Luis's POV

My balls had never felt so big. I was sick and tired of the bullshit, so I had to set some things straight. It would be either the stupidest or smartest thing I ever did, and I wouldn't know which until it was done and over. Remi and I had been together for nearly six months, and Ryan and Lyric still hated me.

Ryan's eyes widened in shock when I walked into his room. "Dude, what the fuck? Get out of here," he spat.

"No," I said.

Ryan gave me a look of disbelief. "Buddy, I'm not my sister. I'll fuck you up," he warned.

"Tell you what," I said. "If you don't like what I've got to say, then I'll let you kick my ass a second time if it makes you feel better, but you're going to hear what I have to say first. We've been friends for way too long for it to end over some stupid shit like this."

Ryan crossed his arms over his chest. "Five minutes."

I figured it was the best I was going to get, so I started with an apology. "Look, I'm sorry, okay? I don't apologize very often, so you ought to know that I mean it. I screwed up with Remmington, at first but we got past it. Don't you think that if she can forgive me for the shit that I pulled on her, you should be able to do the same?"

"Dude, I warned you."

"You did," I agreed. "But things didn't go down as horrible as you and your dad think, and if they had, Remi would have kicked my ass and left a long fucking time ago, but I still see her nearly every night."

Ryan grimaced. "Fine. How did it go down?"

I launched into the story of how Remi and I wound up in a fake relationship and how we wound up falling for each other long before the fight in Jamaica. I even explained how well things were going between us.

Ryan tried to argue a few points, but I countered them all.

Finally, by the time I was done, Ryan sat down and sighed. "Alright, fine, but we'll never be how we were before. Most of your time goes to Remi, and most of mine goes to Sydney."

"Bro, I get that, but it shouldn't be the way it has been. We've known each other our entire lives. We're supposed to run things when our dads step down, remember? We're family. I'm tired of trying to pretend like it doesn't bother me. I miss you and your dad. My dad misses you guys."

Ryan nodded. "Yeah, same."

"Now, I just have to convince your dad," I muttered.

"Right. . ." Ryan trailed off and chuckled. "Maybe I should go with you."

"That's probably best,"  I agreed.

Talking Lyric down wasn't easy, but with Ryan's help, I finally managed to convince Lyric that he wasn't happy with his new job. Lyric had taken a normal computer job to pass his time, not that he needed it. Thanks to my father, Lyric didn't hurt for money in the slightest.

What caught us all off guard was when Remi stormed into the room with the most pissed-off look—I was a little afraid that I was on the receiving end but thanked my lucky stars that it wasn't me. Her father took the heat.

"You! I can't believe you! Why would you call that stupid bitch?!" Remi shrieked.

I grabbed her around the waist before she could get too close to her dad.

Lyric sighed and stood up. "I just want her to be a part of your life. She needs you and your brother and vise versa."

"I don't need her, and you're out of your fucking mind if you think for a second I'm going back to New York with that snake. You don't understand what she's like. Is this really about Luis and me? So what if I want to be with him? If I get hurt, that's my problem and my business. I can take care of myself and—" Remi suddenly stopped and straightened up as if a sudden thought struck her. "Wait a minute. . ." Remi trailed off and turned to look at me. "What are you doing here?"

Lyric cleared his throat. "Luis was just offering me my job back, and I was accepting it."

Remi pursed her lips and looked back at her dad.

"Also, I'm not going to make you move back to New York, but your mother is coming here to see you and your brother next week."

"Why did you call her, Dad?" Remi asked.

"I didn't call her, Remi. She called me. She wants to see you two," Lyric gestured to Ryan and Remi.

"When did you plan on telling us?" Ryan asked.

"I was planning to tell you tonight over dinner."

"What a way to ruin dinner," Ryan said and scoffed. "Why would I want to see her? I haven't seen that woman in. . .years. Why should I give her a second of my time? She left me."

"She's still your mother, Ryan," Lyric said sternly.

"No. No, she lost that label when she abandoned me."

"We agreed that I kept you, and she kept Remi," Lyric argued.

"And because she hated you so much, she couldn't stand to look at me because I reminded her too much of you," Ryan spat. "Fuck that stupid bitch. Mothers don't leave their kids like that." Ryan turned and walked out the door, slamming it shut.

Remi shrugged. "I agree with him." She turned and pecked my cheek before walking out, leaving Lyric and me alone.

"I'm sorry that I came at such a bad time. Should I inform my father that you accepted my offer?" I asked.

Lyric nodded. "Yes, tell him I'll be there tomorrow."

"Of course," I said and walked out of the study. Since it wasn't me that Remi was angry with, I decided to go upstairs and face her wrath—praying she would have mercy on me, at least. I knocked on her door because it was locked.

"Go away!" she called.

I smirked and knocked again.

"I said go away!"

I bit my lip to stop from laughing and knocked a third time.

Her heavy footfalls didn't match her size. Anytime Remi was angry, she stomped, especially when she was about to do something she didn't want to do—much like a child, but for some crazy reason, I thought it was cute when she did it.

Remi threw the door open. "What—" she stopped and took me in. Apparently, she wasn't angry enough to not check me out. "Oh, hi," she breathed. She moved away from the door and let me in, closing the door behind me.

"Well, we fixed one problem and gained a new one," I said, trailing my fingers across her bed, which she surprisingly made. Remi never cleans unless she is mad. Sometimes, if I made her mad, she would start cleaning my bedroom.

"Tell me about it," she huffed and stomped past me. She started grabbing clothes off her floor and throwing them into her laundry basket, which was empty in the corner of the room. It was impossible for her to put her clothes in a laundry basket, no matter how close she was to it.

"On the bright side, we can see your bedroom floor for the first time since you moved in," I said and snickered.

"Hilarious, Luis. If you came to make jokes, just go home," she muttered.

I snuck up behind her as she was straightening her dresser. "Come on, snickers," I murmured. "Don't be upset with me. I'm just trying to cheer you up," I said and pressed my lips to her neck. At first, I really wasn't trying to cheer her up—I loved getting a rise out of Remi. She was sexy as hell when she was angry.

She sighed and turned to me. The anger wasn't gone, but it had faded slightly because it wasn't me she was angry at, and she liked taking her anger out constructively at the people who got her worked up in the first place. "I'm sorry," she said.

A smirk played on my lips. "I could help you burn off all that frustration."

"Hmm," she hummed. "No." She stood on her toes and pecked my lips before squirming her way out of my grasp.

I bit my lip and chuckled. "Don't you think I deserve to be rewarded, though? I made up with your dad and your brother."

She laughed as she continued to clean up her room. "You do deserve it, baby. I'm very proud of you, but I promised Syd that we could have a girls' night," she said.

"Well, that sucks. I guess it's a good thing I made up with your brother and brought a blunt."

She spun to face me. "That reminds me, I'm almost out."

"Okay, tomorrow?" I asked.

"Please," she said.

I pulled her into me and mashed my lips against hers. If I wasn't getting any tonight, I was at least getting a long kiss goodbye. She tangled her fingers into my hair and her body molded perfectly to mine—it was like she was made specifically for me. My tongue massaged hers.

Remi broke the kiss. "Mm," she hummed. "Well, maybe if you can make it a quickie."

I chuckled, but a knock on the door stopped us from removing anything. "Damn it," I muttered. "Not fast enough."

Remi bursted into giggles as the door opened.

Sydney stopped. "Oh, sorry."

"No, don't mind me. I was just leaving," I said. I pecked Remi on the lips. "Text me later."

"Yeah," she agreed.

I left Sydney and Remi and went to Ryan's bedroom, which wasn't far from Remi's bedroom.

Ryan was playing a video game when I walked in.

"Mind if I hang out?" I asked.

"I guess not," he said. "Where's Rem?"

"She and Syd are going out tonight, maybe the others too." I shrugged and lit the blunt before passing it to him.

Ryan inhaled deeply and started coughing. Between coughs, he said, "Holy fuck. Get me some of that."

I laughed. "Tomorrow."

***

The next morning, I woke up in Remi's bedroom with nothing on. She was still asleep with her head in the crook of my neck and her bare chest against mine. Instead of moving, I laid there and ran my fingers up and down her naked back.

When she finally came to, she had a look of surprise on her face, forgetting that the night before, she dragged me to her room, and we had hella good sex. I laughed at her expression.

"My head," she groaned. "What happened?"

"You got drunk and seduced me," I said and wiggled my eyebrows.

She rolled her eyes. "More like you seduced me," she argued.

"Fine. We seduced each other."

She snickered and then groaned again.

"I'll grab you some Tylenol," I said.

"Thanks," she murmured.

When I slipped out of her bed, I put my boxers on.

"Are you leaving?" she asked as I headed for her bathroom.

"Yeah, I have to. I have this meeting thing with my dad in an hour," I called over my shoulder. I grabbed the Tylenol from her cupboard and the glass on the back of her sink.

She sat up and took the pills and water from me. She kept the sheet wrapped around her, which was probably a good thing, or we would have to have a repeat of last night before I left.

I pulled my jeans on and grabbed my phone from the table beside her bed.

She sat the glass down and knelt on the bed. Her finger slipped through the belt loop of my jeans, and she pulled me close. "You know, last night is a little foggy. I think I need a repeat performance."

"Baby, I don't care how drunk you were. You and I both know there is no way in hell you could have forgotten last night," I said and smirked.

She dropped the sheet that she had wrapped around her. "Oops," she said.

I swallowed hard. "That's not fair."

She giggled and wrapped her arms around my neck, trailing her lips along my jaw.

"If I'm late, I'm going to tell my dad and your dad that it was your fault," I said. "I'm going to tell them you were being naughty. . ." I trailed off. "So, I had to punish you."

"Oh yeah? Spank me," she murmured.

"You're going to get it," I said.

Before she and I could move, the bedroom door swung open and hit the wall. Thankfully, I was at least half-dressed, and my body hid hers. Remi gasped and looked past me to see who had come in. I grabbed the sheet and put it around her in one swift movement before looking to see who had come in.

A/N: This story has hit 42,000 words. I plan to end it soon. This wasn't a super long story, I know, but I have other plans. Regardless, it was a fun book to write and I'm glad that His Name Is Lucifer finally got it's sequel.
