Chapter 45: Sleep
Erick's Pov
"Fuck!" I cursed as I drove as fast as I could, back to the school.
I tracked Avie's location and it says that she's at the school's unused building.
Shit this wasn't part of the plan! I didn't see this coming! Where are the pawns I tasked to guard her?!
Oh fuck! That's right! I forgot!. I gave them another task earlier! A huge mistake Erick! A very huge mistake!
Aviela, please be alright. Please...
Nang makarating ako sa school ay hindi ko na inayos ang pagkakagarahe ng aking sasakyan. Mas natakot rin ako nang pagkababa ko ng sasakyan ay dumating rin ang isa pang sasakyan. And who owns that car?
No other than Chris.
Fuck shit! I hope we're not too late!
Both Chris and I immediately ran to the unused building, to look for Avie.
"Avie? Avie! Where are you?" We both yelled.
"This building might be too big for just the two of us. I'll call our friends" Chris told me. I just gave him a nod and then I continued searching for Avie.
"Why are there so many rooms in this building?!" reklamo ko.
Di rin nagtagal ay narinig ko na ang ingay mula sa mga kaibigan namin.
Hindi nila kasama ang mga babae. Ang buong dark devils lang at si Akhaya at pati na rin si Heiji ang nandito.
"I'm going upstairs" sabi ko at agad na tumakbo paitaas. "Avie! Avie Where are you? Can you hear me?" patuloy na sigaw ko.
Patuloy lang kami sa paghahanap hanggang sa makarating kami sa pinakataas ng building na to. Pareho kami ni Chris na pumunta sa pinakadulong silid at para bang may parte sa amin na nagsasabing huwag namin itong bubuksan pagka't tiyak na matatakot lang kami.
Dahan-dahan namin binuksan ang lumang pinto at kasabay ng pagpasok namin sa loob ay ang pagkabuo sa amin ng halo-halong takot, galit, at pag-aalala sa aming nakita.
"Aviela!" sabay na sigaw namin.
Agad rin kaming tumakbo sa kanya.
At kitang kita ang takot at galit sa mukha at panginginig ng kamay ni Chris habang sinusubukang hawakan ang pisngi ng kanyang mahal.
Naikuyom ko rin ang aking kamao ng makita ang lagay ni Avie.
Masyado itong brutal!
Nakatyo siya ngunit kitang kita naman sa itsura niya na hindi na niya kayang tumayo dahil nanghihina na ang kanyang mga tuhod. Nakatali ang kanyang kamay sa itaas. Ang kanyang damit ay punit punit at halos mapuno na ng mantsya ng dugo.
Nakayuko siya ngunit kitang kita rin na may dugo pang tumutulo mula sa kanyang ulo pababa sa kanyang pisngi. Ang mga kamay at paa niya ay may mga sugat rin. At nanlaki pa ang aking mata nang makitang may bala sa sahig.
Shit! Was she shot?!
Kitang kita ko ang galit sa itsura ni Chris nang maihiga na niya si Avie sa sahig at nang matanggal na niya siya sa pagkakatali.
"What he fuck! Avie?!" sigaw ng pamilyar na boses.
Agad na lumingon ako sa likod at nakita ko siya, at ang mga kaibigan namin. Nagsitakbuhan rin ang mga kaibigan namin papalapit kina Chris upang matulungan si Avie.
"I-Is she al---" I cut her off.
"Luckily she's still alive" I coldly told her.
Nagsalita naman si Heiji. "We found her unconscious on the other room"
Tumango ako sa kanya at muling ibinalik ang tingin kay Amethyst. Naningkit ang aking mata sa kanya nang makita ko ang baril na ibinigay ko kay Avie.
Agad na lumapit ako kay Amethyst at agad na kwinelyuhan. "What the?! What are you doing Erick?! Acck--- It's hard to breathe"
"Why do you have that fucking gun?!" I angrily asked her.
"Dude, help us out here. mamaya na yan---" hindi ko pinansin ang sinabi ni Akhaya at nanatiling masama ang aking tingin sa babaeng to.
Kitang kita ko na natatakot at nahihirapan na rin siya. "G-gun? I t-took it away from Avie kasi b-balak niya y-yata akong patayin--" I cut her off as I threw her on the floor. "Aray! Ano ba?!"
"WHY DO YOU HAVE THAT FUCKING GUN?! WHY DID YOU FUCKING TOOK IT FROM HER?! SHE'D KILL YOU? AVIELA ISN'T THE TYPE TO DO THAT!" I yelled as I walk slowly towards her, and she, on the other hand is crawling backwards, trying to stay away from me.
"W-what do you--"
"I GAVE THE GUN TO HER TO PROTECT YOU AND HERSELF! SHE WAS PROTECTING YOU! BUT WHAT DID YOU FUCKING DO?! YOU TOOK AWAY HER PROTECTION! HOW IS SHE ABLE TO DEFEND HERSELF WHEN YOU TOOK HER WEAPON AWAY FROM HER YOU FUCKING WHORE!"
I was about to punch her when our friends, Akhaya, Ian, Ivan, and Luis held me tight, trying to prevent me from touching this bitch!
"Stop it Erick! Dude babae pa rin yan" Luis said.
"WALA AKONG PAKE KUNG BABAE SIYA O HINDI! YANG BABAENG YAN ANG DAHILAN KUNG BAKIT NAGKAGANITO SI AVIE!" I yelled.
"Dude, let's go to the hospital. Dinadala na nila Chris si Avie sa ospital. Sumunod na tayo" Ivan said.
Inis na kumalas ako sa mga hawak nila at masamang tumingin kay Amethyst. "She shouldn't have protected you!" My last words to her before I left, para sumunod sa ospital.

Chris' Pov
We immediately took Avie to the hospital when we got her untied. She was also brought immediately to the emergency room as we arrived in the nearest hospital.
Shit! I'm panicking! I don't know what to do! What if she wouldn't make it? What if she'll completely leave all of us? What if---
I was cut off from talking to myself when Akhaya tapped me on my shoulder. "Don't panic. Your a gangster king aren't you? Don't let anyone see your weak side dude" he reminded me.
"Yeah thanks"
I heard Ian sighed. "She'll be fine. She's been through a lot. I don't think she'd just give up now"
"Well that's true though" I agreed. And then I sighed. 'My God, please don't take her just yet. I still want to spend the rest of my life living with her, and I still want to create a family with her'

Hours later, the doctor came out. "Relative of Ms. Fernandez?"
Neo stood up and blankly looked at the doctor. "I'm her twin brother. How is she?"
"Good news. She'd be fine. She's a strong one. But there's also a bad news. She's in a coma. We can't tell when would she wake up. Let's just pray that she'd wake up in a few day or weeks"
Maya-maya pa'y inilabas na si Avie sa emergency room para dalhin na siya sa isang room na pananatilian niya.
I want to tear up as I saw her asleep on the hospital bed while the nurses are pushing it.
She looks so fragile. I can never imagine what pain she had to go through while fighting.
Her open cuts earlier were now sewed. Her bleeding head was no longer bleeding. She isn't covered with blood anymore, but...
I think, one hold of her finger, she'll break again into pieces.

I, Ian, Neo, Akhaya, Agatha, Jenny, Ashley, and Erick are all here inside the room where Avie is.
"Kuya Arvin will be here by tomorrow" Neo sadly said. "I have no idea how he would react"
"He'd be scarier than a mafia devil, that's for sure" Erick said without even looking at us. He's just staring at Avie who is in a deep sleep. "She looks so peaceful but hurt at the same time. Do you get what I mean?"
I looked at him and then back to Avie. "Her sleeping face seems like there's nothing to worry about. As if she's just fine. But when we look at her state, she's.... She's like a plate broken into pieces and just glued together" I said, trying to hold my tears.
"Just let me in argh!"
"Yah! We told you you're not allowed there!"
Napalingon kaming lahat sa may pinto nang makarinig kami ng ingay.
"What the f*ck is this girl doing here?!" Erick angrily yelled.
"I-I want to see her. I want to know how she's doing---" He cut her off.
"You want to see how she's doing?! Why?! For what?! So that you'll plan on how to end her life completely?!"
"N-No its not like that" I saw how Amethyst's eyes began to be filled with guilt.
"Take a look Amethyst! Look at what you've done! It's all your fault! And now, we have no idea when she would wake up! Or would she even wake up?" Erick angrily yelled.
"I-I'm sorry--"
"YOUR SORRY WON'T DO ANYTHING! YOUR SORRY WILL NEVER MAKE AVIELA ALRIGHT! IF YOU WANT TO HELP, THEN I SAY GET OUT! GET OUT AND STAY OUT OF MY SIGHT!"
This time, I stood up at lumapit kay Amethyst.
Erick is also a gangster. Who knows what he might do to her. "Let's go. I'll accompany you outside" I told her.
Nang makalabas na kami ng ospital ay tumigil siya sa paglalakad at humarap sa akin. "Thank you---" I cut her off.
"Don't get the wrong idea. I did not accompany you here because I'm not mad at you. Yes I am so mad at you. So mad that you made us break up. And I am so mad at you that because of your wrong accusations, Avie is in this state"
She looked down and sighed. "Sorry. I didn't mean---"
I leaned against the wall and slid my hands into my pockets. "Erick is right. Your sorry won't do anything"
"Why did you accompany me outside then?" she asked as she looked at me straight into my eyes.
"Because Erick was my gang's rival. I know him. He's a gangster too, and you know that. Who knows what he might do to you"
"But your a gangster too so why--"
"I changed for Avie. That's why you're lucky that I haven't laid my fists on you"
Umalis na ako sa pagkakasandal sa pader at tumalikod na para bumalik na sana sa loob.
But before I could even step inside, she hugged me tight. "I'm really sorry. I thought I was right. And I thought I could bring you back to me when you know that she was plotting something against me. I'm sorry my detective senses were wrong"
I sighed at inalis ang pagkakayakap niya. "I would never comeback to you. I love Avie so much. I deeply love her and I don't wanna lose her. Just move on" I said.
At bago pa man ako tuluyang pumasok sa loob ay nilingon ko siya ng kaunti.
"And, stop pretending to be a detective. Your so called detective senses are all just part of your act to be called smarter than her, But you don't really have detective senses"
