We start from where we left off on chapter 4; as Dan found the promotive paper for the school concert, he didn't know what to do, should he go to the address written on the back of the paper, or should he just wait for tomorrow to talk with his kouhais about it?
"Whatever, I'll just go to this address wich is most likely to be yoshi's house. If anything happens, I can simply say that it was to return this" Dan thought as he grabbed his phone and typed the address on the GPS of his phone.
And so, he started his way to the blonde haired's house. It took a while to get there but as he did, he noticed the garage was open and he could hear some people talking, not just his kouhais, but a male student as well. This made Dan feel something he felt a long time ago, jealousy.
"So what if she has male friends? Nothing wrong with that....with that said, why...? Why do I feel like this...? Am I jealous?" Dan started to think as his thoughts got interrupted by instruments. He decided to take a peek, he saw yoshi playing drums, a new face playing the guitar, but Gamo was nowhere to be seen.
"So, you actually decided to join us." Gamo said as she approached Dan from behind which made Dan get jumpscared. "WOAH! Y-yes, I came here to give you this, it fell from your skirt pocket" Dan said as he reached for the paper folded on one of his school uniform pants pocket.
"You can keep it" Gamo responded slightly smiling.
As Gamo finished that sentence, Dan didn't feel confortable, so he decided to excuse himself for refusing Gamo's invite earlier at the cafeteria.
"I'm sorry, I should have known you were inviting me to this, after all, what would you do in a garage?"
"Don't worry, I bet a girl never invited to go somewhere" the vixen replied.
"So...you must be tired, You will go home now, huh?" The orange haired student asked.
"Well, 'yawn' i'm already here so, i can join you guys"
And so, both students headed inside yoshi's garage, yoshi and the other student were still trying out the instruments.
"Good news, Dan decided to join us" Gamo said as Dan waved to the instrument players.
"Yo! I'm Dan"
"Hello there, I'm Yoshi's younger brother, Satoshi" a student with blonde spikey hair, punk style with a AB-CD shirt replied.
Both students greeted each other. After Satoshi's presentation, Dan felt somewhat relieved, as he took a small sigh.
"Oh, why are you sighing? Did you feel jealous about me talking to other boys?" The redhaired asked with the usual teasing tone.
"No no no no no no. Not at all.....Maybe.....WHATEVER! You guys gonna play or what?" Dan replied really quick as he wanted to cover his relief.
"He was jealous" the other 3 students said simultaneously.
"Ah, yes we will, as for you...you can sit....there and enjoy the show" Satoshi replied as he looked around for a place where the senpai could sit.
And so he did, Dan sat in front of the group, about 10 meters away as the group started to play the instruments once again, this time playing the music that would participate in the school concert. The drums are the first instruments to be played, a few seconds after, the second instrument that could be heard was the guitar, but something felt off. Dan wasn't sure why, but it seemed like the guitar could barely be heard because the drum was covering its sound and it sounded too slow in comparison to the drums. But as Dan was thinking about that, his thoughts were interrupted by Gamo's singing,he noticed the lyrics were related to her everyday life with him, wich made the spiked student blush, but it faded away after some minutes passed, but suddenly, Gamo started having voicecracks and the drums changed from the first chorus to the other.
As the song ended, Dan clapped his hand slowly but firmly as he walked towards the group that played such song.
"That was great, but we all know it could be better" the student said
"That's why we are practicing" Satoshi responded as the room presenced a disturbing silence afterwards.
"Can I give my opinion? I don't wanna sound rude tho" Dan said as he looked at the group.
"Sure, don't worry, we won't mind" Gamo said happy, it seems she was expecting Dan to give his opinion right after the music ended.
"So...I'm not a sound technician or anything like that, but the guitar could barely be heard, and it was slow in comparison to the drums.Gamo, your voice, it sounded forced, that's probably why you were out of tune and voicecracked sometimes, just use your regular voice. As for you Yoshi, you gotta find a rhythm you like, i noticed you changed rhythm everytime gamo sang the chorus, you gotta have only 1 rhythm for the chorus and another for the rest of the song."
As Dan finished his sentence, he noticed the group was staring at him
"What?" The senior student reacted.
"You sounded like a professional just now, like you already had a band or something, have you ever been on a band before?" Gamo replied
"No, I never wanted to. I prefer doing things alone when it comes to music, but enough of talking about me. Practice again, this time keeping in mind what I said now" Dan replied as he was trying to avoid talking about his past, that was what Gamo noticed as well.
"Keeping in mind that you never wanted to be on a band?" Satoshi said after Dan turned around and walked towards the chair he once was 5 minutes ago.
"No, keeping in mind what he said earlier, the tips he gave us" Yoshi said.
And so, they spended the whole evening practicing. It was pretty dark already, this surprised Gamo. She wasn't expecting to be that late.
"WHAT? IS IT THAT LATE? HOW LONG HAVE WE BEEN PRACTICING?"
"Don't worry, it's 6pm, but time changed remember? It's only normal it's this dark outside. Well, I guess we should call it a day huh? That thing we combined tomorrow, still up?" Dan asked as he got up from his chair and grabbed his bag.
"Sorry, tomorrow me and my little bro will go to the vet with our dog Lewis,he doesn't eat in days" Yoshi excused. "That means we got more time to rest, isn't that right Dan?" Gamo jumped in as Dan agrees and starts saying his goodbyes.
"See you guys Wednesday at school then, be good satoshi"
"Wait Dan" Gamo said as she grabbed her bag and started rushing towards Dan's direction.
"You will catch the bus right?"
"I guess, it took me a while to get here, and I'm too tired to go on foot"
"But you didn't do anyt-" Satoshi said as he got interrupted by yoshi covering his mouth.
"Then I'll join you, my house is still far from here, I catch the bus everyday" Gamo said as both of them walked away from the brothers
"Great, you can lead the way if you don't mind"
"You sure you're not letting me go ahead because you wanna look at my assets?"
"NO NO NO NO, why would I want to look at your 'assets' anyways?"
"sigh sometimes I wonder if you really are a man, you're spending too much time with paisen"
After a few seconds, when the two brothers were alone, yoshi uncovered satoshi's mouth.
"Say, why did you tell them our dog isn't eating? Lewis is perfectly fine" Satoshi asked his older sister
"It's a thing me and Gamo combined, you wouldn't get it, you're too young"
"It must be about that 'love' thing mom talks about".
Going back to Dan and Gamo, both students arrived at the bus stop after walking for 5 minutes
"That must be it, right?" Dan asked
"Yeah, let's go! I wanna wait for the bus sat down"
"What are you talking about? There is noone there!"
"Noone there YET, now RUN"
And so they did, they ran the few meters there were left until they reached the bus stop.
Noone was on sight, not a single soul could be seen in a 10 meter radium space exept the fat bottomed vixen and the slightly muscled youngster.
"Alrighty, imma check when does the next bus arrive real quiiick, aaaaand, 20 minutes" Gamo said as Dan was recovering from the running they just did.
"What? You got tired from running a few meters?"
"Guess I'm that tired huh? Sleeping 1 hour less really messes one up."
"Dan, about what you Said, 'prefer doing things alone when it comes to music', you planning on participating all by yourself?"
"No, im planning on not participating at all, my guitar broke and I dont have the money to afford one"
"Oh, You play a guitar?"
"Shit, I spoke too much" Dan realized as Gamo got surprised by Dan's reveal on the instrument he plays.
"I do, guess there is no use in hiding it anymore"
With that phrase Gamo realized that Dan hides stuff from her. No! not from her, from everyone, it seems he doesn't like to expose himself and be the center of attention.
"I'm not as good as I once was tho, I'm somehow degrading my ability as time goes on. Enough is enough, let's change the conversation shall we?
"Ok, what shall we talk about tho?"
"That song you were practicing for the concert, where did you get the idea for the lyrics? Did you think of them yourself?"
"No, hayacchi made most of it, that's her part of the concert, paisen invited her for a date to the zoo at the exact date as the concert, or else it wouldn't be me that would sing, but her"
"Thank you Naoto" Dan thought as he closed his eyes and his right hand forming a fist.
As Dan was about to respond, both students saw the bus approach, and with so, they got up and gave the bus a "stop" sign and they were finally on the go. The bus was empty, they could choose wherever they wanted to sit.
The whole bus trip was quiet and with so, it happened, the clichè of clichès, Dan fell asleep, and he slowly rested his head on Gamo's shoulder. Gamo didn't wake the student tho, she decided to leave him be, she knew how much tired he was, after everything that he went through today.
Gamo decided to guide Dan's head down to her lap.
She then caressed his hair, a tiny forest where she untangles some of the vines of Dan's hair. After half hour, the bus stopped, noone seemed to leave nor enter the bus.
"Can you wake him up" Gamo heard from a small distance.
"This is his stop, please wake him up" she heard closely, it was the bus driver slowly approaching the students.
"You know where he gets off? I don't see his home!" Gamo responded harshly but silently to not make Dan wake up
"Woah there, don't worry, trust me. He used to catch this bus."
"Ok, sorry if I sounded rude." Gamo excused. Then, she took a deep breath and...
"DAN! WAKE UP, THE BUS CRASHED!"
she shouted obviously trying to wake up the senior grade student.
"WHAT? I DIDNT DO ANYTHING! I- WHAT?" Dan woke up disoriented.
Gamo laughed uncontrollably from what she just saw, a funny and disoriented Dan.
"I'm joking, you get off at this stop right?"
"You're right. This....is my stop. What about you?" Dan said after looking around.
Gamo suddenly stopped laughing.
"Crap! I was so focused on Dan that I forgot that I needed to get out as well"
"You were messing with my hair and forgot that you had to leave, didn't you?"
"Maybe..."
"Come, you conforted me, it's only fair I repay the favor. I'll explain what happened to my father and he can drive you home"
And so, both students got out of the bus and started walking towards Dan's house but suddenly, in the middle of their walk, a black jeep stopped by the side of the students. Gamo thought on how that car looked like her father's car, while Dan got his guard up, in case something bad would happen. Both students saw the window open, revealing who was driving the vehicle, a man around his forty, all fancy dressed with a red tie.
"Maki? What are you doing here this late? You should be home by now."
"F-father! You usually get home by 9pm! Did you leave work earlier?" Gamo responded
"What are you talking about? Its 8:40pm"
"Wait, did I delay the phone time 2 hours instead of advancing it? Sorry, guess i didnt program the time right" Dan jumped in
"Get in maki, ill get us home" the man said. And so Dan and gamo waved goodbye and both parted ways to their own houses.
As Gamo was sitting on the passager sit by the side of her father she realized something.
" 'You conforted me' wait, he knew what i did? Did he fall asleep on purpose?" She thought as she blushed a slight rose.
"Maki? Maki!" Her father shouted "Who was that boy, he's not bothering you, is he? I'll fucking turn back"
"NO NO! That's Dan, the guy i told you about."
"The virgin?"
"Yes, that one"
"You like being with him? He looks like a boring and dumb person, who can't program the phone time."
"He's fun to be with, i guess"
"I see" her father said as a small smile appears on his face. "I never saw her blush, that Dan guy must be really different".
