You make your way to Tony's office, knocking before entering the room, he swings the door open and points to the chairs in front of his desk,
"So, how's training going?"
"Yeah it's going good, Nat and Wanda have been great so far" you smile,
"Yeah I bet they have –"
"Anyway, I just wanted to let you know, I have asked some of the rest of the team to come in, you might see some faces you don't recognise"
"Yeah, I saw Carol today"
"No, she's here for Fury, not my party" he said taking a seat in front of you,
"Party?" you asked confused,
"Yeah, come on, you and Yelena have joined the team, we want to have a welcome party" Tony said smiling with big hand gestures,
"I don't think that's a good idea, I mean I've only started training" you say concerned,
"Look, it's a chance to meet Thor and the rest of the guys, you might even get closer to two certain ladies" he said, eyebrow raised,
"What? What are you talking about" you ask defensively,
"Aw come on Y/n, don't try to pretend you haven't got a thing for Nat and the little witch... Friday sees everything" he smirks, defeated you don't have the effort to lie,
"Well, while we are on the topic, that's why I don't think it will be a very good idea, especially if alcohol is involved..."
"I thought your fire power was only to do with anger?" he questions,
"Well... as of late, it has been playing up when I have been around them both" you say awkwardly looking away,
"Playing up what does that mean?" he asks,
"Well, when I'm around Wanda my chest gets tight, and I can't focus and then my hands start burning up, and when I'm with Nat, I get these butterflies in my stomach, and I can't control the energy either, and then my hands burn up" you say all this looking down at your hands,
"Fireflies" Tony responds,
"What?"
"Well, you said Nat gives you butterflies, but with your powers, fireflies"
You laugh at his comment, really? That's what he got from this conversation?
"That was a good one Mr Stark" the kid from earlier says from the corner of the room,
"How long have you been there?-" you say to him, you turn to face Tony,
"How long has he been there?"
"The whole time, Y/n this is Peter – "
"Hi, I'm Peter, Peter Parker" he introduces himself,
"Hi Peter Parker, I'm Y/n"
"You two can get acquainted while I go tell Bruce about your developments,
"Oh Tony, when I was with Wanda earlier, my hands weren't glowing red, they were glowing yellow fire"
"Got it" he said, walking out of the room.
"So, Peter Parker, what can you do?" you turn your attention to Peter, he then jumps from the floor, onto the wall, and starts crawling around,
"Oh, so you are Spider-Man!" you say in realisation, he nods,
"So, clearly your powers have something to do with fire... can I see?"

You and Peter head out to the training ground and you show him your powers, you both sit down and get to know each other. You both like video games and movies, can't cook, and have problem with girls, he tells you about MJ and how he doesn't think she likes him back, but its not a surprise because she doesn't seem to like much,
"I think you should ask her out-"
"- the worst she can say is no" you add, Peter laughs,
"Yeah, but I don't think I can handle the rejection at the minute"
"Understood." You nod in agreement,
"So, you like Wanda and Natasha?" he asks,
"I think that's enough for you today" you say getting up, laughing that you don't think you'll have this conversation with him yet,
"Nice to meet you Peter Parker"
"Nice to meet you too Y/n" he gives you a slow wave as you head back into the compound.

You make your way into the living room to chill out, you plop yourself down on the couch and put on a movie, Wanda is behind you making dinner,
"How are you feeling?" you jump, startled at the Sokovian accent, you turn to face Wanda, who you hadn't even noticed in the kitchen,
"Oh god, I didn't even see you, sorry! I'm a little fragile" you answer as you recount the training exercises, the beating you took from Nat and the emotional roller coaster of Wanda's lessons.
"It will get easier" Wanda says smiling at you, her smile makes you feel a little better, if not making you cheeks a bit red, you look away from Wanda, focusing on the pot in front of her,
"What are you making?" you ask curiously,
"Paprikash, would you like to help?" Wanda asks,
"Oh I don't think I would be much help, but I am good at tasting" you offer, smiling as you get up from the couch and head into the kitchen, Wanda laughs and goes back to making the food, you grab a little spoon from the drawer and taste the food,
"Woah! That's so good" you say shocked,
"Why do you seem so surprised?" she says pretending to be offended,
"No – I, I just didn't think an Avenger would be so good at cooking, like when would you have the time" you say, explaining yourself,
"Oh, I learnt how to make this with my mum when I was younger, before she-" she explains, hurt on her face while remembering the painful memories of the family she once had, you can see a small tear falling from her eye,
"Oh Wanda, I didn't mean to bring up memories with your family. They would be so proud of you" you say, resting your hand on hers, trying to make her smile,
"Thanks y/n" she says while, wiping a tear with her other hand, you see her look at your hands together and smile, she turns to you, making eye contact, you hadn't looked in her eyes this close before, they were beautiful, you held each other gaze for what felt like a lifetime.
"Hey you two!" Steve said, walking into the kitchen to grab a drink, you and Wanda quickly looked away from each other, she went back to cooking and you went back to well, watching
"Is that Paprikash?" Yelena said walking into the kitchen,
"It is" Wanda replied smiling,
"Oh, I haven't had that since I had a contract in Sokovia" Yelena said smiling,
"Contract?" Peter asked innocently coming into the room,
"Yes, I had an assassination target there" she said casually, Peter furrowed his eyebrows and looked at you, you just shrugged with wide eyes, the conversations here are far from ordinary you thought.
You decided to set the table for Wanda, who looked at you and smiled. You didn't even notice that Natasha had came into the room, until she started to help you set the table, you watched her set the cutlery down, making sure they were even, you smiled at her quirk.

A couple of the team had just took a bowl, and left but Steve, Nat, Wanda, Yelena, Peter, Sam and you, all sat at the table. You looked around at everyone, they were all having their own conversations, and passing each other salt and pepper and other things, you felt a wave of sadness wash over you as you thought back to your family and the evenings where everyone would come round and have dinner together, how there was never a quiet moment, and always laughter, until someone got too drunk and offended someone anyway. You hadn't realised that you had let out a laugh and a tear until Peter asked if you were okay, you nodded and looking up towards him,
"Yeah, its just, this reminded me of back home, my family have get togethers every other week, where we make food and have drinks, it just made me realise how much I missed them" you say back to the group, Sam was sitting next you to, he give you a hug from the side, and it made you laugh,
"That sounds like something to miss, but also something to look forward too again" Steve smiled in your direction, you felt guilty that you brought up your family when you knew that some of the team had lost that,
"You'll get to see them soon Y/n" Sam smiled, letting you go. Wanda and Nat both smiled at you, slowly the conversations started to pick up again and you all enjoyed a nice meal together.
