Rosaline opens her eyes and flashes her alpha eyes. She swings her katanas and fearless rune is showed. Theodore's magical bow appears and he stretches its string forming the strength rune. Clary is seen blowing the candles on her birthday cake forming the angelic rune. Jace is seen jumping from a building with eagles surrounding him. He jumps on the ground splashing the water which forms heightened speed rune. Alec is seen a room with healing rune drawn on one of the walls. He aims his arrow. Isabelle is now shown swinging her blade forming the parabatai rune. Simon is seen wiping the blood on his lips in hotel de mort. The whole background turns black and white. Luke is seen with a wall behind him covered with runes and wolves. Magnus is drinking his cocktail. Scene splits and shows Theo and Rose using their magic and flashing their alpha eyes. Then all the runes are shown burning and Rosaline, Theo, Clary, Jace, Alec and Isabelle are shown walking and the title Shadowhunter appears with The Mortal Instruments written below. And the screen turns black.

Magnus: I don't know, but they're not all your responsibility.
Alec: But you are.
They smiled at this.
Magnus: I can take care of myself.
Alec: Maybe... but this is different. You may have lived through the fall of Rome, but even the Dark Ages couldn't have been this dark.
Magnus: Alexander... I know things may seem bleak, but... nothing was as devastating as seeing you standing on that ledge.
Alec: It was the magic. I would never, never...
Magnus: I know, I know. But magic can't create fears, only bring them out.

They chuckled a little on how Magnus was offended.

Jace: We need your help. ( Magnus tries to use his magic but it was in vain. )

Clary: I'm guessing that's not a dessert.
They laughed a little.
Magnus: It means "the burnt flesh." It's an old blood oath spell.
Rose: Oh, this is not good.
Alec: Then it must be Iris. She said you owed her a favor.
Clary: At Max's party, she said I have to find Madzie.
Magnus: Then we better start looking. I can get rid of the pain, but that's about it.

( Hissing ) Valentine: I thought you said you knew how this worked.
Dot: I'm trying, but the injections... I can barely generate enough magic to create your Portals, let alone a spell this complex.
Valentine: Then perhaps you can teach her.

Theo: We were told you spoke with her this morning. She hasn't been in the Institute since.
Aldertree: I didn't realize I was the keeper of your sister's calendar.
Alec: Something's wrong. She's been acting weird ever since you sent her to the Iron Sisters.
Aldertree: I think you both're being paranoid. After what happened at your brother's party, perhaps I should recommend Alec for a psych evaluation.
Alec: Hmm.
Aldertree: What reason would I have to lie?
Theo: We don't know, but whatever it is...

Rose: Someone opened a Portal. ( Grunts )
Simon: Nothing over there. And without the wolves to help us pick up a scent, this is gonna take forever. ( Clary sighs )

Simon: Maybe he can help. Excuse me, um... a little girl might have gotten kidnapped a few days ago. I was wondering if you've seen her.

ACHATIUS: Damn, right deal.

Simon: Don't sound too excited.

Rose: Valentine's too smart to have not thought about blocking the signal. If we can track Madzie, it's because he wants us to.
FINN: Clearly, he has laid a trap.
Jace: We'll be walking into a trap.
Simon: What are you suggesting? That we don't find Madzie?
Jace: That's not what I'm saying.
Clary: Simon's right. Trap or no trap, the scarf is our only option. ( Stammers ) I can't let Valentine activate the Soul-Sword, either. So whatever happens, you can't let him take me alive.
Simon: Uh... Clary, you're kind of freaking me out.
Clary: Trust me, I've thought about it and... ( Scoffs ) Maia was right.
Simon: What are... What are you talking about?
Clary: I would rather die than let Valentine destroy the Downworld. I need you to promise me. If Valentine ever gets to me...
Rose: Then what Clary. He either has me or Theo to activate it. And even if we also somehow don't activate it. I am hundred percent sure he will always have a back-up plan.

( There was a down world meeting. )
Luke: Meliorn. What happened to your face?
Meliorn: My punishment for helping Clary Fairchild and Rosaline Morgenstern into one of the Queen's realms.
ACHATIUS: If he hadn't helped Theo also he would have been dead.
ISABELLE: What do you mean by that?
ACHATIUS: You didn't tell them. ( He looked over Theo who was silent. )
ALEC: What didn't he tell us?
THEO: You will know.
Luke: Well, it's good to see you.
Meliorn: I'd say the same, but, sadly, I'm incapable of lying. Shall we get this over with?
Magnus: Careful. Seelie armor.
Luke: Means war. I noticed. So I assume you all know why I called you here.
Raphael: I've heard rumors.
Luke: Well, unfortunately, the rumors are true. Valentine wants to use the Soul-Sword to decimate the entire Downworld, and he needs Clary, Rose or Theo to activate it.
Raphael: And you have a plan?
Luke: Well, we can't defeat Valentine on our own. But together... maybe we have a shot.
Magnus: Whatever it is, we can't have him get to them.
Meliorn: I agree. But on behalf of the Seelie Queen, I'd like to propose an alternative. Execute Clary Fairchild on sight. And Theodore Lightwood and Rosaline Morgenstern would be under Seelie Queen's protection.
JACE: Why the hell would the Seelie Queen want you alive and Clary dead?
THEO: Told you will know.
Magnus: Care to rethink that?
Luke: You'd be rotting in the City of Bones had she not insisted we save your life.
Meliorn: Then consider this my way of returning the favor. By killing her, I'll be saving you from yourselves. This council is biased. You've all allowed yourselves to become too involved with the Shadowhunters. Jocelyn Fairchild. Alec Lightwood. And you. ( Inhales deeply ) You've been seeing Isabelle, haven't you?
Raphael: What are you talking about?
Meliorn: I'd recognize that perfume anywhere.
Raphael: Then you're no different from the rest of us.

Raphael: My judgment's fine. Clary has to die to protect our people... so be it. But same goes for Rosaline and Theodore.
Meliorn: If you harm them, you will be declaring a war on seelies. The Alpha Shadowhunters should not be harmed

Jace: Stay here. We'll be right back. ( Siren wailing )

Jace: Very close. This still feels way too easy.

ACHATIUS: She won't choose down world.

Jace: Okay. ( Simon comes out of the van and they explain the whole situation to him.)
Rose: But we need someone protecting Clary while we're gone.
Simon: That's easy for you to say. You're the guys with the sword. ( Stammering ) What am I gonna do? Protect her with my teeth?
Rose: You are capable of doing anything Simon.
Jace: We need your help here. Okay.
Simon: All right, I'll stay. ( Cell phone ringing ) Just a sec, it's Luke.
Luke: Simon, where are you?
Simon: Uh, we're still looking for Madzie. What's up?
Luke: ( Sighs ) You need to be careful. The Downworld's falling apart.
Simon: I'm guessing the meeting didn't go so well, then?
Luke: The vampires and the Seelies want Clary dead. Seelies, I don't know why want Rose and Theo alive. They'll be hunting for you.
Simon: You know, good thing you called when you did, because Jace and Rose were just... ( They already left. ) Oh, no. I'll call you back. Okay. You can do this.

Simon: You sure we're safe up here?

Simon: Maybe we should go looking for Jace and Rose.
Clary: No. If they say they're gonna rescue Madzie, we need to be here when they comes back.
Simon: Sure.
Clary: Yeah.
Simon: But at what point do we say they're been gone too long?

Magnus: A couple days ago, I saw Isabelle trying to buy yin fen from a certain reprobate warlock at the Hunter's Moon.
Theo: What?
Alec: You sure it was her?
Magnus: ( Sighs ) I asked her what she was doing, but she told me that she was undercover.
Alec: Why didn't you say anything?
Magnus: She's an excellent liar. It wasn't until this evening that I put it all together. Something Meliorn said at the Downworld meeting. I think she's getting her fix straight from the source.
Theo: Where is she?
KEELIN: This is not gonna be good.

( Valentine was in a cafe with Madzie. )
Valentine: Careful, Madzie. Don't burn yourself, hmm? ( Jace and Rose come and sit beside him. )
Jace: ( Chuckles ) How fatherly. I didn't know you had it in you.
Valentine: Ah, Jonathan, Rosaline. I figured you'd come for young Madzie sooner or later. Although, it's a shame you didn't bring your sister along.
Rose: Let the girl go.
Valentine: I'm afraid young Madzie is quite happy where she is.
Rose: Oh, I think Iris would disagree.
Jace: She made Clary take a blood oath. If we don't get Madzie to her in the next few hours... Clary dies.
Valentine: I suppose you both're here to save her life?
Rose: We're here to give you an ultimatum. We'll let Clary die if we have to... but you need her alive. And you very well know, me and Theo are very well capable of making our Angel blood a waste.

THEO: If we want, even when we touch the sword it won't get activated.

Rose: Jace is also my brother. And if I let Clary die, I still have my brother alive with the whole downworld. I do things which profits me and who knows it better than you.
Jace: Plus, I have demon blood. If you destroy the Downworld, I go with it. I'm just trying to save myself. It's your choice... but we are not gonna ask you again. Either Madzie comes with us... or your angel dies.

( Raphael was drinking Isabelle's blood. ) ( Slurping ) ( Door opens )
Man: Hey! What are you doing here? You can't go in... ( Blow lands ) ( Grunts ) ( Gasps ) ( Alec and Theo come there. Alec hits Raphael. ) ( Both grunt )
HOPE: Oh my God!
Isabelle: Alec? Theo?
Alec: You stay the hell away from her.
Raphael: You don't understand. It was Aldertree who got her addicted to yin fen.
Theo: What?
Isabelle: It's the truth.
Raphael: I was only trying to help.
Alec: By drinking her blood? ( Alec was about to hit him again but Raphael blocks the blow. He held Alec's neck. ) ( Both grunting )
Raphael: It may have started with the blood, but it's more complicated than that, all right? I care about her.
Alec: What did you say?
Raphael: I... ( Panting ) I have feelings for her. ( Exhales heavily )
Isabelle: Raphael, let him go. ( Grunting ) ( Alec then, starts hitting Raphael. )
Theo: Alec stop.

Jace: Remember me? ( Grunting ) ( Vampires try to go away but Rose holds both of them with her magic. Simon comes and tackles them. ) ( Hisses )
Simon: Where do you come from? Where's Valentine? Where's Valentine? Tell me! ( Growling ) Tell me! ( Woman whimpers ) ( Simon grunting ) ( Another vampire was about to attack Simon but Luke shoots the vampire. ) ( Gun fires ) ( Sighs ) Are you kidding me? I thought he was dead.
Luke: He definitely is now. ( Growling ) Valentine must be experimenting again.
Simon: I bet there's more where that came from.
Rose: Which means... you're gonna tell us where he is, or you're gonna end up just like your friend.

Alec: The initial attacks were in South Brooklyn, so we're gonna focus our search there and then move outward.
