself, I jumped from the seventeen foot tall tree. Mind you I knew someone who broke their arm falling out of a hammock. So seventeen feet? That'll leave a mark. A big one.
I'm on the ground, it wasn't so bad, but am I hurt? I didn't just climb that tree for nothing, right? Wait, I can't feel anything. Never mind, the pain just hit. "Ow ow ow! That was not a good idea!"
Yeah no, I'm not going to be able to get to the Casita. My legs aren't even going to work. Woah, I feel dizzy... I'll just rest here and see her later... And I passed out.
Then, yelling.
"She's over here!"
"What happened!"
"Get her to the Madrigal's they can help!"
"Get her on the stretcher, quick!"
"Is her arm supposed to bend that way..?"
A bunch of towns folk had found me, I was being carried on a stretcher. I found this out while drifting in and out of consciousness. Though every time I woke I felt searing pain in every part of my body.
The next time I woke up I had been sat in a chair, sitting up. I hissed at the pain in my arm, legs, and head. Only then did I look around and see Julieta frantically running around the kitchen, cooking as fast as she could.
"J-Juli.?"
She turned to look at me. "Oh, thank god you're awake! Don't fall back asleep, I'm scared you'll die. I ran out of pre cooked food so I have to make more! Please don't fall back asleep until it's done! Then you can tell me what happened."
"I'd rather die. Goodnight Juli."
"Don't, you, dare." She glared at me and I felt a chill run down my spine.
It wasn't long before she had finished a few arepas. "I'm done, eat this." She handed me the food and I took it with my good arm. I took a bite and it hurt to chew. I ended up flinching each time I tired. Julieta was scrunching her nose, clearly upset with how bad I'd gotten hurt. Eventually I gave up and just swallowed the small bite whole.
I suddenly began feeling better. My legs weren't aching and my headache was gone. My arm bent the normal way.
Julieta let out a sigh as I went back to normal. "Okay, Y/N. You've got some explaining to do. What happened that got you hurt so bad?"
"I fell out of a tree. A tall one. It looked fun to climb. I was wrong." I was lying through my teeth. Of course I hadn't meant to get hurt this badly.
"You're going to die one of these days! You're too reckless!"
"I'll be more careful!"
"Promise?"
"I promise."
-The next day-
Yeah I broke my promise. I had taken a knife from my kitchen and cat a large slit it one on my arms from my elbow to my hand. It was bleeding badly though it wasn't too deep. The hard part would be finding a lie to explain this. Thorn bush? Sharp rock. I don't know, it just happened? All bad. Worst comes to worst, I don't know.
I wrapped the giant cut in a cloth and started my short walk to the Casita. I lived nearby so it wasn't to far. When I stepped up to the gate Casita opened the doors for me, already knowing why I was there. I walked to the Kitchen and stepped inside. Like always, Julieta was there cooking.
"Hey Juli~"
"Back so soon? What happened?"
"Nothing, thought you just might like to see me."
"You know I like your visits but obviously somethings happened."
"Sooo... I broke the promise.."
"Seriously? What'd you do this time?"
"I really don't know! I was just walking and I felt a sudden sting on my arm!" I held out my arm which a blood stained cloth now covered.
"Okay take off the cloth and let me see." She grabbed food and walked over to me as I unwrapped the cloth.
"That's a really big cut Y/N... And it's a clean one too, almost as though a knife did it. Not something that could've happened on a walk... Y/N, what really happened.?" She looked up at me, genuinely concerned. She held out the food which I gladly took and ate a bite of.
"I was stabbed.?"
"WHAT?! BY WHO?!"
"Uhm..."
"Y/N! Please!"
"Me?"
"You stabbed yourself..? Why would you do that?"
"So I could see you..." I knew I wouldn't be able to lie forever but I didn't want her to find out this way.
"Y/N, if you wanted my attention you could've just asked.. Please stop hurting yourself..."
"But I-"
"No! You listen to me here! Stop this! Understood?"
"Yes ma'am!"
"Good. Now you can leave. I have to finish my food here." She turned around and went back to her food.
"But, I don't want to leave."
"Then stay. Just let me work and it doesn't matter to me." She looked over at me with a smile.
"Yay!" I was probably being childish but I didn't really care. I just walked up behind Julieta and wrapped my arms around her stomach.
"What are you doing?"
"I crave validation and attention." I least I was being honest now.
And of course Isabela just had to walk in. She stared for a moment before speaking. "Are you two finally together?"
I stopped the hug. "Ha! Julieta wishes!"
"Sure I do Y/N." She was letting me keep my dignity while her daughter was around. Respect.
"Okayyy?" With that Isabela left.
"Y/N you really should go. Don't you have things to do?"
"You're the only thing on my 'To Do' list."
Her face tinted a light shade of pink, though it was hard to tell. "Clever. But do you have no life?"
"I don't, no."
"That's sad."
"Correct!"
"But my family is having dinner soon so you should probably leave."
"And if I want to be apart of your family?"
"Very funny."
"Really, nothing? I'm slipping."
"You can visit me after lunch, okay?"
"Finee. By my LoVe!" And you bet I said it all dramatic and gay.
She gave me a smile and waved as I left the Casita.
And wouldn't you know? I'm also clumsy. Whilst walking back to my home I fell, hard. I cut my hands and knees open on the gravel, and it really stung. I'd just have Julieta heal it later. She's going to be upset.
-Later- (shut up, I'm lazy)
Lunch is long over and I walked back to the Casita. I stepped inside and walked to the kitchen.
"Mi vida! I've returned!"
"Oh great. Wait what'd you just call me.?"
"Unimportant! I need food!"
"You're kidding right?"
"No. No I'm not. I tripped on the gravel after leaving. I'm sorry!"
"Okay, I love you but you need to stop getting hurt!" She grabbed some food and then froze.
"I kno- I'm sorry, did you just say you love me.?" She turned around, blush covering her face and walked over to me. She gave me an arepa but never said a word. When she went to leave the room I spoke. "I love you too, Juli!" I took a bite out of the arepa and she turned around.
"You're serious..?"
"Why do you think I constantly flirt with you?" I chuckled and walked over to her. "And why else would I hurt myself almost every day just to see you?" I pulled her into a hug.
"I'm still mad at you for hurting yourself..."
"I'll stop mi vida."
