Taking in the fresh air, her footing seemed to be crunching down onto the crimson autumn leaves. The time that the second and first years of Nekoma High having their class field trip.
“Hello, Kyoto!” Taketora stretched his arms as they exited the packed school bus.
“Oh jeez,” Kenma walked out with his body shivering from the cold autumn air. The tiger boy just pushed him lightly while chuckling, “You should stop playing video games so much and try to go outside more.”
“Tora, that has nothing to do with this.”
Without the third years' eyes on them (especially Yaku), they could do all sorts of crazy stuff. It was only for three days, it was only a few weeks away from the preliminaries.
Looking around the view of the part of the area they stopped at, it was like she was in a documentary she saw a lot on TV. “Yukimura-chan, why are you so wide-eyed all of a sudden?” Teshiro approached her with a chuckle. “S-sorry, it's just- just- I haven't been here for a long time.”
“You've been to Kyoto before?” He asked.
Hikaru nodded, “Yeah! My father and I always go to see the castles here.”
As they walked around to see the leaves, a lot of shouting and laughs were heard from not so far away. Turning to look at the source, it was (what was expected) their first years from the volleyball club, specifically Keiko and Lev.
“When will those two will ever shut up?” Himura let out a grunt before walking off with Fumi trailing behind.
“You seemed to have some sass these days,” Fumi commented with a smirk, “Got anything to share?”
Himura just rolled her eyes.
“Uwaaaah! It's Kyoto! Autumn red leaves! The temples!” Akahana's emerald eyes sparkled as she began to hop around each and every corner of the street, giving her friends secondhand embarrassment. “Akahana's really excited, isn't she?” Hikaru pointed out as Teshiro nodded.
After a lot of fidgeting and glances, Akahana started to point everything like Keiko did.
“So many trees!” Her mouth was quick to shut as Hikaru pressed her hand over it, “We get it, calm down.”
Seeing the chaos ensued right before her eyes, Chou just sighed as she walked around with a certain maneki-neko boy beside her. “Akahana's all excited because it's our first time here.” Fukunaga just rubbed his chin as a respond, making her more awkward.
“Anyways,” She opened up a piece of paper the teacher told her to write down. “Watanabe-sensei said we should stick as a team, any size but we also have to keep an eye out for the first years, for some odd reason.”
“It looks like no one would take them...” She of course, talking about the volleyball kids being extra and chaotic at the back of the line.
Fukunaga just gave a thumbs-up while smiling like a fool, making Chou giggle. She finally gets what Himura meant by him trying to make people smile, even though it's just by simple gestures like a thumbs-up.

“Yes! We have the gym all to ourselves!” Yaku rejoiced as he relaxed against a wall.
“Yakkun, buy us yoghurt, please?” Kuroo ordered him while looking phased out.
“What?! Why would I?? Do you think I look like your servant?”
“Most of our players are gone, you're on duty.”
“We have no such thing!”
Kai watched them with a smile on his face as he slowly walked out the gym to get some yoghurt for the three of them.
“Why am I in a team with you all again?” Chou questioned her morality again after seeing the second years from that volleyball club joining her team, at first it was just Himura and Fukunaga, she doesn't mind them but then Taketora started joining, then Kenma and Emika got dragged in and now, Fumi and Hoshiko butted in.
They all shared looks with each other before turning back to Chou, “I don't see anything bad about this.” Hoshiko admitted.
It made Chou went off the rail. Tearing the paper apart in one go.
“Senpai, you all are so slow! Everyone is already ahead of us!” Lev ran to them with a cheeky grin and a decorative bag in his hands as he swayed it around. “Ah right, check this out! Just a ways from here, there was this souvenir shop, so I bought these goodies!”
‘Souvenirs on the first day?!’
“Lev, what are you trying to achieve by adding things to your before going to the hotel?” Taketora scolded him as he pulled his tie down to his level.
Lev just let out a gullible laugh, “Ahahahaha! Yeah, that might just be a drag, eh? Well, then, I guess I'll chow down on all of it now?”
Chou turned to her little sister to see her eyeing Lev with such disappointment. ‘Where the hell did all of that excitement go?’
Trying not to feel so awkward around her classmate, Hoshiko glanced around while whistling a tune before looking back to Kenma. “So...about the assigned bedrooms. Who did you get, Kozume?” She asked with a smile. Kenma just groaned before sulking, “Those two...” He pointed at his teammates. ‘This is not going to end well...’
And, the feelings of insecurity and unease intensify...
Flopping onto the soft plush bed, Himura immediately went in to a deep sleep. “You sure are tired, huh, Sara?” Chou giggled as she grabbed her pillow while squeezing it against her chest. Himura nodded and slowly drifted to sleep.
“Heyya!” The door slammed open to reveal their other roommate, the one and only, Fumi.
“Ah...F-Fumi-chan...welcome...” Her eye twitched as she watched Fumi unpacked her things and laid on the bed while making a lot of noise. “Can you believe it? We're sharing a room together! Feels pretty romantic, doesn't it~?” Fumi joked around, making Chou laugh awkwardly.
‘Was wishing it was just me and her...’
Enjoying their room, Hikaru watched Keiko rolled around in bed while rubbing her face against the softer pillows. “Kyaa, the bed's so warm and fluffy!”
Giggling before looking around the room, Hikaru smiled to herself. “The room's nicer than expected. Pretty surprising. Y'know even though they said that we're free 'till dinner, there's nothing to do.”
“I got an idea, wanna go out and see the other rooms?” Hikaru suggested.
Keiko started giggling, “Ah- like a boys' room?”
“There you go again...”
Speaking of boys, Inuoka was snoring loudly in their room as Shibayama stared at the blank white ceiling. His mind was blank.
“Hey, Inuoka-kun...” The brunet hummed. “...what happens when you don't have anything in your mind?”
Inuoka started to him before clicking, “Mama said if your mind is really blank, a spirit will posses your body more easily than when you're thinking about something.”
It sent shivers down his spine and it made him get out from his laying position to look at the sleeping brunet.
Knock
Knock
Knock
Shibayama opened the door to see, Lev and Teshiro at the door. “Huh, you guys aren't sleeping?” He questioned as the two welcomed themselves in.
“Sensei said we'll have bath time right after the second years,” Teshiro explained before sitting down next to Inuoka's sleeping body.
“We have plenty of time to hang!” Lev looked out the window, bringing in the wind from the outside in before Shibayama slamming back to its previous position.
‘I wonder how are the second years are going...’
Meanwhile...
The two of them waited outside the door shut from the inside.
“We can't get into our room? Does that even make sense?” Taketora asked.
Kenma just respond, “Who was it that got the keys?”
“Fukunaga got 'em. Where has he gone off?”
“Kenma? Yamamoto-kun?” They both turned to see Emika walking by with a towel with on her shoulder. Taketora immediately went shy while Kenma was acting normal as always. “What's up with you guys standing in front of your room like that...?”
“Hey,” Kenma started to explain, “Do you know where Fukunaga went? He got our keys.”
“Fukunaga-kun?” Emika tilted her head as Taketora nodded his.
“I saw him go right in that long ago. Isn't he inside?”
...
“FUCK YOU, FUKUNAGA! FUCKIN' OPEN THE DAMN DOOR NOW!”
“Tora, control yourself...”
Happy birthday Tamahiko!! (14th January)
